When Lukas arrived at the store, he found some customers standing outside. There were two men with rough appearances, like two delinquents. They seemed impatient.
Lukas then began recording. He had a feeling that something interesting might happen.
"Excuse me, is the store not open?" Lukas asked, with no emotion in his voice. As he held a sword and acted so calmly, the men realized getting involved with Lukas wouldn't be good.
"We were hoping to sell some things, but it seems closed," the man politely replied to Lukas.
Lukas finally noticed a black bag on the ground next to the man. Due to the bag's irregular shape, it was probably filled with various items. Lukas even thought about asking the men to take a look but dismissed the idea.
"I see. Then I'll come back tomorrow."
"Wait a second." The other man, who had been silent before, stopped Lukas.
"Hm?" Lukas turned his face towards the man. His cold eyes made the man feel quite uneasy.
"I just wanted to ask what you came here for. We have some interesting things to sell. Maybe you might be interested in something. You're a player, aren't you?" The man's eyes were focused on Lukas's sword.
"Yes, I recently became a player. However, I didn't come here to..." Lukas was about to say he didn't want to buy anything but avoided saying that. "What are you selling? Weapons?"
"We have weapons and some armor. Most are old, but some are still in good condition."
"I see."
The man opened the black bag and took out a black leather armor. It has a simple design but is very beautiful, mainly because of the black color.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
It was a color Lukas liked.
'But if I wear this, won't I look too "dark"? This sword already makes me look like an assassin.' Lukas smiled internally.
"How much do you want for this set of leather armor?"
"You can take everything for $50, alright, brother?"
"Ah, yes, alright. But we don't accept returns."
"Don't worry. I won't ask for my money back." Lukas only wanted temporary armor. He would exchange this armor in the future.
"Alright. Where's the money?"
"Here it is." Lukas took $50 from his wallet and handed it to one of the men. They checked if the bill was counterfeit and then gave the armor to Lukas. "The material is good, and it's not too damaged. Besides, it seems like it will fit me well."
He was satisfied with it.
And after selling the armor to Lukas, the men decided to leave. And shortly after they left, the store's door opened.
"Come in, kid."
"I knew you were in there." Lukas had seen something moving inside the store through the small window next to the door, so he knew someone was inside. That's why he didn't leave like the two men.
"Hahaha. Well, what's this? Did you buy that?"
"What's wrong? Isn't it good?"
"It's not that; it's just that this armor is probably stolen. I don't like doing business with those guys because of that."
"Stolen?"
"Exactly. Those two brothers always do that. They steal items from other players to sell in shops like mine. I stopped accepting their items after being approached by a player whose belongings were stolen."
"I see."
"I hope you don't get chased by the owner of that armor. Anyway, it looks like cheap armor. I don't think the owner will come after it."
"Alright. But I don't care much about that. Now, let's do business?"
"Come in. I wanted to talk to you about the potions." The old man had a creepy smile on his face. Greed could be seen in his eyes.
Lukas entered and placed his backpack on the counter again. He took out the ten potions one by one. He had five healing potions, two strength-boosting potions, and three magic power-boosting potions.
"Wait a minute. First I want to talk to you about something. How about becoming my supplier? The man I work for was very impressed with your potions."
"Your supplier? I'm sorry, but that will be impossible."
"Can you tell me why?"
"I don't intend to make it my job. I'm just selling these potions to make some money to get good equipment for going into a dungeon."
"A dungeon? I thought your class was an alchemist."
"My class is a secret. So, are you going to buy these potions or not? $200 for each of them, just like last time."
"Haa~~" The old man sighed and carefully examined all the vials. "Alright, $200 each. But are you sure you don't want to supply me with these potions? You could make a fortune with it."
"I don't intend to do that."
"Alright, it's a shame." The old man was disappointed. He then took out 2000 dollars and handed it to Lukas before storing the potions in the back of the store.
Lukas counted the money and saw that it was all there. But before leaving the store, the old man called him again.
"If you change your mind, come back here. Anyway, I hope you do well inside the dungeons." The old man gave a sincere smile to Lukas. Lukas nodded silently and left the store.
The old man locked the store and entered the door behind the counter, where he had left the potions.
It was a small and simple room. It had some shelves. It's a storage room for items, but the things inside were higher quality than the ones on display in his store.
"It's a shame. I'll talk to him about it, but I'm sure he'll force me to bring this kid to our guild."
The opportunity was too good for him to pass up.
