“His Majesty as freed up time in order for you to have an audience with him before the finals.” Spoke the voice of a man who entered the room. Mason looked over and realised his identity. Over the past few days, he was researching all the major nobles in order not to mistaken them for other people.
“Duke, Desmon Bard!” This was the current head of the Bard branch family that started with the brother of the previous king becoming the duke. The duke’s son took over the position later on, but somehow vanished many years later, along with his eldest daughter, leaving the current head of the family for the 20-year-old Desmon.
“Tch. Doesn’t matter. The king instructed me to inform you. Now move you a*s.”
‘Wow, talk about grumpy.’ Mason thought to himself as he stood up and picked up his crutched and began walking behind Desmon, who was already walking a little ahead.
“Walk faster you fo-”
Desmon turned back to reprimand Mason for walking too slowly when he actually noticed it. Up until now, Desmon had no interest in the tournament and had never seen it even once, and so he did not know.
‘Oh… So he was actually missing a…’ Desmon reprimanded himself in his mind, but did not apologize.
Although not even the king respected him as a duke, and sent him on errand missions like this one, which was to be completed by soldiers and servants, Desmond still had the pride of a noble.
Soon they arrived at the room where the king, and his close aides were waiting for the tournament to start.
‘Will I finally complete the quest? Then I can just leave? I heard my opponent was just as strong as me, if not stronger. Even the one I faced in the semi-finals was plenty strong. I had to use the wind bullet at full power to knock him out through all that aura.’ Mason thought to himself as he entered the building.

Inside, the king of Bard, His Majesty Alexander Bard II, was seated on a throne, similar to the one he sat on through the rest of the tournament days. To his right were The Lion Tamala and Sir Wint, and to his left was Sir Campbell.
A few steps in front of the group of middle-aged men, was a single child and a soldier behind him.
This was Mason’s opponent; Don. He had no surname since he was an orphan since birth, with his mother dying while giving birth to him.
“Good to see you both here healthy. I just called you here to say that I do not wish to see bloodshed this day. Do not try to kill each other. Just beat the other person without harming them.”
“Your highness”
“Yes.”
Replied both Mason and Don respectively, clearly showing the difference in mannerism.
“Alright. Go forth and have fun.”
Just as Alexander Bard finished speaking, Mason stood up and bowed to the king before looking towards Sir Campbell.
“Sir Campbell!”
“Yes?”
At this moment, Meson received a quest completion notification as well as a new quest.

Survival Quest-Request
Make the request to the greatest blacksmith in Bard, Sir Campbell to build you a prosthetic leg
Reward: None

Mason read through this and realised that the god of systems was actually making him do all of this for himself only, and not to benefit the god.
“Could I please make a request?”
Campbell looked over at the king who nodded and said, “Go on.”
“Could you build me a prosthetic leg?”
It was at this moment Campbell came to a sudden realisation, along with everyone else in the room.
Campbell remembered all the times the young man looked over at him even in the middle of matches.
This young man called Mason did not come to the tournament to win, to gain money, or to gain fame. He came here with a single goal in mind, and that was to meet Sir Campbell and ask him for the prosthetic leg.
“Haha! I will reward this dedication of yours! I will make it for you!” Laughed the slightly short, but rather built man.
“Thank you!” Mason bowed even deeper than when he was to the king, but no one had time to fault Mason, since at this very moment, loud explosions occurred in the stadium, and all over the capital, and screams and shouts drowned the entire capital.
