Soon after, Alex arrived back at the Cullen Mansion, took his phone out, and called Charlie.
"Hey Dad, it's me, Alex," Alex said as he held the phone over his ear.
"Hey Alex" Charlie responded simply and waited to hear what Alex had called him for.
"I'll be staying the night at the Cullens, is that all right?" Alex said as he walked up the stairs to the front door.
"It's totally fine, I hope you have fun," Charlie said, stopping for a moment before continuing.
"Do you have anything to sleep with?" Charlie asked, his voice concerned for Alex, as all parents were when their child went somewhere for a sleepover.
"Jasper, Doctor Cullen's kid said he would give me his pajamas so it's fine, I'm only staying for one night so I don't really need much," Alex replied to Charlie as he opened the front door of the mansion, and headed inside.
"All right, have fun and call me if you want to come back or anything happens," Charlie said, his soft tone could even be heard over the phone.
"All right Dad, see you tomorrow"
"See you son" Charlie answered and Alex hung up.
Closing the front door, Alex headed into the living room, he only found Alice and Esme there while the others seemed to be in their own rooms from what Alex was hearing.
"Hey, I'm back. Sorry for burdening you tonight." Alex said as he looked at Esme and Alice.
Esme shook her head and spoke to Alex with a soft motherly smile on her face.
"It's all right Alex, you're basically family at this point"
Alex stood there frozen for a split second at her words and then nodded awkwardly.
"I see, thank you," Alex said to Esme and then went ahead and sat on the couch in front of Alice.
Looking at her, Alex smiled.
"Do you want to do anything? I mean this is practically a sleepover isn't it?" Alex asked as he looked at her with that same smile.
Alice returned it the same and gave a nod.
"Sure, I was thinking of doing a painting, do you want to join me?" Alice asked as she looked at Alex.
Alex nodded in return and got up from the couch.

"Sure, lead the way"
Alice got up as well and started heading towards the stairs, Alex following behind her.
"Do you want me to make you anything to eat Alex?" Esme asked from behind him.
Turning to face her, Alex shook his head.
"It's fine, I do not need to eat, so you do not have to worry about me"
"Ok, just tell me if you want anything, and I'll make it, Don't be shy about it," Esme said as she looked at Alex with those soft eyes of hers.
"All right, thank you" Alex replied and started following Alice up the stairs once more.
Soon they arrived in front of Alice's room once more.
Heading inside, Alex saw that she had made a few more paintings since the last time he had been in her room.
Looking at them, Alex saw they were mostly made up of a white mist that seemed to swirl around.
The background setting where the mist was however changed with each painting.
One of them was in a dimly lit alley.
The second way was in front of what looked like a rural road.
And the final one was in a grass field.
Alex knew what the mist represented as soon as he saw the background.
And now that he looked at it more closely, the mist did resemble a person's outline though vaguely and if you didn't know what to look for then you wouldn't be able to notice the signs.
"Are those supposed to be me?" Alex asked as he looked at Alice who sat down on a small chair, there was a large white canvas in front of her.
"Yes, I drew them from my visions so they are not that good," Alice said as she turned to face Alex who sat down on her bed.
"So that's what I look like in your visions huh? Looks pretty spooky" Alex said as he looked at the paintings, he had tried to joke about it but it seemed like he wasn't really in the mood and the joke landed flat, the tone of his voice just wasn't right.
"I guess so, but I would like to request something Alex," Alice said as she looked at the paintings and then turned her head to face Alex once more.
"What is it?" Alex asked, his voice clearly carrying the curiosity he was feeling.
"Could I paint you? By that I mean can you be my model for this painting?" Alice asked as she looked at him.
Alex thought as he looked at Alice who had just asked him that.
'I would have definitely been too embarrassed to ask her that, I guess when you live for a hundred years, your sense of embarrassment just goes away.'
Nodding his head, Alex replied.
"Sure, I'd be honored too. Do you want me to get up or stay seated, is there any pose you want me to make?" Alex asked as he looked at Alice who had a smile on her face at his agreement.
"Just sit straight in the bed and that will be fine," Alice said as she took the canvas and small chair and turned them toward Alex, once she was in a good position she peeked her head to look at Alex.
"Is this fine?" Alex asked as he sat on the bed.
"Yup that's perfect just don't move now," Alice said as she took her brush from the small container to her side.
Alex gave a slight nod and stopped moving.
At that moment, he had stopped breathing, and any other movements he was making even subconsciously had stopped.
He truly looked like a living realistic statue.
"That's great, it's so much easier to paint someone when they're a vampire," Alice said with a nod and then started getting to work.
Her brush strokes were fast but they all looked perfect as if they were being painted by a master artist and at this point, Alice had probably reached that level already considering her age.
