Ah, I haven't explained Walkers yet, have I? Well, as you may guess, they are essentially like ”Mechas” that the 21st century Otakus fanboyed over, albeit not quite. Walkers are essentially a lot like me, partially artificial constructs, partially made out of bio-material. Combined in a clever weave.
For example, the framework of a Walker is made out of a very light bone-carbon weave that has a layer of programmed ”flesh” around it, this flesh re-grows and is able to even slowly repair the frame. Allowing a Walker to essentially make its own repairs slowly over time. Instead of an old school CPU and memory banks for programming that an old school ”Mecha” would have, a Walker replaces it all with brain tissue, brain tissue that has been engineered to learn and execute the necessary tasks to fine-control the mechanics inside the Walker.
This brain tissue also works as a ”Wet Drive” that supplements the control orders given by the pilot, learning and supplementing for the small faults in drive patterns of the pilot. The ”brain” is generally referred to as the ”Operating System”
That being said, most parts of the machine that have to be able to take heavy loads or handle taking impacts tend to be purely mechanical with a touch of electronics to operate and link it to the Walker’s Operating System. These parts used to have a bio-component to them in the past, but due to the fall of the old government the technology to make Walker parts that are combined with bio-material has been lost. In fact the only way to make new Walkers is to capture hostile ones and re-build them if necessary.
Lily, or ’Walker-Series-02-05 ”Old-World-Lily” ’ as its official registered name stands, is one of the oldest models of Walkers on the market, belonging to the early days of the revolution she is already Museum-piece worthy, but she and I go way back, so I am going to keep using her.
Well, seeing as most likely you blanked through all that,
Tl;DR:
”Walkers are part machine, part biomaterial based combat units”
Anyways, here are her specs.

Head [Sensor Slotted A-3 +7] [Sensor Slotted A-3 +7]
Left Arm [Mounted: R223 Rifle (Sensor-Sights)]
Left Shoulder [Mounted: 2Z-23 Vibro-Blade ]
Right Arm [Mounted: E1 Hand]
Right Shoulder [Mount]
Back [Mount] [Armor Slotted: Lightweight +2]
Chestpiece [Armor Slotted: Medium weight +4]
Left Leg [Utility slot] [Suspension Slotted: R2 +3]
The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Right Leg [Utility slot] [Suspension Slotted: R2 +4]
Statistical evaluations:
Agility: 276 (Reaction time: 90, Max motion speed: 95, Motion Accuracy: 91)
Strength 23PP (21 PP Used)
Sensors: 120
Firepower Estimate: 70
*************************************************************
Those are Lily’s specs. The component names in different slots are not really important, they are rather average. The statistical evaluation is a far easier to understand evaluation. For the record, the following is average for a Walker:
”Statistical evaluations:
Agility: 260 (Reaction time: 86, Max motion speed: 90, Motion Accuracy: 84)
Strength 25PP (20 PP Used)
Sensors: 100
Firepower Estimate: 130”
So yeah, Lily is rather average, and even loses in firepower rather badly. But I would like to take pride in saying her price to performance ratio is second to none, you know?
Nevertheless, to get back on track. I use the terminal to slot in a cargo-space into the mount on the back. Making the specs into:

So, with the cargo space slotted I tell the still sulking Lee to finish his maintenance by 3 PM so I can get going. I think that made him even moodier…
Authors note
Well, First chapter of the day, I will post another one a bit later, one that finally contains some action, that should be interesting.
Please note any mistakes etc I make. Thank you.
