It felt warm here. I couldn't see anything even when I opened my eyes. But the darkness wasn't frightening, instead it felt comfortable. I tried stretching but my arms hit a wall. I had no idea why there was a wall but for now it was fine. I could probably get out if I started punching and kicking. But as I thought about it I really didn't want to get out. I decided it would be better to rest here.
As I floated around I began to grow bored. I had some strange memories in my head that were not entirely mine so it wouldn't be the worst thing to check them out. One just gave some random stuff about all the types of Dagoon.
However the other memory was far more interesting. It was about magic. I didn't even know what it was but I started getting egg-cited. I giggled over my pun for a minute before focusing again. I was so funny. I looked at the magic stuff and quickly grew more interested.
It seemed like the system was fairly straightforward. You could use magical power in two ways. 1 mediating and refining the mana inside you. And 2 absorbing mana crystals to increase the amount of mana inside of you. Once you absorbed mana it increased your max as when you spent mana it would passively regenerate.

You gotta choose one category of magic. Some were born with it already chosen which happened to be my case. I stopped going through the memories and paused. Was I born yet? I pondered the question for a second before deciding to drop it.
I cursed at my low attention span as I tried focusing back on my magic. It seems that I have been born with soul magic. Basically you could manipulate souls. This led to necromancers and warlocks. There aren't many actual destructive spells but the amount of undead soldiers you could have was staggering.
I started looking through all the spells that I could learn when I had another epiphany. If people can meditate in calm, safe environments. Couldn't I just medatate and refine my mana now?
I quickly began and felt the energy inside me slowly start to smooth out and become less uncontrollable. Now that I was focusing on my inner body it was kinda hard not to notice the amount of mana I had.
I refined my mana for an hour or so before getting bored. The egg wasn't exactly the most interesting place so I looked through the spells to see if I could find a way to look around outside. I found one pretty quickly called soul eye. You basically detach a small bit of your soul off and then combine it with mana to form a floating eyeball.
No one but other soul magic users would be able to see it. I used mana to form a mental scissor as I snipped off part of my soul. I then used the mana scissors as fuel for the eye. After a few tries I had my eye. I looked at the world around me for the first time and felt vastly disappointed.
