Chapter 27: Bunny and Slime

“Just relax. Don’t freak.” Viola’s right hand (a small tremor evident in it) hovered near the handle of her sheathed Stone’s Bane Sword. She cautiously watched the deceptively gorgeous woman before her, her green eyes wide, her face pale. “She flooded the city, she ate Rumu, and she had killed me back when I was still Peter. Do I even stand a chance against such a monster?” A bead of sweat dripped from her chin, her heart rate picking up.

“You’re afraid, aren’t you?” the slime queen mused, her pink eyes on the girl. She took a step forward, her ankle length pink locks swaying, the bunny girl before her quivering.

“Stay back!” Viola blurted out, drawing her blade on instinct, mentally kicking herself soon after. “What was I just saying about not freaking? Too late, I guess.” The clearly shaky bunny girl readied her weapon, attempting but failing to look intimidating, her bunny ears twitching nervously.

“The bunny wants to bare her fangs, doesn’t she?” Ri took another step forward as she spoke, her pink eyes still on Viola.

Viola faltered, nearly dropping her sword. Somehow, that one motion (that one step) from the slime queen had broken through her bluster, but luckily, she managed to recover. Raising her weapon once again, she pointed it with a tad more confidence at the pink abomination in human form.

“Do you want to die?” Ri reached the other woman, pushing the unsteady blade aside. “Do you want me to eat you?” The slime queen now stood so close to the bunny girl that she could feel said bunny girl’s panicked breaths. She pressed even closer, leaning towards the other woman’s ear. “You really do look delectable?”

“Delectable?” A primal sense of terror flooded through her. “Delectable?” Tears began flowing from her eyes. “Delectable?”

Ri reached around Viola, pressing herself against the other woman’s Salamander Skin Armor. “You look positively delicious.” Her right hand deformed into a translucent mass of pink goo, reaching into various gaps in the orange haired woman’s armor.

“Delectable?” The bunny girl’s emerald eyes stared blankly forward, their gaze unfocused, tears streaming down her cheeks. “Delectable?” She felt the slime queen’s goo pressing against her skin beneath her armor, a feeling of revulsion coming over her. “She’s really going to eat me.” Mustering up every bit of strength she could, she finally managed to swing her sword, but the slime queen simply caught the blade with her left hand.

“Come now, bunny. You’ll need more bite than that.” The slime woman’s left hand began to deform, engulfing the silvery blade. “Maybe I should eat this.” Her pink goo wore at the weapon, deteriorating it further. “Should I finish this snack,” she whispered in the bunny girl’s ear, “or just have the main course?” Her goo pulsed beneath Viola’s armor to emphasize the point, having already eroded away various chunks of said armor.

Chapter 28: Bunny, Cat, and Slime

“I should probably step in before this gets any more out of hand.” Eks sighed, her ruby eyes watching as Viola’s armor became more risque by the second. “Yup. Should definitely step in before that armor of hers gets any more revealing.”

“Hey, Ri! That’s enough! Back off!” The cat girl strolled towards the slime woman, a scowl on her face.

Ri looked up, her pink eyes meeting the cat girl’s red. “You want me to stop? But why? She’s show delicious.” Her goo continued to flow beneath Viola’s Salamander Skin Armor, slowly eroding said armor further.

“Just stop before you render her naked.”

“So it’s fine if I eat her then?”

“Don’t eat her either.”

“Don’t eat her armor! Don’t eat her! What am I supposed to eat?” The slime queen huffed pulling away from Viola and fully taking on her human form.

Now free, the bunny girl scrambled to the side, her cheeks still wet with her tears. Nervously, she pointed her now very damaged Stone’s Bane Sword at the pink-haired woman, the weapon visibly shaking in her grip. She took a shaky step back, putting a bit more space between her and the monster of goo, her face pale.

“Maybe she wants me to eat her.”

“Sheath it, Vi. I got this.”

Viola did as ordered or at least tried to. Her hand still quivering, she attempted to return her Stone’s Bane Sword to its sheath. Instead of the expected result (a sheathed weapon), the darn blade shattered, the handle slipping from her hand. Well, the blade had pretty much been on the verge of shattering, so she shouldn’t really be all that surprised. Closing her green eyes, she dropped to the tunnel floor, her butt plopping down on her heels, the strength draining out of her.

“You got this, do you?” Ri grinned, sauntering up to the blue-haired cat girl, closing the gap between them. “Just what are you going to do to me?” The slime woman placed her arms around Eks, Eks not resisting. “Perhaps kiss me.”

“No. We broke up. Remember?”

Ri froze before pulling back, a look of horror on her face. “Surely, you don’t mean that. We’re perfect for each other.”

“I’m serious. I didn’t break up with you as a joke. I actually broke up with you.”

“But if I eat the bunny girl, we can get back together, right?”

“Stop trying to eat my girlfriend already.” Eks facepalmed in exasperation. “Eating her will not get us back together. I repeat, eating her will not get us back together.”

“Fine. Fine. I’ll stop trying to eat the bunny girl and accept the …” Ri stopped short, not wanting to say the next word.

“Accept the what?”

“I’ll accept the breakup.” Ri finally stated, sighing afterwards. “But could you give me a little kiss in exchange?”

“Heck no!” Eks crossed her arms, glaring at the slime woman. “What part of ‘break up’ do you not understand?”

“Sorry. Sorry,” Ri apologized. “But if I can’t have you, can I at least travel with you two? Me, you, and your bunny girl girlfriend. It will be great. I’ll make sure nothing comes between you two, and I mean nothing.”

“Bad idea! Bad idea!” Viola blurted out, interjecting herself into the conversation. “This is most definitely a …” The bunny girl froze up when she noticed the slime queen glaring daggers at her.

“One moment. Just let me discuss this with Vi.” Eks grabbed her girlfriend, tugging the bunny girl to the side to speak a tad more privately with her.

“It’s not such a bad idea,” the cat girl whispered, her tail swishing.

“But she tried to eat me,” Viola complained in response, keeping her voice down. She nervously glanced at the slime queen, shivering at the thought of the pink-haired woman devouring her.

“Well, at least she shouldn’t be trying to eat you if she starts traveling with us. That’s something, isn’t it?”

“I see your point. You’ve convinced me, but if she goes right back to trying to eat me, we’ve got to ditch her.”

Eks smiled, her cat ears twitching, her red eyes sparkling. Taking Viola’s hand, she strolled back to Ri, pretty much dragging the orange-haired bunny girl along with her. “We’ve decided. Welcome to the team, but don’t forget that we’ve broken up. Vi’s my girlfriend now, not you.”

“Right. Right. I won’t forget.” Ri smirked, clasping her hands together, her pink eyes going to Viola. Behind the slime queen, Elron and Elise looked at one another uncomfortably, not sure of how to feel about this turn of events.

“Can you all just leave already?” an anguished voice, that of the mole queen, called out. She sat against the wall, having stopped crying, a distraught look to her.

“You heard the woman,” Ri spoke up, her voice way to cheery for the scenario. “Let’s move out!”
