Ch 117 Magic Seal

Eventually, the Guider showed me that I had made quite a distance away from the battlefield and to my relief that Royem had also done the same.

I knew that they would be safe in Martial Citadel, and maybe even find precious new opportunities with the City's new growth and prosperous state.

After finding another safe and convenient spot I once again set up camp to wait for tomorrow’s Ranker event nearby.

Royems’ story of the events had unintendedly made me aware and reminded me of a dangerous reality.

As of right now the whole forest and area surrounding the Ranker event was probably swarming with Experts.

After checking my Guider I saw more human life signatures than what you could normally find in a forest, confirming my fear.

Thankfully I saw that despite the numbers there weren’t any in my current vicinity.

Most had already congregated near the area the map had marked out where the Ranker event would be.

I had somehow unconsciously felt it wasn’t such a good idea to get too close to it before the time of the event and my intuition had been validated.

The camping spot I had chosen was also very nicely concealed by the surrounding thick brush and the backside of a big hill.

Now knowing that the Ranker event was happening I decided to plan what I would do tomorrow.

After treating my injuries and eating some food I meditated on the information that I knew or could safely assume.

It seemed to me that the Ranker event wasn’t of too high a level, as even some normal unranked experts had caught wind of it.

That was an educated guess seeing that Tokir had only been an F Ranker and I was almost positive that he had come for the event as well.

Even if that was the case it was probably safer to assume any level Ranker could appear at the event.

But if the Ranker event wasn’t of such high importance that meant most items traded would probably be low-level Ranker items.

But for me, that was still a gold mine if anything it was better, as I probably still couldn’t afford anything that was of too high a level.

If things were like that then that meant that this Ranker event was the perfect one for me.

After thinking of many plausible scenarios I took a break and pulled out the beast sack with Tokirs’ body part inside it.

I looked at the sign that still flashed blue and white and suddenly got an idea.

I took out my Guider and went to the “Magic Scanner Function”. With it, I took a scan of the mark, and to my joy the Guider had a response.

[Low-level Magic seal detected! Accessing known database… seal is known as “Minor Protection Seal” and offers protection from low-level physical damage up to a certain point before breaking… Does the owner wish to scan and save seal construction and makeup?]

[Yes/No]

I immediately said yes after which the Guider scanned the seal multiple times with its Magic Scanner.

Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator.

After each scan it seemed like the seal on the body part skin faded more and more, it seemed to me like the Scanner wasn’t just scanning the seal but absorbing it.

I was surprised that a Warrior like Tokir had managed to acquire such a valuable resource, gaining protection from physical attacks without having to wear too much armor was amazing.

The Guider identified the seal's effect to be low level but I had used a magic-imbued knife powered by my Inner Energy strengthened hand and it still took me four times to break the seal.

To me that kind of protection wasn’t weak, it was invaluable.

If I could find a way to put the seal on myself that would be great.

Suddenly the Guider finished its scanning and simultaneously the seal on the body part was gone.

Suddenly the Guider changed colors and another question popped up on the screen.

[ Does the user desire to imprint a magic seal on the body?]

[Yes/No]

Yet again my dilemma had been solved by my amazing Guider, many times I felt that having such an item had to be considered cheating.

Immediately I said yes and immediately the Guider started to scan my arm multiple times with the same bluish light it had scanned and absorbed the seal.

Suddenly I felt a strange presence inundate my body that made me feel queasy at first but that eventually went away.

After some time the scanner finished using its light and immediately a new prompt came up.

[ Imprinted of “Minor Protection Seal” has been completed… if the user ever needs to imprint seals again user can now find “Magic Imprinter Function” in the Main Menu]

I wasn’t even too surprised with what just had happened, it was like flight to a bird as far as I was concerned, I knew I had barely touched the capabilities of my Guider but whenever I did discover something new it always felt amazing.

I took off my armor in my arm and lifted my robe and there just as it had been on Tokir a Magic Seal could be found glowing bright blue.

I was excited beyond belief and had the urge to test it, but I knew the seal wasn’t completely permanent as eventually with a hard enough impact the seal would break.

So I resisted the urge and left the seal alone; if the day ever came, and I was sure it would, I would then find out if the Scanner's imprinting effect was legitimate.

After acquiring the seal for the body part I no longer had any use for it so I burned it to ash within my campfire to get rid of any evidence that might cause me further trouble.

Rearranging my old and new equipment conveniently I called it a day and turned in for the night.

Sleeping in the wilderness was always scary especially when you were alone but I made sure to have the Guider close to me in case something did occur.

In the end, no harm came my way and I slept in peace for the whole night until the morning.

As soon as the morning came I packed my stuff and immediately set forth toward the location of the Ranker event.
