Bliss stretched her arms in the sunlight. Throngs of people walked to and fro. At Bliss’s side was Lati, who currently wore a cloak to conceal her demon bits. Bliss herself was using Natural Disguise to look human. The two of them stood in Lalet Village, having finally arrived. As for Snek, she promptly vanished upon arrival, leaving Bliss and Lati to fend for themselves for the time being.

Bliss glanced to the traffic in the street she and Lati stood beside. Said traffic was mostly foot traffic with a sprinkling of carriages thrown in. She turned to Lati. “Now what?”

“Guess we need to find their complex.” Lati shrugged, careful not to flit her tongue out. “Would have been nice if Snek did not just bail on us like that.”

“Have you been to their complex before?”

“Don’t worry. Last time, I went there with Rex.” Lati smiled. “I should be able to get us there just fine.” She shielded her red eyes and glanced up. “Looks like we have plenty of time. The operation starts at night if my data is right.”

“That is great.” Bliss smiled as the two women began to walk along the street.

Bliss hardly made it more than a few steps before a man blocked her path. The bearded man with short, black, unruly hair wore a brown trench-coat and towered over bliss in stature. Currently, he tightly held his coat shut. Oh hell. His black eyes met Bliss’s gold. Please say he is not going to … He swung his coat open.

“Mam, may I interest you in a pocket-watch.” The man turned out to be fully clothed. On the inside of his brown trench-coat, numerous silvery pocket-watches glistened.

Oh. He is just hawking watches. Though Bliss was in her human form, she could somehow feel her currently non-existent bunny ears drooping in relief. I feel like I dodged a bullet there. Absentmindedly, she reached up and touched her human ears.

“My pocket-watches are top quality.” The tall, bearded man with a light-tan complexion continued to hawk his watches. “Guaranteed to run silent, they are perfect for adventure.” He shifts his black eyes from side to side. “Also great for thieves if that is more your thing. Usually, I let them go for 10 gold coins apiece, but for you, I am willing to do 7. What do you say? Buy one for you and one for your mysterious friend.” He gestured at Lati.

He really wants to sell those watches. Well, I guess I could use a watch, but … Bliss sighed, closing her eyes. I don’t have any gold coins. The beautiful succubus turned her attention to her status.

“Thank you.” Bliss snapped up her new pocket-watch, a certain snake woman giggling beside her at the spectacle.

“Why?” The man blinked, shaking his head. “Why did I just give you one for free?” His eyes went to the rather-generous mounds on Bliss’s chest. “It must be,” his eyes went to Bliss’s face, “because you have a cute face.”

You weren’t looking at my face just now, buddy. Bliss grimaced as Lati burst out in laughter beside her. Well, at least the charm worked. Bliss smiled, her golden eyes meeting the man’s black again. “Thanks again, but we really must be going.” She grabbed Lati’s arm and began walking away from the watch-hawker.

“That guy so wanted in your panties.” Lati still giggled as she walked beside Bliss.

Lati stopped too. The snake woman glanced from side to side before her red eyes went to the entrance of an alley. “We need to go down some back alleys.” She pointed a finger at the alley she was looking at. “The entrance is pretty deep into a network of back alleys. It is not easy to find at all.”

“If it is so hard to find, what if we can’t find it?” Bliss pouted, her golden eyes going big.

“Don’t worry. I’ve been there before. I’m sure we can find it.” Lati nervously shifted her weight from side to side. “Anyway, let’s get going.” The cloak-wearing snake woman grabbed the human-looking succubus and pulled her into the alley. As the pair disappeared down said alley, a blonde woman with gray eyes and a natural hundred-yard-stare followed them in.
