Supreme Gods

Supreme Gods

[Some of your restrictions have been removed]

Said the that same ethereal voice in his head, preventing the kowtowing Sparta from hearing.

Jack heard this and finally realised that ‘that man’ had removed a lot of his restrictions. Although he was still stuck in the cage, his viewpoint was no longer limited to just the two mortals who he had helped, but to most of the world. He could even see some other planes shining like stars off in the distance.

However, he was still stuck in the cage. But he was thankful for that, since being out in the open meant that he could be crushed like a bug by any of the gods, or creatures able to survive in the void.

Naturally, most major cities, and church headquarters were obscured from his view, likely due to the other gods who had their divinity spread over those regions due to their followers.

Jack had come up with some theories about how divinity and faith worked by now.

For most gods, they would require believers from the mortal planes to believe in their existence. Through this belief, the gods would collect divinity. In order to prevent the mortals from forgetting about their gods, or changing faiths, the gods would create churches in the mortal planes and recruit popes, bishops, priests, cardinals, and chosen ones.

Jack still wasn’t sure if there were other methods, but he could figure this much out from the experiences of Alice and Mason.

However, at this moment, the pressure exerted by ‘that man’ disappeared, replaced by a grave silence.

Sparta did not dare to move for a whole hour before he slowly raised his head, utter terror plastered over his face.

At this moment, more beings made of divinity appeared in the distance, clearly separated into groups.

There were a total of 12 beings, and looking from their sizes, one could clearly see that 10 of them were much larger and denser than their counterparts.

Jack could not do much else besides waiting for them to arrive, and that is what he did.

Sometime later, the beings finally arrived, and Jack could see that just like Sparta, each of them were gods, most likely sub gods of some strong deities.

Sparta had noticed them also, and had already rushed over to one of the god’s sides. This particular god was a spear with hands and legs, and a face, just like Sparta.

Being sub-deities of Ares, they were rather hot-blooded and the spear was the first to speak out of all the other gods, who were all in awe of the mighty glimmering cage.

“I am Dorata, God of Spears, and sub-deity of the mighty war god; Ares.”

“Hmm. Take care of that little one I helped some time ago.” Spoke Jack in a casual tone. Naturally, Jack could not be so casual with those he has helped. He was only putting up a front to seem stronger than what he actually was.

Since most of the gods saw him as someone brought by the strongest overlord in existence, he had to act the part.

Hearing these words, the calm face of Dorata twisted greatly as he understood that Jack was belittling him.

However, before he could go into a rage, a much more powerful voice echoes through the void. This voice was nowhere near the power of ‘that man’, but was still stronger than all these gods present here combined.

“Dorata… Do not forget why you were sent here.”

Dorata’s body stiffened as he remembered his mission. While he was recovering, the other, larger gods spoke up one after the other, while the smaller gods remained silent.

“Mighty God of the System, this humble servant of the God of Water, Poseidon sends his regards and welcomes you to the realm of gods”

“The God of Death, Anubis, is congratulating you on becoming a god.”

“The Keeper of Hell, Hades…”

“The Mighty Sun, Ra…”

“The God of War, Ares…”

“Mother of Earth and land, Gaea…”

“Kukuku, Sun Wukong sends his regards from the Lord of Nirvana, Buddha”

“Fortuna, Lady Luck…”

“Minerva, the god of Wisdom…”

The 9 gods had each sent a representative, and by their names, and referring to his memories from Earth, he could generally put these gods onto groups of similar origins. However, this put Jack into a dilemma, why were all these gods known back on Earth, including their origin story?

But that was something to think of later.

“Should I assume you are in groups of your own?” he spoke in a solemn voice.

All the sub-deities looked at each other with suspicion.

‘Who told him?’ were their thoughts.

These gods were not sent all the way here just to say hi to a new god. New gods were born, and died infinite times every mortal year, and the supreme gods would not waste their time on a newly born god.

The reason they were here was due to the interference of ‘that man’, the strongest overlord in existence. They wanted to make sure he was not an evil or fallen god, or worse, a devil, and if he passed the requirements, they were to try and pull him into their pantheons.

Poseidon, Ares, and Hades were part of the Olympic Pantheon.

Ra and Anubis were part of the Egyptian Pantheon.

Gaea was technically the creator of the Olympic pantheon, however, she, along with Buddha, were not part of any pantheon.

Lastly, Fortuna and Minerva are part of the Roman Pantheon.

What was even more confusing to Jack was that many gods were missing from the respective pantheons. Example Zeus was not there in the Olympic Pantheon. The Egyptian and Roman Pantheons were also missing a large number of gods who should have been there.

‘What is going on?’ Jack thought to himself.
