I sighed in disappointment as I watched the humans get slaughtered. I had initially wanted to try to communicate with them but they had started killing my children.

It was a quick battle that ended with massive casualties for the humans. We lost thirty hunters but against such a large force it was fine. I grit my teeth as the bodies are dragged away.

I looked around and noticed that Cate seemed annoyed. “What's wrong my child” I gently said to her, making sure she wasn't too sad about what had happened. “ A human was able to escape. I saw him run into the forest.”

This was not good. The plan was to gather our forces and finish securing the land around us. Then with an army behind me I would attack the human nation. I knew that in order to become a goddess and bring my children back I would need to kill more humans.

At first I was horrified by the thought of this but the more rational part of me took over. To take the continent I would need to kill people. It was a hard truth that I could live with. Especially if the people were trying to kill my children.

As I walked back to my base I saw the familiar floating words and became excited for my new mini objective.

Congratulations on making it this far. Your next objective is to gain a Divine shard. You must also have 5000 Dagoon under your command. Your reward will be a new civilian unit and 400 biomass. You are no longer able to level. You can only gain power by growing your forces or consuming a Divine shard.

I cursed as I read the last part of the new objective. It was bad for all the Dagoon if I couldn't grow in strength. I sulked a bit as I walked home. Stupid all knowing gods. When I got back I instantly went to work.

I ordered for Tote to take a force of 100 hunters to gather biomass. A week passed with our number constantly growing. We used half the biomass to feed us and the rest to make more. By the end of the week we had 500 hunters. I decided that we would wait until we hit 1000 before moving out.

It only took two more weeks for us to double in number. Our formation was simple. Julius would head out first with 100 soldiers. He would kill any enemies in front of the main force. I would follow with the hunters and Cate. I left Trip, Tote and Blue behind to continue growing the colony.

The day came and as I gathered all the hunters Julius set out. After an hour we headed out as well. We didn't know where the kingdom was but we had the gigantic scent trail of 500 people to follow.

I walked in the center of the formation admiring the scenery. The forest almost glowed when the rising sun hit the dew covered grass. I looked at all my children. Most had dark green and blue scales but a few had bright red and orange scales.

As I was admiring my children I heard a loud scream. I saw a small boy with a wooden hunting spear staring at us in shock. I froze up but my hunters didn't. They ran straight at the boy and before I could tell them to stop his guts were spilled onto the forest floor.

I stared in shock for a few minutes before throwing up. I couldn't believe it. Had I caused this? I threw up again when I looked at him. I had always sworn to kill those who touched my children but how was I any different. I had just gotten someone's child killed just because I thought I had the right to become a goddess.

I looked at the body once more before continuing on. I had made a promise. To all the children that died because of me I would bring them back. It didn't matter if it was mine or not, no child deserved to die.

We counted marching and slowly the tree started disappearing. Eventually we entered a rolling pasture where we “borrowed” some cows. We met up with Felix and with one flick of my tail we charged.

We had chosen a small village as our first target. My brood surrounded it and with a roar we charged in. The militia hurriedly tried to fight us but were quickly slaughtered. I don't know how but a fire had started and was quickly devouring the wood and straw houses.

People ran screaming in the streets as Dagoon chased them. I saw an old being dragged away from his house only to get his head ripped off. I looked around and noticed an alarming amount of corpses around one man. He had a sword that was glowing a pale white. I watched a soldier lunge at him but he calmly swiped at it. Next thing I know the soldier's head lands by my feet.

I feel a frenzy take over as I grow in size. I grab a large piece of rubble and hurl it at the man. He slices it in half and then walks toward me. He almost looks bored as he kills any Dagoon in his path.

I knew this would happen eventually. We had run into someone with magic. I ordered Cate and Julius to come over to me. They sprinted over and we quickly surrounded the man. He continued walking towards me. At once we charged.

I sprinted forward shooting my tail out. He dodged to the side but had to leap away when Cate slammed her paws right where he used to be. As he landed Julius slashed at him with his tail cutting him. The man stared at the small scratch in surprise and anger.

He turned and sprinted toward Julius. I however had a plan. I shot my tail into the loose dirt beneath us. Cate saw and started slapping at the man in order to distract him. As he was about to stab Julius my tail shot out of the ground and grabbed his leg.

Unfortunately for him he had been about to dodge a slap from Cate. I let go of the second Cate connected. She had used all her power in that one blow sending the man soaring through the air. He landed right in front of a group of Dagoon Hunters. He had no sword and more broken bones than should have been possible. It seemed his magic enhanced his body making him not die from Cate blow.

However a few minutes with the hunters gave us the result we wanted. I looked around and saw not a single human alive. I had a builder I had brought construct a fertilization chamber for hunters and then set up camp. We could wait here until our numbers increased even more. And with the new camp more Dagoon could be produced to kill all my enemies. I kicked the magic man's corpse and went to congratulate Cate on her kill.
