Chapter 5 - First video.

Chapter 5 - First video.

Lukas sat down on a bench in a nearby plaza close to the association to start editing his video. He chose the quietest spot with the fewest people around. The only person nearby was a child playing with a ball.

He cleared his throat and opened his system.

The video was already saved, so he imported it into the editor. The recording started when the man forcefully grabbed Lukas's shoulder and ended when the man and woman were thrown out of the building.

Lukas finished the recording before his conversation with Elis began.

"Alright, what can I do here? Adding music would interfere with the video since viewers could not hear the players around me." The players said interesting things about Lukas and were impressed with his actions.

Lukas didn't want to remove it because he enjoyed having his ego boosted. He loved being praised by others.

"The only thing I can do here is focus on my punch and put it in slow motion to show it clearly." Lukas thought it was a good idea.

First, the video would show the punch at normal speed, and then there would be a slow-motion replay showing every detail of what had happened. After that, the video would continue at the normal speed.

The video was less than five minutes long, so that the retention rate would be low and probably only be shown to a few people. Still, Lukas thought it was good enough for his first video.

He hoped to get a few likes, at least. It's a "test."

"Now that the video is ready, I need a name for my YouMedia channel... But I can't think of one." Lukas was never good at choosing names.

Lukas searched his mind for a word he had seen on the internet some time ago, "Surmaingel." It was a name that meant "Angel of Death" in a language he couldn't remember.

"Angel of Death, isn't that a somewhat embarrassing name?" Anyway, Lukas chose that option. He could change the name of his YouMedia channel in the future, so it not matters.

As for the profile picture, Lukas left it blank.

"Alright, the video title will be..." Lukas came up with a simple name. [New Player and His Perfect Punch - Confusion in the Main Association Building.] It was a straightforward name that described exactly what happened in the video.

Lukas didn't write anything in the video description.

The system automatically chose the thumbnail for the video. The frame was perfect. It showed Lukas's fist hitting the man's chin, and his face distorted.

"I guess I should add some hashtags to get more visibility. People do that." Lukas added as many viral hashtags as possible and then posted the video on YouMedia.

His first video.

He wasn't very proud of it being his first video, but he just wanted to get some likes.

"Now, it's time to wait for the results. I better not get my hopes up too much." Lukas stood up and grabbed his phone. He opened the YouMedia app and noticed his phone automatically logged into his new channel.

"Is my system YouMedia itself or something like that?" Lukas couldn't help but find it suspicious and fascinating at the same time. It was incredible that he had received a system like this.

Lukas returned home at his usual time to prevent his mother from discovering he hadn't gone to class. Since his mother was a housewife, she was always at home.

"How was it? Did you work hard?" She took Lukas's coat.

"Yeah, yeah..."

"You don't seem very excited. What happened? You're always enthusiastic when you come home because you hate going to class." His mother gave a bitter smile. She knew how much Lukas disliked studying.

But his father made him do it. And she supported it because she wanted her son to have an excellent job in the future.

"It's nothing." Lukas threw his backpack on the couch and grabbed a snack from the kitchen before heading to his room.

He was feeling down because his video was a complete failure. Even after almost four hours, the video had only received a measly 11 views and not a single like.

Lukas felt quite frustrated.

He tossed the snack onto his bed and turned on his computer.

His computer had also automatically logged into his channel. He opened his channel's homepage and looked at the only video posted five hours ago. "Hmm?" Lukas raised his eyebrows.

"Didn't it have only 11 views when I checked before coming home?" Lukas clicked on the video and saw that it now had [387] views, along with a total of [17] likes and [8] comments.

[ Wow, who is this? Is he a new player? His move was so clean and fast I could hardly keep up! ]

Lukas read the first comment, which had two likes, and smiled.

The other comments were similar. Everyone was praising the punch Lukas had done. There was even a comment celebrating the fact that the man got punched.

Maybe this person knew him?

"But if I got 17 likes, why didn't I receive any notification from the system?"
