Chapter 13: Shopping, and selling.

After leaving the security station, I made my way to the local Merchant Hub and got Alicia some clothes. Since I have no taste, I let Alicia pick from the things with a price tag under 7 credits.

She seemed really fidgety and unsure at first, but soon began checking different clothes, moving to and fro between aisles.

Ah, quite heartwarming.

It took almost an hour, but we left with a few pairs of dark colored one pieces, some panties, (stop Re-reading that, perv.) and some socks, knee socks (and that) and a pair or 2 of shirts and pants.

….Not limiting the max number of items was my mistake…

I don’t know why but they are mostly dark colored, similar to my clothing. Eh, whatever.

After all is said and done my current credit situation has degenerated to 25 Credits. Not enough for even a room and a meal.

Thinking about it, I made my way to what I evaluated as a reputable private Walker store. It took me some effort, but perhaps due to my high Merit in the Commission Hub, I got to see the store manager.

Ah by the way, Merit is essentially your, eh... “Ranking points” in Commission Hub. Higher number shows that you are more accomplished and more competent for the job.

How high is mine? Eh, somewhere over the 1000. Let’s move on.

The store manager was a greedy but cunning looking pudgy man, eh cliché much? Trying to ignore the glaring stereotype I continued on with my business, namely selling the drone.

You see, surprisingly a drone is rather rare these days. And when I say rare, I mean rare enough that no one even knows what a drone is and rather see it as another Walker.

Walker type “Weapons” like me are the preferred tool for defending your interests, a walker that doesn’t require the brain and other core components to be harvested from hostile walkers would be a boon for sales.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

So you may be surprised, but the store manager got really interested in what I had for sale after I explained him about what I wished to sell.

Of course, you can’t put drones on sale immediately, but an old-Gov Drone would probably make any research into easily mass-producible pseudo-Walkers go much faster.

Soon enough, we were negotiating to pin down the price tag on the drone I was selling. Eventually I walked out of his office, a beautiful 1500 credits richer and with a 70% off on my next Walker purchase. One I am planning to do next in fact.

After making my way to one of their trade terminals, I began going through their catalogue.

Seeing as I have a decent amount in my wallet, I might as well get a custom built.

A chance to buy one does not come often you know?

As such I began picking the parts and specifics.

Author's note:

only one chapter today, and a short one at that since I am a bit busy, planning to do 2 tomorrow. the chapter length should start going up slowly as the plot progresses. the next 2 chapters tomorrow will be mostly about main character choosing the Walker components, so be warned on that.

The ones of you who have read so far may have noticed not much has happened in the story line so far, this is because the plot is going to be rather long so it takes a moment to take shape (and I am a newbie in writing), I have only gotten around to introducing the first of many many side characters to the plot, so yeah. have patience, story line will flesh out as the plot progresses.

Woops, rambling again.

Please notify me on any mistakes I make. Thank you
