'This...' Alex thought mildly shocked at the behavior of the old man in front of him.
'Are you a nice old man or are you some kind of shady dealer' Alex thought to himself jokingly as he took his wallet out and gave the man his ten dollars.
"Here, see you another time!" Alex said as he took the book and turned around heading for the exit.
"Sure, another time perhaps." The old man mumbled as he watched Alex's back get farther and farther away.
Once outside, Alex saw that it was still only the middle of the day and he had another twelve hours to waste.
Alex nodded to himself merely seconds later as he came to a decision.
It was time to go and train at the martial arts gym once more.
He arrived quickly and saw that the guys and John were still there.
Greeting them, Alex immediately asked John to teach him new moves and the man without any hurry in the world simply flipped the page of his newspaper.
"As you can see I'm doing something, I'll help when I'm finished. Be polite" John had replied to him while giving Alex a mild glare before turning his sight back to the paper on his hands.
'Damned' Alex thought as he walked to the boxing bag and started practicing his punches while keeping his power at a minimum and trying to only use his technique.
This was good training for both his control and martial arts technique at the same time.
He could learn how to use his strength with minute detail and how to use that strength to its fullest extent at the same time.
Hours quickly passed as Alex got immersed in his training, forgetting to ask John about new techniques entirely as he focused on perfecting what he already knew.
Focused on how he could use his strength in various situations and how he would be able to get out of those situations as well.
Many called what Alex was doing at the moment a high-level boxing technique, it had many names ranging from fighting your shadow, imaginary boxing, or shadow boxing but they all meant the same thing.
Imagining that your opponent was in front of you and trying to guess how they would react, how they would punch you and how they would move, and then how you would be able to respond to situations like those.

It was only possible for extremely skilled boxers as it required a lot of knowledge of the art but Alex had managed to bypass the requirement by observing everyone in the gym and then imagining their moves on his imaginary opponent which he had made to be a vampire.
Thus his opponent could be said to be stronger than any other he had fought to date.
James had been strong but he had died instantly without being able to do anything and so had Victoria, what Alex was imagining was instead someone of his own strength but with technique and skill far surpassing his own.
Finally, after four hours of nonstop fighting, Alex stopped as he turned to look around him.
Everyone in the gym was looking at him with their mouths hanging open, even John who usually had no expression had his eyes clearly widened as he stared at Alex.
"What the hell"
Alex heard one of the gym members mumble as he stared at him.
"Seems like I went a bit overboard, I'm sorry if I distracted everyone," Alex said as he gave them all a shallow bow in apology.
'I seriously overdid it this time, I lost track of time and spent four hours shadowboxing and I don't have a single drop of sweat on me. Just that is already beyond human' Alex thought as he sighed inwardly.
"But I think I'm done for today, once again I'm sorry if I distracted you guys in any way, I'll be going now. See ya next time John!" Alex said as he started walking to the exit.
Even when he had gotten out, the entire gym was silent as the members and John stood still, staring at Alex's vanishing back as he got further and further away.
"Did that just happen?" Oreo asked his voice clearly showcasing his shock.
"I think it did and is he even human at this point? Did you see him? Not a single drop of sweat" Another who stood next to Oreo said as he turned to John.
"For four hours without stopping as well and he did shadow boxing, how is that even possible for someone that just started martial arts" Another said as they turned to look at John as well, their face showing the clear confusion that roamed around the room.
*Sigh*
John gave a shallow sigh as he got up from his chair and turned toward the gym members.
"There are geniuses in this world, everyone here is a genius and I can say that with utmost certainty. However, there's another class above a genius, above a prodigy." John said with a slow drawl, his calm but deep voice echoing in the room where everyone else besides him maintained their silence.
"A monster, that's what that guy is. Someone who is born once in a hundred years maybe even rarer, someone who's born to become the strongest. You can beat a genius with hard work even if you have no talent" John said as he walked to the boxing bag that Alex had used.
And he simply moved it just a little with his finger.
*Bang*
The chain broke and the boxing bag fell onto the ground.
"But you can't beat that, that is when human ability breaks all logic," John said and gave another sigh before going back toward the counter and grabbing a cup of coffee.
The rest of the room had gone even more silent at John's words, their breaths shook as they had heard that John, someone who they considered the greatest man knew someone else, someone who John himself called a monster in human skin.
*Gulp*
'Just how strong will that guy get if he doesn't stop'
The thought went through everyone's head as if it were an electrical current.
However, Alex wasn't the greatest genius nor was he a monster of martial arts, he was simply inhuman.
