The leader of the slave trader was a quick-witted beastman. Anyone wanting to survive in this kind of environment needed to have this quality or else they would simply die. Nothing more to it.
He quickly thought things through ad came a decision. The speed at which the enemy was charging at was better than his own, and there were so many of them. The possibility of his ragtag group of slaver winning against this force was almost zero.
He yelled loud enough for everyone to hear, prepare for enemy attack!
As soon as he did this, everyone stook up and prepared their battle gear and went out the cave they were in, forming a defensive line.
Once everyone was out, the leader took a few incredibly important things from all his loot and documents, and left the rest, including the slavers, and ran. He ran in the opposite direction to Heron.
His plan was to use his slavers as a distraction for long enough that he can make his escape.
Within around an hour, of the leader's quick escape, Heron arrived at the foot of the mountain, and charged in.
"Hey, where is the leader?" Suddenly, someone questioned from within the slavers.
Hearing this, everyone quickly looked around for their only moral and actual support in this fight. However, he was nowhere to be seen.
This cause complete confusion within the enemy, and some smarter ones even directly began to run away.
When Heron finally reached the top of the mountain where the entrance to the base that was hidden within the mountain itself, what met him was a bunch of 40 slavers, kneeling on the ground in surrender.
Confusion was plastered across his face as his troops slowly made it up the mountain, and also noticed this sight, before rejoicing, and chanting Heron's name.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"Heron! Heron! Heron! Heron!"
And thus, began the Legacy of Heron, the brave warrior whose very name can make the enemy surrender.
In the northern continent, Jack noticed all of Heron's actions and simply sighed before putting back his attention to Karlos.
He was currently in that very forest that he was reincarnated into.
Since his stamina was unlimited, he could keep walking forever, however, his speed was pathetically low. Especially with the leather armour, knight's shield and sword that he had equipped. Everything was slowing him down to the speed of an old man walking, even though he could keep this speed up forever.
Thankfully, all he had to do was follow the tracks from where these people came from, and he would sooner or later arrive at the origin of the dead people.
However, at this point, Jack suddenly intervened in his plan.
[What will you do once you arrive? Speak to them? How? Wave to them in greetings? As a skeleton? Don't make me laugh. And kill them? You? Lol]
'What do you want me to do then?'
[Naturally, head in the opposite direction, and kill those who attacked these men. Take revenge for your body. That way, you will naturally make enemies and friends, which will progress your new life story]
'But I don't want to progress my story.'
[What is it that you want to do then?]
'I want to become a Lich. An Archlich at that. Any self-respecting undead will want to become this.'[1]
[Sigh, you and your names. However, since you are the only undead, I have, you get to name your own future classes and species alright? But only your own. Now hurry up and kill something to earn exp. Not only do you have to increase than ungodly mana, but you also have to increase your strength and movement speed. So just kill lots, and you will have enough. Just make sure to not get into too much trouble, since no matter how much I try, it will be incredibly hard for me to come and help you. Unless I spend all my exp, I will not be able to help you. And I am sure you do not want to know how much exp that would be. You would have to slave on forever until your consciousness fades from existence, and then some to repay that debt.]
'Alright, alright. Jack, stop showing off. Just you wait. I won't stop at Archlich. I will climb to become an Undead God and strangle you to death for this!'
[Keke! I'll be waiting then.]
A momentary pause later, the two burst out into inter-consciousness laughter.
