Guso didn’t just spark a tradition of giving within the City, something else was spreading like wildfire and could not be stopped.
Soon astounding events started to spread throughout the City, a new batch of geniuses had emerged.
That they were geniuses was not the surprise, despite its hardships, Martial Citadel had a long tradition of nurturing geniuses, the anomaly was that they all originated from one place, the City Slums.
A group of kids from poor Organizations within the Slum, were going around challenging the top students and disciples from different prestigious Organizations, and winning!
Scandalous information like this hadn’t emerged since Guso’s first arrival in the City.
The difference being, instead of one there were many, and they had all banded together so they could not be easily bullied.
It was a group of kids between the ages of 16 to 20 years old, that had long toiled in the Slums practicing and learning what they could.
Through hard work, backbreaking labor, and business activities of all types, shady or not, they had accumulated as many manuals and martial grooming tools as they could acquire, with their own efforts.
They had long known each other in the streets of the Slums and knew that each and every one of them was actually very talented in Martial Arts.
The problem was that they weren’t talented enough to be noticed by the big Organizations, nor had enough resources to make a name for themselves.
They were stuck in unknown mediocrity within the shadows, recognized for their talents within the Slum streets, but nowhere else.
Most of them were beginning to lose hope of even joining the ranks of the respected Experts within the City, but out of nowhere incredible knowledge fell into their laps.
One from their group had found Guso’s box of manuals and, not being one to reject free stuff, took one for each of their group.
Many of them didn’t expect much from the manual especially since it was free, as it wasn’t uncommon to find bogus Martial Arts roaming around the market, trying to trick someone out of something of actual worth, but being in the situation that they were, they really couldn’t afford to discard any possibility of growth.
Besides, all of them had enough knowledge to discern quality martial manuals from useless ones.
At worst they'd throw the manual away or burn to prevent anyone else from wasting their time on it.
But soon they discovered something, the more they read, the more amazed they were.
They couldn’t stop, it was like everything within the manual was information they had long longed for, and that they had finally found.
It was like finding the missing piece to an incomplete puzzle.
The more they read, the more whole and complete did their martial knowledge become.
They had already amassed a good amount of knowledge on all types of Martial Techniques, to the point where they didn’t even know how, or when to use them in battle, but after reading the manual things became different.
All the martial knowledge they had, self organized in their mind’s eye, and soon martial enlightenment came upon them.
Never before had these boys practiced so hard in their life, and consequently receive such bountiful fruits for their hard work and dedication.
They were constantly inventing new move sets and styles, or refining training methods and regiments.
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
The best part about the manual despite its profoundness and value, everything it taught, and all the knowledge it offered was so simple, accessible, and affordable.
They didn’t have to waste a dime on their new journey of improvement.
They had long been under the impression that they had to toil away, gathering whatever money they could, in order to gather the valuable martial resources that helped you improve your strength.
The manual broke that notion.
They had yet to buy any martial supplements and they were experiencing growth like they had never experienced before.
Nevertheless, the manual did include some healing and supplement recipes, in case any of them overexerted themselves, yet they were composed of very cheap ingredients.
Soon they were unmatched within the streets of the Slums.
And so they decided to take their newfound skills and knowledge outside of it.
Despite their fears and trepidation they soldiered forward, and they eventually found that they were a match to even the arrogant disciples of the prestigious Institutions.
More and more Martial duels took place, and more and more victories did they accumulate.
Soon they became a feared group within the martial community, and they had been dubbed, “The Ground Beast Group”.
It was obvious where their martial knowledge had come from, it bore the unmistakable signature Kemoro’s Fighting Method.
Many people were enraged, but it was easy to bully one individual, but not so much a group.
Still, violence did show its face around the City for the first time in a long time, but despite powerful attempts to take them down, the Ground Beast Group held their ground, and found their safe haven deep within the streets of the Slums where they had become kings.
There they established their new headquarters, and there the roots of a powerful new movement was born.
Those who hated Kemoro’s and Guso’s Martial Philosophy found themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Despite their talent, the emerging geniuses weren’t all too strong compared to some of their own geniuses, unfortunately for them martial duels were carried out without weapons and they were ultimately voluntary.
The Ground beast youths turned out to be more sly than they appeared, turning down the challenge from a powerful expert without even batting an eye and fearing no shame or retribution.
But when the hateful Organizations decided to get serious, and attempted to use murderous assaults in order to get rid of the problem before it grew, they realized they had made a grave miscalculation.
It was now the age of Focus Shards and Inner Energy weapons, and those same weapons were now more abundant and available than ever before.
With their astuteness and newfound clout, the Ground Beast youths had managed to accumulate a good amount of Inner Energy Weapons, and perhaps more importantly Inner Energy Resin, to equip their ever increasing numbers.
In martial duels weapons were forbidden, but outside of that all was fair.
The weapons turned out to be more of an equalizer than they thought, and the aggressors of the geniuses suffered heavy losses.
The Mayor became aware of the situation, and immediately put an end to the violence, doubling the security, and imposing heavy sanctions on those involved.
Those who had a grudge had no choice but to back away.
