Golden Breath Villa, recreation center.
*Bam!*
Explosive sounds echoed out in the dojo section of the center. The two figures were moving at an incredible speed while fighting against each other. These two were Amelia and Reina.
*Bam!*
Reina stopped a palm strike from Amelia with a palm strike of her own. The clashes between the palms caused a shockwave to spread out in the room and cause the air to vibrate.
Reina leaped back and swung her arm in front of her.
*Bam!*
Suddenly, it was like she hit an invisible wall as shockwaves could be seen in the air. Amelia leaped to the side and avoided the shockwaves. Behind her, a bench was hit with the waves and immediately burst apart like a balloon, after bending out of shape.
“She can use the Quake techniques now.”
Amelia smiled and stretched her hand out in front of her. A ball of anima appeared in front of her. She threw it up and kicked jumped up as well.
“Killer Shotgun!”
She kicked the ball and it instantly burst into smaller bullets of Anima.
“Like that will work!”
Reina clenched her fist and swung her arm in front of her.
*Bam!*
Shockwaves traveled through the air and hit the bullets of anima. The Anima bullets paused in the air and started twisting and bending out of shape before exploding without coming close to Reina.
“Hm?”
She looked and saw that Amelia disappeared.
“Oh? She’s gotten good at concealing herself.”
She spun around and swung her leg behind her. There, Amelia appeared and stooped under the kick and thrust her palm towards Reina’s chest.
“?!”
Amelia’s eyes widened when her hand passed through Reina like she was a ghost.
*Bam!*
She felt a blow to the back of her head, and her vision became blurry. She fell on the ground with her body stiff.
“That’s how you truly conceal your presence.”
Reina looked down on her and said.
“You make your opponent believe that you’re there when you’re actually somewhere else aiming at their necks.”
“Ugh….”
Amelia started to force herself up with a painful groan.
“Wow, I hit you with the intention of temporarily paralyzing you, but as expected, your will is abnormal.”
Reina praised Amelia while she was forcing herself to stand up. She silently lifted her leg and swung it down.
*Swoosh!*
Her foot hit the ground, completely missing Amelia.
“You can’t move physically, so you use wind to move.”
She looked and saw Amelia floating in the air.
“Ugh, my body still feels numb.”
“Well, I hit your cerebellum so that might be the reason.”
Reina said with a laugh.
“You damn lizard, that was brutal.”
“What was brutal was you trying to hit me with the Crimson Palm Arts. If that had hit, I would’ve lost a lung.”
“You could’ve live with one.”
“I’m really tempted to hit you with a Quake Fist to the head.”
Reina said.
Amelia controlled the wind and allowed her feet to touch the ground.
“Oh, I can move again.”
“Seriously? You’re really to starting to become a monster you know.”
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
“Says the woman who can casually cause earthquakes.”
“Hey, it took a lot of effort to pull it off. Even now it still consumes a lot of Anima to use it once.”
“Still, I can’t use it yet.”
“Yeah, But you’re better at using the Crimson Palm Arts than I am. That’s why Rory said that he might teach you the rest of the Blood Devil School’s techniques.”
“I don’t really want to learn it though. It may be an emperor’s techniques, but I think it will influence me too much if I learn them all.”
“Well, Rory did say that those who master the arts turn into devils.”
Reina sat down on the ground.
“Anyway, let’s talk a break. I’m exhausted.”
Amelia sat down as well.
“Sure. Why not?”
Meanwhile, somewhere in the city.
“This is really a modern city. I wonder if there are many places like this on this continent? I heard that the Beast Continent was mostly wilderness, so I thought that there would be more villages than cities…..Maybe I was being narrow-minded? I’ll try my best to prevent such stereotypical thoughts in the future.”
A man dressed in a black and white suit and carrying a briefcase was walking through the crowded streets of the city. He was tall, slim built, had white hair, dark skin, and golden eyes. He was the man known as the Twilight King Lucian Erebus.
“Um, excuse me.”
He stopped a harpy who was walking next to him.
“Yes.”
“Could you tell me where I can find a nice place where I can eat and stay?”
“Ah, you mean a hotel?”
“Yeah. I’ve been here for a while, but I was too busy searching for someone that I didn’t notice that I hadn’t slept or ate in a while.”
“Ah…”
The woman looked at him weirdly.
“I thought that you would know.”
Lucian looked at the woman from head to toe.
“You might be dressed simple, but your perfume is from an expensive brand. Also, your shoes are a limited edition classic, and your purse is made from genuine leather despite not being flashy.”
“T-That’s some impressive observation skills.”
The woman was surprised by how Lucian was able to dissect her outfit with one look.
“Are you perhaps from the upper class?”
“Well, I am royalty.”
Lucian said with a small chuckle.
“Hahaha, that’s a funny joke.”
The woman then took out a paper and wrote something down.
“This is the address to a nearby hotel. It’s a really good one and is cheap as well, so it won’t hurt your pockets too much.”
“Thank you.”
Lucian took the paper and smiled. He and woman talked for a bit before parting. Lucian didn’t head towards the hotel immediately and continued roaming around.
“They really don’t know when to quit.”
He mumbled while looking behind him through the corner of the eye. Behind him, around 200 meters, there were some men dressed in black. Their eyes were locked on Lucian’s every move.
“I guess they’re a part of this city’s police force. They’re annoying but I guess I can’t just kill them. Well, I can but the repercussions would be a pain in the ass.”
He mumbled.
“I’ll just leave them for the time being.”
*BOOM!*
Suddenly a deafening explosion occurred in the middle of the city. When Lucian looked, he saw a building not too far away from him on fire.
“What’s going on?!”
“It might be dangerous! Let’s get away from here!”
The surrounding people started to panic and run in the opposite direction. Only Lucian stood in place, completely unaffected.
“Oh? A gas leakage?”
He sniffed the air and shook his head.
“I don’t smell any gas.”
Behind him, those who were tailing him sprung into action and started evacuating the citizens.
“Impressive.”
Lucian praised them and turned his attention back to the burning building. He looked in the sky and saw some black particles.
“I don’t think that’s soot…..This smell….Gunpowder?”
He started looking around on the rooftops. He closed his eyes and focused his senses. At that moment, it felt like an invisible pulse was released from Lucian’s body. It was like everything in a two-mile radius was now covered in a dome, and he could see everything from a Birdseye view. He scanned all of the buildings around him one by one until he came across several presences on the roofs of a few buildings.
He opened his eyes and looked towards those roofs, there he saw some men pouring black powder out of some sacks and into the air.
“So it was an act of terrorism. This can cause trouble for me later.”
He lifted his hand and pointed up in the air.
“Sorry, but I’m interrupting your fun.”
*Swoosh!*
Hurricane-like winds suddenly swept through the city and blew all the gunpowder up in the air and outside the city’s reach.
“Wha?! Ahhhh?!”
The men who were sprinkling the powder were lifted off their feet and dragged into the sky. They were like leaves in the wind as they were blown outside the city, never to be seen again.
“That’s better.”
He brought down his hand and continued his stroll.
“Now, where is that hotel?”
Back at the recreational center.
*Bam!*
A burst of flames spread through the dojo causing the temperature inside to rise.
“Wow, her fire leveled up quite a bit.”
Reina said while standing in the center of the flames, looking at Amelia who had created the flames. Reina had activated her Wild Anima and used it to see herself from the from the flames. Amelia, on the other hand, was surrounded by a rainbow-colored glow and a crown mark in her palms.
She was using her Animus, Elemental Queen.
“This is Animus is really something else.”
Reina released the condense Anima around her and looked like she was inside a dragon’s head.
“It makes the best spar partner too!”
She explosively kicked off the ground and charged at Amelia, who quickly conjured dozens of lightning balls around her. She waved her hands and the lightning balls all charged towards Reina.
*Roar!*
The dragon head around her released a deafening roar, and Reina leaped into the air. She started to kick away the lightning balls like they were ordinary balls and then stretched her arm out towards Amelia. Dozens of anima dragons charged at Amelia.
“Windbreak!”
Amelia stretched her hand in front of her and storm like winds condensed into a single pillar and ripped the dragons apart and hit Reina.
“Ugh?!”
The wind pillar forced Reina back until she slammed into a wall.
“So annoying!”
Wild anima wrapped around Reina’s arm and transformed it into a metallic dragon arm. She roared and swung her claws and ripped the wind pillar apart.
“?!”
However, she was immediately greeted by a gigantic bull made of fire and earth.
“She’s really going all out!”
Reina transformed her other arm into a metallic dragon’s arm and used both of them to forcibly stop the bull by its horns.
“Oooooooohhhhh!”
She roared and lifted the bull and threw it back at Amelia, who avoided it by moving like the wind.
*Bam!*
Reina slammed her metallic fists together and glared at Amelia. The two then resumed their battle.
“Whew~. They sure are going all out.”
Rory who was hiding in the shadows watching the girls looked at them with satisfaction.
“But I gotta say though.”
He placed his hand on the ground.
“Despite how wild they’re getting, this place doesn’t have a scratch on it. It must’ve been made with some pure Animite. It would probably take my entire Demigod strength to destroy it.”
He smiled.
“Just what kind of person could’ve built this villa? They gotta be extremely rich and powerful.”
He stood up.
“I’m dying to know.”
