I stared at my stats for a few seconds before putting the two points into agility. I needed to be able to dodge attacks otherwise I would be killed. I looked up at the rock where I had left Felix’s remains and decided to leave them there. He would look over all the siblings he would never get to meet. I laid there thinking of the short time I had spent with him.

His whole life he had devoted everything to growing and protecting the Dagoon race. I stared into space wishing I could bring it back. Then I realized something. As a reward for completing my main objective I would become a god. Gods could bring people back to life!

I staggered to my feet and walked out of my new nest. Trip saw me and started sprinting forward trying to stop me from pushing myself. I commanded him to bring me some food and to make sure Tote and Blue were okay. It was time to take this seriously. Even if I had to kill people I would get my son back. No matter the cost.

The first order of business was to get a worker. They would be able to produce more troops than me as I was unable to eat more than 2 biomass a day. And that means we need more biomass. Thankfully Trip had foraged a small pile of fish, clams and a few lobsters. I started chowing down and after a bit I had 5 biomass. I produced the worker and as usual the pain took hold.

I woke up to see a smaller egg than usual. Trip saw the egg and picked it up walking it toward a small cave with sea grass and moss padding. With that out of the way I commanded Tote and Blue to come over to me. They arrived and I was proud to see that they were already full grown.

I ordered them to start filling the small caves around the beach with moss and to start adding food to the pile. It was time to start mass producing Dagoons. Even if they didn’t come out of me I would still be their mother. Every single Dagoon was my child.

After issuing orders I went back to my nest to rest. After another extended nap I got up and felt good enough to try fishing. Most of my ribs had healed and now I was just very sore and covered in bruises. I was also missing a lot of my scales.

I sank into the water and waited. However, not a single fish swam by. I looked around and noticed that a giant fish was circling around. I was annoyed that some bigger fish had scared the others away. I started swimming out toward it.

If this swimming piece of sushi wasn't coming to me I would doggy paddle to my next meal. As I approached the fish it turned towards me and I recognized it instantly. It was a shark, except this shark had 6 eyes and was twice the size of one on earth. In my mind I instantly started referring to him as Bruce.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Bruce swam toward me as I started bounding towards the shore. Unfortunately I didn't get far before the shark clamped down on my legs and dragged me down. As I was being pulled into the ocean trailing blood I tried to stab Bruce with my tail. If I could kill it I might be able to not drown.

I swiped my claws at Bruce making shallow cuts along his face. After that had no effect I tried stabbing his eyes with my tail. This he reacted to by biting down even harder and trying to rip my leg off. I once again stabbed his eye, this time penetrating deep into his skull. Bruce went still for a few seconds before coming back to life and swimming away. I stayed there for a moment. 30 feet underwater and bleeding out. I floated up using my tail almost like a propeller. I broke the surface and desperately started sucking in air.

I paddled back to the beach and pulled myself out of the water. I sat there shivering for a few minutes wondering why I had gone after a fish the size of a car. I started walking toward my nest cursing myself for my stupidity. As I approached the nest I admired my children. They had taken a few shallow caves near me and surrounding the rock I decided was now a monument for Felix.

I sat down next to the monument and called my brood to me. They all trudged over tired from their activities. Trip noticed my wounded leg and started panicking but after I showed him I could walk he calmed down.

We started eating and as we did I felt embarrassed that I had not contributed to the meal. After a bit of eating I got a notification asking if I wanted to produce a hunter. I accepted and after a short while a new egg sat next to me. I looked at it for a second wondering if what I was doing was right.

This hunter would live and eventually die for the pack and yet I had brought him into the world without a second thought. I took a few deep breaths and just went to sleep. I didn't even bother to move as my leg felt like it had been repeatedly shot by a shotgun.

I got up the next morning and looked around for the worker's egg. I didn't know when it would hatch so I wanted to check. By the time I got over to the egg it had already hatched. I looked at it and knew why it cost more. It had the normal four legs and a long tail but instead of a tail spike they had a sphere of hardened bone. Perfect for breaking rocks when tunneling.

I decided to name him Brick. Brick's paws were also much wider but didn't have very sharp claws. I gave him a few nuzzles before going off to prepare for the day. I ordered Tote to follow me and told the others to watch the nest.

We needed to start figuring out the threats around us and that didnt mean just the beach. It was time to scout the forest.

Me and Tote started walking inland stopping every now and then to sniff for anything dangerous nearby. After 2 hours of walking and not being attacked I started to relax. I looked around me and just admired the forest. The trees were giant but the sunlight still made it through the forage. We had seen various animals throughout our journey but none had tried fighting us.

Tote was excitedly sniffing around enjoying the new area. As we strolled through we came upon something that made mentally gasp in astonishment. A tree the size of a skyscraper sat next to a river. The leaves were purple and the fruit around the tree was jet black. Surprisingly, I saw hordes of animals chowing down on the fruit. Not a single fight broke out between any of the animals. There was such an abundance of fruit that the animals had more than enough.

` I was surprised at how peaceful this area was.In the forest there were actual rabbits and majestic deer Where I lived there were bloodthirsty bunnies and zombies with acidic blood. I could hear my stomach growling with hunger as I had my inner monologue. I decided it was time to take advantage of the peace and quiet. I walked over to one of the fallen fruit and bit down.

It was bitter but still tasted good. After I ate the whole thing I moved on to another. After a while a familiar notification appeared in front of me. It left me in shock.

You have acquired the necessary biomass to produce a Dagoon Hunter. Would you like to produce this unit now?

I had thought that we could only gain biomass by eating meat. I was already excited because my body was able to digest fruit. That meant it could be used to feed the Dagoon. Now with the large source of biomass my revenge could come to pass. As I was planning world domination I heard a squeal of distress nearby. A dozen horned rabbits had run in and started killing all the animals. I ran at them using my tail to kill two of them before they noticed. Six of them turned toward me and charged. I smacked one away, breaking its neck but the other five made it close to me. One of them aimed for my shoulder but couldn't penetrate the concentrated amount of scales. The others hit home.

They didn't do much damage as my scales stopped most of their momentum but I still had four horned bunnies currently impaling me. Tote used this opportunity to make his entrance by running over and killing the rabbits stuck on my sides. He used his tail to slit their throats and then yanked their horns out of my stomach. I then killed the last rabbit who had attacked us and took a moment to catch my breath.

You have killed a mature horned rabbit x2: 50 exp

After a few minutes of rest I put my plan into action. Every single Dagoon hunter was called to transport fruit back to the nest. I returned to the nest confident my children would handle it on their own. Brick had grown to what I assumed was his full size so I decided to try commanding him to create the organic building that could produce Dagoons just like me. When I said this a notification appeared.

This building can produce one type of Dagoon. What type of Dagoon would you like it to produce?

I picked Hunter Dagoon as they were the cheapest. My brood spent the whole day collecting fruit while Brick made the building by eating large amounts of fish and mud and throwing it up into a cement-like substance.

The final building looked like a deformed pizza oven. The design was simple, Step one place as much food into the part where pizza would go. Step two wait for any number of eggs to pop out.

We loaded all the fruit into the fertilizing pizza oven and watched as eggs were continuously dumped into the sand. While we did this I had Brick go into my nest and dig a tunnel going in a downward slang that opened up into a large room that would now be known as the hatchery.

After Tote and Blue transported the remaining eggs I counted them and was shocked to see 50 eggs. They would hatch in a day or so and then take about three days to grow up. That meant that in about five days I would have a fully grown army! With happy thoughts of world domination going through my head I went to sleep. Which was promptly disturbed by a horde of horned rabbits flooding into my nest.
