Chapter 15 Walker-Creation pt2

First things first, primary weapon,

For a primary weapon I should probably choose something practical and useful at long range, so a semi-automatic with a decently high calibre is probably a good idea, especially since, well... That's what my last Walker had.

What? I am old fashioned.

...Not sentimental.

So, going through the gun options, I narrowed my choice down to 3 potential options.

An R525 Rifle (sensor)  A P66 Rail-Action (sensor) or an C-3 TY-9 Combine Rifle.

The R525 is essentially the big brother of my old R223, with a much bigger calibre,(75 mm compared to 40 mm) and bigger magazine (23 compared to 20), a great choice for any sniper types out there. It would costs me 220 Credits.

The P66 is great in stopping power, but the power draw is rather severe, great for taking down big foes I suppose,(2 shot dynamic magazine, reloads from reserve without handloading. (Reloads a shot into the mag every 1.2 seconds) It would cost me 250.

The last and maybe in some ways, least. Is the C-3 TY-9, it has a smaller calibre than the other 2, (40mm). Less stopping power as well obviously, does come with a much bigger magazine (a whooping 145 and shaped like a drum)  though and can be toggled between full auto and semi-auto, making it great for closer distances. costing an even 230 credits.

After some deliberation, I decided to go for the C-3 TY-9. Since I can also attach a bayonet onto it for no extra charge. Making for a decent main weapon at most ranges and its general machine gun esque shape would not be a problem seeing the magazine is nicely fitted inside the gun to not cause it to bump into anything when maneuvering it.

As for the extra hand, I Installed what we in this line of work call a “Nailgun”, or as its official name goes: T-2 Thermic Lance Launcher or T2 -TLL for short. I just think of it as a nail gun tho, great penetration due to the superheated tips on the bolts and a 5 bolt Mag with 22 cm bolts attached below the gun, it was made in such a way the gun did not entirely cover the ammo, it is a good weapon, even though the ammo costs 4-5 creds a pop. Price? 120 credits.

After picking a good rifle for my main hand and a bolt gun for the other, I decided to pick a sturdy shield for my off hand. For only 44 credits, the shield was not that complicated, not for me at least.

It was made out of a single part and attached to an arm with good enough hydraulics to withstand extremely tough blows. The shield itself was made out of multiple layers shaped vaguely like a coffin, the first layer, starting from the arm, where the support beams and plates are attached in such a manner where it can absorb the blow into the arm.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

The second layer consists of single plates layered over each other like sharp scales, the bottom plate forming into a single spike that can be dug into the ground and the top 2 forming spikes into a ‘’V’’ shape. The third and final layer held more plates, again, layered over each other in the now familiar sharp scale like fashion, they however stopped at the parts where the top and bottom went into a spike.

Overall this gave the shield a quite sturdy look and with the bottom spike, in addition to the hydraulics, I would be able to withstand even the heaviest blow, if I slammed the shield into the ground.

The top spikes would allow me to rest the Nailgun in between them for more stability and the layered structure would allow for more toughness against blunt objects using less material than normal shields.

All of this for the beautifull price of just 44 credits.

Aside from that, I got a basic head and some company standard sensors, armor. Etc.

And then checked the total cost.

1451 credits.

Since assembly price is included -per item, that is the total price, leaving me with just 74 credits. Enough for a single day’s food and rent, not enough for two days. It pains me to become poor again so soon, but it is worth it.

Ignoring my own worries, I pressed *confirm*.
