Chapter 17

Hi, I got a shoutout from Asviloka last week, from the story An Unwanted Dragon (Reignite book 1).

So, as a thank you, I decided to impose upon my children the responsibility to care for an egg they didn’t want. Which meant taking them to the grocery store with me.

I swear I stood there for 20 minutes giving them 'the look' before they finally picked out eggs. Eggs they didn't want. Though, to be fair, if the ones at the grocery store kinda look the same. So I can respect them taking their time making a decision even if most of that time was spent looking at me to determine just "how stupid there father was".

They went to great lengths to explain what their looks meant after they got home and held an egg in their hand. I countered their explanations with a command, under threat of grounding, to care for a chicken egg each. Because, even if they failed to hatch them, it would help with learning some responsibility. Six different responsibilities in my youngest kid's case.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

Unfortunately, when my wife discovered my plans, due to the smell, she put an immediate stop to them. She also spoke to me for a very long time to explain why I should be the one to clean the 5 broken eggs. I didn’t know why it took 3 hours to explain, but it did.

I'll not bore you with the methods I needed to use to remove 3 day old egg yolk from carpet (mostly because it's still there, just hidden under some toys and sprayed with cologne), but rather tell you more about The Unwanted Dragon:

- Teenage girl

- Cute baby dragon

- Magic school

From what I read of it, the story had the feel of a Sarah Maas story without the cheesy romance plotlines.

If that sounds interesting to you, I recommend you check it out.
