Chapter 10 - First dungeon. First kill.

Chapter 10 - First dungeon. First kill.

"Alright, I already have armor and also a sword. I should go to a dungeon now. But I first need to go to the association." Lukas needed to obtain authorization first.

Unlike [ Breaks ] that could happen, and players could face them without authorization (since they needed to protect the population), entering a dungeon required authorization.

You can only obtain authorization to enter low-ranked dungeons if you're a low-ranking player like Lukas. You must form a qualified group if you want authorization to enter a higher-rank dungeon.

Lukas, who was near the association, went straight there.

The line was shorter than before, so it took little time for him to be attended to.

"Excuse me; I would like authorization to enter the dungeon of the dying goblins."

"A Rank G dungeon, is that correct?"

"Exactly."

"Alright, where is your identification card?"

The receptionist received Lukas' card, and after working on the computer for a few minutes, his authorization was complete. She printed a paper, which was the authorization.

"Go carefully."

"Don't worry."

Lukas said goodbye to the receptionist and put the hood back over his head. He noticed some glances but ignored them and headed towards the [Dying Goblins] dungeon.

A Rank G dungeon, and as the name suggests, all the monsters living in it were goblins. Weak goblins that an E-ranked player like him would easily defeat. It was a dungeon exclusively made for beginners.

'I could go to an E-ranked dungeon, but starting with a slightly easier dungeon is better. I want to test the level system. I need to understand the experience system.'

He wanted to know how much experience he would gain from killing weak monsters and how much was needed to level up.

The dungeon [Dying Goblins] was close, located in a large empty lot north of the city. Before the disaster occurred, it used to be a grand building housing a famous bank.

When the dungeon appeared, the building was destroyed, and no wreckage was left.

The area was protected by a sturdy wall in case monsters tried to escape the dungeon, and guards were at the entrance. Lukas approached, carrying his sword with a serious expression on his face.

He didn't seem interested in talking to the guards, but it was necessary.

"Here you go." He handed over the authorization to enter the dungeon. The armed guard looked Lukas up and down and clicked his tongue. Then, he was allowed to enter the large empty lot.

As soon as he entered, some glances fell upon him.

"What's this? A meeting of losers?" Lukas sarcastically commented on the situation. Several players were sitting on the ground, injured and tired. "Did they struggle to kill goblins? There must be something wrong."

Goblins were weak monsters, especially the goblins present in this dungeon.

And there were groups of injured players. He was sure something strange was happening, but his feet kept moving toward the grand portal.

The grand portal shimmered in a striking purple, releasing cold air toward Lukas' face. Lukas took a deep breath, and the cold air penetrated his lungs. A smile appeared on his face, and he started recording.

"Welcome to my first dungeon raid. It's just a Rank G dungeon, but I'm learning how dungeons work now. So please be patient."

Lukas spoke to his viewers. He decided to comment at specific moments to entertain his viewers and inform them about the situation.

Of course, he was lying. He already understood how dungeons worked since he had studied much about them before becoming a player.

"Let's go." Lukas smiled (which his viewers couldn't see) and entered the portal. As soon as he entered, the cold he felt before completely disappeared, and now the humidity started to bother him.

He had entered a large, damp cave with moss covering its walls.

The environment also stank. It smelled like a damp sock lying in the room's corner for several days. It was genuinely torturous, and he wanted to cover his nose.

But he didn't complain and moved forward.

"This dungeon is just Rank G, but something strange is happening. I didn't show you guys, but many players were injured outside. Isn't that strange?" Lukas said as he took slow steps down the large stone corridor.

No monsters had appeared yet.

"At first, I thought they might just be very incompetent, but on second thought, it doesn't make sense for a group to get injured within this dungeon. Unless they forged their authorizations and entered here."

But Lukas dismissed that possibility; it was unimaginable.

"But let's stop talking and move forward. My agility isn't very high yet, but I want to see how fast I can move." Lukas removed his hood and rubbed his sneakers against the floor.

Then, he took a deep breath, holding his sword in his right hand, and began to run.

Lukas advanced quickly, much faster than he expected.

Then, he encountered the first monsters—three of them.

Small monsters with a grotesque appearance. Green, repulsive skin covered in disgusting purple warts that would make a "sensitive" person vomit just by looking at them. Their yellow eyes noticed Lukas.

Lukas felt an excitement he had never felt before.

His short sword struck the neck of one of the goblins without the monster reacting at all. Lukas approached with a graceful motion as if he were floating just above the ground, and with a clean cut, purple blood stained the dungeon walls.

The goblin's vision spun; its head flew from its body and fell at the feet of its companions.

"Yes, this is what I wanted." A chilling smile appeared on Lukas' face.
