Rory and the girls took a few days to gather up everything they needed for their trip to the Kashmir. Rory also finished customizing the Transit Snake, and they all were currently in it.
“You guys ready to go?”
Rory asked. The girls nodded, and Rory faced forward and looked towards the front of the snake. His body gave off a sudden golden glow, which also covered the entire snake. It disappeared and Rory showed a smile.
“Submerge!”
He shouted an order, and the snake roared in response before diving. Once they dove, the girls could feel the temperature inside dropping, but only by a little bit.
“How does this snake know where to go? Did it go to the Kashmir Continent before?”
Reina asked.
“Nope. I’m steering it.”
Rory sat on one of the furniture and replied, while reading a comic he bought.
“Steer it? How?”
“With one of the Regal Powers, Link.”
Link, like Future Sight and Sensor was one of the powers which proved that one had the qualifications of a king. While Future Sight grants Precognition and Sensor is like a radar, Link allows the user to link their senses with a living thing.
“I’m seeing what it’s seeing, while directing it where to go.”
Rory explained.
“You can do that? That’s insane.”
Said Amelia.
“It’s not really hard to do once you’ve mastered Link. You only need to get the living being’s permission, and you’ll be able to link to it. However, I don’t really need permission. I can forcibly hijack their senses and control them if I want.”
“Don’t ever do that with us.”
The girls could imagine all kind of stuff Rory would make them do if he hijacked their senses and control them.
“But if you can use Link like that, then isn’t it the best out of the four Regal Powers?”
“That depends on the person. Personally, while Link can be terrifying if used by a master, I prefer Ajna, because it deals with the spirit.”
Rory replied.
“Speaking of which, Reina, are you able to use any of the Regal Powers?”
“I can use Sensor and Future Sight.”
“You can use both?”
Amelia was shocked to hear this, because that meant that Reina was a Two Directional King, who could rule in two directions at once.
“I figured as much. Considering the lifestyle you’ve lived before, unlocking Future Sight and Sensor isn’t surprising. In fact, it’s said that those two are the easiest to awaken and most common Regal Powers.”
“Why does it feel like you brought down my value just now?”
Reina was displeased with Rory’s attitude.
“I’m not, really. I have a certain saying about the Regal powers and the type of people who unlocks them as their first power. Sensor is for those who are sensitive to their environment, and Future Sight is for those who are sensitive to change. All in all, those two powers are awakened by people who makes it a habit to observe their surroundings. That’s why most warriors unlock these powers first.”
The girls nodded because they could understand the logic behind that. Rory continued.
“As for those who active Link, I believe those people are free spirits or whimsical like a beast. They see things on a boarder scale, and have a natural thirst for adventure. This is the reason why they can resonate which other living things to the point they can see things through their mind.”
“Then, what about Ajna? Are you going to say that those are kind-hearted people?”
Rory shook his head at Amelia’s question.
“Kindhearted? From what I can see, all those who’ve unlocked Ajna as their first power are all manipulative.”
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
His response came as a surprise to the girls.
“Even though it has to do with matters of the hearts?”
“It’s specifically because of that reason.”
He replied.
“Think about it? To be able to truly manipulate others, you must understand the heart, the spirit, and the mind to some degree. You must be able to figure out people’s desires and emotions in order to make them do as you want. Doesn’t Ajna seem like the perfect power to do that?”
“………”
“Don’t get me wrong. Just because they’re manipulative, doesn’t mean that they’re evil. The so-called Kindhearted people can also manipulate others and bring more good than harm. For example, let’s say one of them wants to prevent a war? They can manipulate those fighting to prevent that outcome, and still remain pure. It all comes down this really.”
He paused and then said-
“Good or evil doesn’t really exist. It all comes down to people’s desires in the end, and how others response to them. So Ajna is both good and evil, it just depends on how you look at it.”
The girls thought about what he said, and had to admit that what he said made sense.
“Then was Ajna the first power you awakened?”
Amelia asked.
“Me?”
Rory smiled.
“Yeah. Ajna was the first power Rory unlocked.”
According to Rory, the trip to the Kashmir Continent would take nearly a week. This was because the Kashmir Continent was extremely far away from the Raknor Continent that they were on before.
It was now their second day under the sea. They were about 10,000 meters underwater. Even so, they didn’t feel any pressure, and the snake was holding up rather well.
“Say, how many continents are there?”
Amelia asked, while doing some push ups to keep herself fit.
“What kind of question is that? Surely someone your age would know how many continents they are in the world.”
Reina mocked her.
“I know of 4, but there were so many things which I didn’t know about or was ignorant towards, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more than 4.”
“Nonsense. There are indeed four. Raknor, Kashmir, Astra, and Caspian.”
“Actually, there are indeed more than four.”
Rory said.
“What?!”
“I knew it!”
The girl’s reactions were surprise and excitement.
“Well, you two not knowing isn’t that surprising since the others are more of a legend than accepted facts.”
Rory replied before putting up some fingers.
“The Human Continent, Raknor. The Wild Continent, Kashmir. The Sky Continent, Astra. The Water Continent, Caspian. These are the four that you and most of the world are familiar with. However, that’s only because the Sacred Race erased the existences of the others from the minds of the public and history itself.”
“They can do that? How?”
“How? Destroy every document that lists the continents and write new ones, kill those with proof that those continents exists, and enforce false information until its accepted as the truth. There are many ways to do this if you rule the world. It’s literally a case of the winners are the ones who write history.”
He said.
“Anyway, after the disappearance of both the Sacred God and the Night God, the Sacred Race decided to hide the existences of a few continents.”
He then looked at the girls and asked a question.
“Humans live on Raknor, Beasts dominate Kashmir, both Astra and Caspian are seen as neutral zones. Then, what about the Sacred and Night Races? Where do they reside?”
“?!”
A look of shock appeared on the girls faces. They just realized that they never actually thought about it.
The Sacred race ruled the world so it was thought that they lived where ever they chose. While the Night Race were mysterious, and were thought to be hiding in the shadows of the world. So not many actually gave a lot of thought about the whereabouts of those two races.
Rory smiled when he saw there reactions.
“Licht and Noctis, these are the names of the continents where the Sacred and Night race lives, respectively. Just so know, these are also the names of the Sacred King and Night King, who rule each race.”
“Where are they?”
“Can’t say. They’re not places anyone can just go.”
Rory showed a sly smile. It was obvious he didn’t intend to reveal the locations of these two continents to the girls.
“Fine. Then they’re only 6 continents then?”
Rory shook his head again.
“There’s also the Taboo Continent aka the Ancient Continent.”
“Taboo?”
The girls were confused by the naming choose of this Continent.
“I can’t really speak much about this Continent since I’ve never seen it. However, it’s the continent that’s said to hold the key to the world. As for what that means, I don’t know. Many believe that it has something to do with Godhood.”
“Why would they think that?”
“That’s because, both the Sacred and Night God are said to originate from there.”
“Wha?! Both gods came from the same place?!”
“People must be swarming it!”
Rory shook his head.
“Going to that Continent is considered suicide. It’s way too dangerous. So much that even I didn’t dare go there with the strength that I had back then.”
The girls were once again shocked to hear that. They’ve both witnessed Rory’s real strength, yet, even he didn’t carelessly go to the Taboo Continent. That speaks volumes as to what kind of place it truly was.
“Do you believe that the key to Godhood is on that continent?”
Reina asked.
“Who knows? It might be, but I love my life too much to try it. I won’t go there until I’m 100% certain I can make it back alive.”
“For example?”
“When I’m a god.”
Rory started laughing after saying that. He then stopped reading the comic in front of him. He has been reading a lot of them since they entered the snake.
“Godhood huh? It’s something that no one has been able to achieve in thousands of years, and only two in millions. It would be fun to reach it.”
“You don’t seem confident about becoming one. Aren’t you already on the path?”
Amelia asked.
“Yeah. But the path is long and endless. Not to mention that they’re others further up the path than I am. If one of them do become a god, do you think that they’ll let their former rivals live? I wouldn’t. I would slaughter everyone on the path to become a god. This is so that I won’t end up like the Night God.”
He replied.
“Well, if I want to live a long life, I have no choice but to become a god before everyone else.”
“You speak as if there might be a new god soon.”
Reina said.
Rory smiled and-
“Not might, there will.”
“Huh?”
“This generation is by far the most gifted of all the previous ones after the gods disappearance. The chances of a god being born in this generation are almost certain.”
The girls gulped when they heard. Rory laughed and said-
“The battle for Godhood could happen any day now.”
