Perhaps one of Kinis' greatest talents few people knew about was knowing when genuine danger was before him.
Suddenly Kinis became Worried.
He feared he wouldn’t be able to defeat the person in front of him without resorting to his sealed powers. Before he had time to retort, the man before him made his move.
“Defend yourself, War Sage! All moves Shall be for the Kill!”
Suddenly odd spherical gelatinous creatures started emerging from his body, all of them a white color.
At first, they were tiny, but then they ballooned to the size of large dogs, and it wasn't just a few of them, it was as if a large colony of ants was emerging before his eyes.
Soon the Mob of slimy, blobby creatures went after Kinis, killing intent apparent.
Despite Kinis’s surprise, he wasn’t slow to react; he activated his Armory Seal he had created through the Phenom Arts and summoned a pair of elegant-looking blades.
He channeled his Pure War-Spirit energy through the swords, causing the blades to vibrate and oscillate at a precise frequency.
Soon many of the blobs that came close to him started to fall apart and destroy themselves in reaction to the sound, frequency, and energy that was coming forth from the blades.
Simultaneously he activated another new seal he had carved on his armor which summoned an energy shield around him.
Immediately he went on the offensive the two blades sliced through the creatures like butter and instantly vanquished them.
But despite killing large swathes of the white creatures, the numbers were never-ending.
Even worse he noticed the creatures were made of a substance that slowly damaged his weapons and energy shield.
If any of the creatures managed to succeed in their goal of consuming him the damage dealt would not be small.
Through the swarm, he suddenly heard Am’s echoing voice.
“Yes! Yes! Excellent, impressive indeed, I am glad the rumors of your powers being compromised aren’t true. Although the powers I'm seeing are different from the ones I was briefed upon, it seems the information on you having to rely on powerful weapons isn’t true, although those blades are powerful I can see they aren’t the source of your strength.”
Suddenly a shadow emerged from behind Kinis and struck him down with force; Kinis barely managed to detect Am before he activated a SpiritCraft technique, Tactical Jump, that controlled his position in space-time allowing him to make astoundingly fast movements.
Kinis managed to survive but his shoulder suffered serious damage.
The attack was so powerful it instantly shattered his surrounding energy shield and wounded his shoulder.
Had he not escaped the attack, it would have torn him in half.
Although he had augmented his physical body to great levels, it was suddenly clear to Kinis that his Strength, Speed, and Resistance were not a match to the man in front of him.
Before him, he saw the man who had just tried to crush him, lift a disproportionately large hand into the air, before it returned to normal human size.
To Kinis it was obvious the fate of the battle was not in his favor.
In War and Battle, Information was Victory.
He who knew his enemy the best had a better chance of coming out on top.
Naturally, as a War Sage Kinis knew this it was precisely because he ignored this principle, that he ended up getting cursed, and was in the terrible situation he was in right now.
Despite being a newcomer to Potestera, and despite the tribulations, he had managed to learn a lot about the powerful entities that resided in the world.
He knew other sages existed within this world, but their understanding of the Sage Arts was different than what he possessed.
They mostly went after the essence of nature itself, choosing certain common Pathways like the Beast Sage Path, the Elemental Sage Path, or the Plant Sage Path, among others.
When the man in front of him summoned creatures, he figured he was some sort of Beast Sage but his Title and other attributes he demonstrated told him he wasn't completely right.
While he was still trying to figure out his opponent, his opponent seemed to come prepared with knowledge of him and was able to see through all his current techniques.
“Very interesting, so you're a practitioner of the Spirit Arts, for most Sages that isn’t an uncommon Path as most Sages are innately adept at all things spiritual, as for me it isn’t quite to my taste, I’m more a student of the Humanities, the only Spirit I like is the indomitable Human Spirit!”
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Suddenly Am gestured with his hand, and all the white creatures lunged towards Kinis and once in range exploded.
Kinis could slightly discern a very pure and powerful energy source laced within the explosions.
Kinis performed ‘Tactical Jump’ many times, escaping the blast zone, while activating two Seals simultaneously, his ‘Armory Seal’ and another armor seal.
Suddenly his old armor swapped places with an older rougher looking armor.
It was his Pure Resonance Armor, he hoped the frequency shield it created would give him enough resilience against his opponents' attacks.
But as soon as he switched it, a new barrage of different brown-colored energy-filled creatures was shot straight toward him.
The blasts these energy attacks created were extremely powerful but also not very loud or destructive despite their size.
It was as if the surrounding forest absorbed the energy.
The sky was covered with brown-green sacks of energy, it was a genuine artillery barrage of destruction, and there was no escape.
The only lease on life Kinis had, was that his Armors frequency shield was effective at reducing the energy blast damage.
He looked back and other than having his hands raised into the air, Am hadn't moved an inch.
Kinis was getting tired of the humiliation.
He knew his opponent could strike him with a two-pronged attack at any moment, but had withheld from doing so for some reason.
Kinis took it as pure Mockery and his gigantic pride flared up.
He took out many small pins with symbols engraved on them and shot them at Am in a highly technical fashion.
The pins were vibrating at a high frequency after having been activated by Kinis and sliced through the storm of Natural Energy straight at Ams vitals.
Am immediately recognized it as a threat and promptly dodged the attack with absurd speed.
But Am’s smug demeanor suddenly changed when he saw Kinis smirk; immediately he covered himself in an impenetrable sphere of his hair fortified by Natural Energy.
The pins had landed on the ground in a certain order and penetrated the ground before exploding in Pure War-Spirit energy and activating the engraved Phenom Art Symbols.
Suddenly a massive mystic-looking symbol manifested on the ground underneath Am before a giant tower of energy consumed him at the exact moment he finished enveloping himself in his hair.
Mystic Battle Phenom Art, ‘War Trap Annihilating Tower’, is a high-level technique that absorbs all the Battle Essence trapped in the ground throughout the Ages and weaponizes it.
Its power is dependent on how violent a history the field of battle has, and Potestera is a violent place, this War Trap was supercharged.
All the Nature Energy-filled Hyper Fat Cells spread throughout the battlefield and exploded causing a great phenomenon.
Despite the magnitude of the explosion, the surrounding natural environment didn’t receive much harm as it absorbed the energy of the explosion.
The opposite happened: plants grew greener and bigger at an accelerated rate, and the environment became lusher.
Unfortunately, most of the environment became covered in a slimy layer of fat that ruined the aesthetic.
Am emerged from the explosion with half his hair singed off, all of his body extremely burned, and all four of his limbs missing.
For anyone else, this would be game over, but the Seeker himself had hand-picked this Expert for the task at hand.
Something like this was nothing much.
Suddenly all of Am’s injuries started to rapidly heal, and all his limbs grew back along with his hair.
In a matter of seconds, he was as good as new.
But he didn’t stop there.
He wrapped his hair around his body in Armor fashion, and from the palm of his hand emerged a long oddly colored rod, with a warped pointed head.
His countenance was no longer jovial, his look was determined and serious.
“My apologies War Sage Kinis for looking down upon you, but from here on out there will be no more foolishness on my end. In the end, intelligence is not the same as wisdom. So let me rectify the situation.”
Suddenly a couple of holes emerged from his head, and from within whole chains of bright innards spread throughout the sky and swelled in size.
Suddenly a massive electrical charge covered the battlefield.
The sky was reminiscent of an Eldritch apocalyptic scene, as giant Hyper Neurons covered the Sky and even part of the ground.
