Edward Brown’s POV
We marched through the forest rain falling so hard it felt like getting punched. It had been like this for two days and yet we had not been able to stop and rest. Not even once had we taken our armor off. If we did the enemy could find us and then it would be the end.
Our mission was simple. Murder the large gathering of monsters at the west coastline. We heard reports of giant undead and a large amount of horned rabbits. The 12th regiment had been sent to eliminate the monsters.
The kingdom was 300 years old and only two expeditions were sent into the forest. It was said to be one of the most dangerous and beautiful places in the world. There were trees with so much fruit that many animals could live peacefully under the branches.
I looked around at the other soldiers. 500 were sent and already 50 were dead. But today was the day we reached the beach. We could rest for the first time on this godforsaken trip.
After only five more minutes of walking the trees started thinning out and soon I could smell the salt in the air. The sound of waves crashing onto the beach was beautiful. We stepped onto the glistening white sand just as the rain started to clear up.
I started looking around taking in the view when I saw the commander of the regiment standing still with a look of fear on his face. I followed his gaze out to the ocean and became slack jawed in shock.
A titan bears remains stood in the ocean. Titan bears were the dominant creature. They could kill dozens of people in only a minute. Whatever killed it would have to be insanely powerful. We continued marching on the beach sending out scouting parties. We would need to find a place to camp before we could eliminate the threat. We found a sea cave that was secluded enough and had our soldiers build a camp around it.
In the cave were a large amount of rabbit bones. “Seems like a beast used to live here ay?” Tom walked toward me with a ration in his hands. He broke it in half and gave it to me. I nodded in thanks before walking over to my tent and collapsing.
I sighed to myself as I stared at the ceiling of my tent. My wife was expecting but we didn't have the funds to feed three people. This mission was volunteer only but the extra pay would let us scrape by till our child's adulthood.

I fell asleep to the quiet sound of the waves lapping at the shore. I woke up to screams.
Cate’s POV
The queen had ordered me to help big brother Julius. She said that soon people would come that might be friendly. So I wonder, why are they shooting me? The queen said to patrol and not harm the humans. But the humans are harming me!
I looked around and saw the queen staring at the humans with rage. She always got that look in her eye whenever one of us got hurt. Just yesterday a deer kicked one of my siblings. The queen in all her magnificence ripped it limb by limb while its friends watched. She was so cool!
I started walking back but felt a sharp pain in my foot. The humans stabbed me! I heard mothers voice filled with anger as she gave a single order. “KILL” I ate the human who stabbed me in one gulp. With that one order every single one of us charged. I ran forward and belly flopped on a bunch of them.
I swung my tails around slamming into the new food. I ripped through the enemy angling for one of their leaders. He had shiny armor so I assumed he was the one who was the leader. As I stomped forward I saw a human who looked like he just woke up cleanly cut one of my siblings heads off.
He held a small picture of a human woman in one hand and a sword in the other. He had three of my siblings' corpses surrounding him. I angrily slammed my tails onto the ground making him fall to his knees.
I walked over to the shiny human and picked him up with my mouth. I walked over to the queen and dropped him in front of her “Look my queen! I caught a shiny!” I really wanted her to notice how awesome I was so I waited for her response. When she replied it was warm and caring.
“That's great my child. This gift is amazing. Why don't you finish killing these stupid people and after we can play a little game.” I nodded at this and went back to slaughter.
Edward Brown’s POV
I got to my feet watching the gigantic creature kidnap the commander. It almost looked proud as it dropped him at a majestic looking monster's feet. I threw up then and there. I stumbled backwards but slipped on a puddle of blood and landed hard on my back
I opened my eyes and looked at the half eaten head of Tom. My eyes teared up as I looked away and got back up. Then I ran, I ran as far as I could. I made it into the forest and didnt stop running till I reached the farmlands of Wolford.
I had to warn someone. That there were monsters at the coast. A hoard of unforgiving killers. And they were going to come after us. Once they killed all of the monsters around them they would come after us. And I couldn't let that happen.
