“...Why am I spending the rest of the day here?”

“Because~ you have a cute partner and she asked you out for a drink of course!”

...Who calls themselves cute?

“ Bartender! Another one!”

…Sigh.

The bartender brought us our drinks. For some reason, she kept giving me a strange look. And lashing her eyelids often

“Thanks.” I simply responded to the waiter.

“...NOPE!” she suddenly yanked the drinks from my hands. She seemed a bit annoyed about something.

“Bartender! A bottle of vodka!” She demanded.

“...I really don't see the point in this.”

“Stop fussing and drink! Cheers!”

“GGivve up… Yo*hic* -old drinks to welll~.”

*sigh* “I told you this was a poor Idea… Come on, I’ll help you home.”

“Thnk Tin*hic* biy?… Biu?.. Boy..”

*sigh* Here. I’ll support you so let's go...

I help her out of the bar and drive her to her home.

“Is this your place?”

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

“Yess *hic* te key is undr the Ma*hic* mmmmat..”

… She is too wasted to get anywhere herself..

I carried her through her house to her bed.

“There, you are home so sleep now. Okay?”

“Kkkay~... thnks Tin-tin…”

*sigh* “Just sleep okay?” I said as I turned to leave the room.

“Tin…..”

“Hm? What is ieeh!” *whom* Just as I was about to turn back, she pulled my hand with surprising strength. Making me stumble face to face with her, mere centimeters apart…

“...Pretty…” She muttered with surprisingly sober voice...

“...Your eyes are the prettiest I have seen…”

“Umm… thanks?”...This is strangely awkward...

“Rasmus… You won't leave me right?... ...Partners must always be loyal...”

“…I won't.” I am not really sure what she is on about, but whatever.

“Hehe...thats a promise right?... I am….glad…”

..

.

Cmon! Dont fall asleep with your eyes open. Hey!

...Annoying.

The tasks for the day are not that numerous, I only need to interview the scout candidates and visit Hicks to make sure the Walkers have had their maintenance.

… Oh wait. I also gotta go see Marionette in the Pharmatics Hub.

Starting the duties of the day, I began making my way over to the Commission Hub.

The number of people who applied to join as a scout were not that many to be honest.

“Is that surprising? You said it yourself too didn't you? You are unpopular~”

...Wow thanks.

“You are welcome! ^.^”

Well, to get back on point. The number of applicants may not be large. But it was still something. After skimming through a bit I set up a meeting later today with 2 separate scouts. They both seem reliable enough.

After I had dealt with that, I took the elevator down to go see Hicks.

…There was no one in the hangar

“Wow… he really lacks all punctuality. :l”

I know right?

But before I could start making my way to Hicks’ family home to drag him to work by force. A nearby Elevator door opened, and a pale and sweaty Hicks rushed out of it.

“Oh!... Y-you are already here?”

He suddenly got on his knees then and there, but he slipped midway and face planted… Then he scrambled to proper kneeling position from there..

“I am so sorry that I am late. It won't happen again I promise I am so sorry sir! I promise! Never again!”

...Wow.

“...Wow.”

“It's fine. More importantly. Is the maintenance done?” I asked him, trying to move on from his bizarre persona.

“Ah! Yes, yes it is sir! It won't let you down promise!”

“Good.” ...What else could I say to that?

...His behaviour was awkward enough that I just sort off.. Hurried out of there

...Wow.

“Ikr? just... wow.”

Even Alicia muttered something to the effect of ‘Poor guy...’

...Well, on the upside. That concluded that part of the day's work. I suppose it is time to head Over to Pharmatics Hub.

The area Marionette was held in was the long term rehab. Meant for severely damaged folk.

“...Damaged is a poor word choice.”

It fits.

“True.”

For the time being, I was instructed to support her in regaining basic responsiveness. So I spent the next 4 hours giving her orders like:

“move finger X.”

“Now lift your hand.”

“Paw” (they seemed to not like me teach that to her for some reason…)

“Say A”

After a certain amount of time I promised her I would be back tomorrow. And that he has to obediently wait for me.

...She nodded so I am pretty sure she agreed.

After that, I began making my way back to Commission Hub for the scout Interviews.
