The bunny girl swung her Stone’s Bane Sword, its silvery blade glistening. The armored spider of gargantuan proportions countered with a swing of a mighty leg. Leg met sword, sparks flying as the two combatants dueled for supremacy. Both pressed forward, refusing to give an inch.
The pressure mounted, but Viola held her ground (her emerald eyes filled with determination). The ground chipped away (not just under her but also under her foe) as the two attempted to overwhelm each other. Neither quite made any headway, both of them being forced back ever so slightly. The point of impact between them did not shift though. It may as well have been an immovable wall, refusing to budge in the slightest.
The two separated, leaping back, putting distance between one another. Viola then rushed forward, her orange hair swishing, her weapon glinting. They met again, more sparks flying. Strike after strike flew as the bunny girl went on the offensive. The spider met each of the girl’s swings yet found itself being forced back bit by bit.
Rumu roared, lashing a leg out, attempting to gain the upper hand. Viola dodged with a quick sidestep, the tunnel rumbling as the mighty spider’s strike bit into the tunnel floor. Her blade sliced into a joint in its outstretched leg, carving out a nasty gash. The beast hissed, drawing back with a slight limp, blood running down its wounded leg.
“That natural armor it has is strong but not perfect. It does have weak spots. Guess I really can do this.”
Viola dashed forward, attempting to once more get into melee range. Her dash, though, was stopped by a flurry of frantic leg swipes. She parried, feeling the impacts reverberate throughout her as her sword met the blows. Finally, sword and spider leg met in another static competition of strength.

Once more, the two held their grounds, pressing into their attacks. Viola dug in her heels, the ground chipping beneath her, a freakishly massive spider before her. “I can do this! I won’t lose to this thing!” The spider’s leg inched back (actually starting to budge), but then a sharp cracking sound came to her ears.
“Oh crud!” A hairline fracture had opened in her blade, a hairline fracture so small she may not have noticed it if it wasn’t for that sudden sound. “I have to admit that I totally did not expect for my freaking weapon to fail me!” Now she could feel every bit of stress the metallic weapon was under as it butted up against such a strong force. “No! It’s not over! I don’t care how strong this beast is! I refuse to lose!”
Viola broke through, her damaged blade slicing not into a joint but right through the monstrosity’s armor instead. The great beast faltered, screeching in pain, a good portion of its leg falling away. Rumu stumbled back (now somewhat lighter), a look of disbelieving shock in its eyes.
The bunny girl held her Stone’s Bane Sword up, examining the weapon’s blade. The fracture in it had worsened a tad, but at least the sword was still in one piece. “Guess I’ll need to end this fast if I don’t want this thing to break on me or something.” Suddenly, a thread of web to her sword left her empty handed, her green eyes following her airborne weapon as it sailed across the tunnel and then clattered to the rocky floor.
“Well, that seems about right. Guess I should have been paying a bit more attention to the spider.”
