“How much further?”
“Not far from here.”
Angelina along with Cockroach was on their way to the Sanctuary of Pinnacles. They were supposed to meet up with the rest of their crew half an hour ago but they didn’t show up at the rendezvous point so they decided to unite with each other at the border surrounding the Sanctuary of Pinnacles.

They rode over a mountainous dune before arriving at their destination. Beholding the scenery below from above, they overlooked a vast oasis populated with palm trees, rudimentary vegetation and various arrays of historic relics.
“Wow, this sanctuary place is bigger than I expected and has a particular beauty to it.” Cockroach was mind-blown by the spectacular scenery populating his eyes. “Hey, A.J what do you think?”
“This place is beautiful alright but don’t be fooled by appearances. Look there.” Angelina showed Cockroach a wide variety of Ghoul Monster’s trail below. “This area has a lot of Field Monsters hiding underground. If we’re not careful we might get swallowed up.”
Cockroach swallowed a mouthful of saliva after proving Angelina’s deduction to be true. “Then we better be extra careful.”
“Yeah. Hhm…?” Angelina continued looking around the Sanctuary of Pinnacles until she came across multiple pyramids that had various numbers engraved into them. “Those pyramids have different numbers on each one.”
“Your right.” Cockroach confirmed. “That one has our team’s number engraved, number thirteen. Do you think that might be what the Initiator mentioned?”
“I do. That pyramid is where our artefact must be placed. I’m sure of it.” Suddenly Angelina and Cockroach saw a bright beam of light shot out of the pyramid beside theirs.
“That’s…?” After getting a closer look by zooming in with her helmet, Angelina saw Resotnero and his gang coming out of pyramid 14. “That blond jerk! Why did his pyramid have to be besides ours?”
Cockroach saw a twisted expression taking over Angelina’s face. “Hey, you ok over there? You look like you’re taking a dump.”
“I’m fine!” Angelina exhaled hot steam before spinning her motor around and began descending the scorching dune.
“Hey, where too now?” Cockroach called out to her.
“I’m going on the hunt for artefacts.”
“Wait what about the others? Weren’t we going to meet up with them first? They are not that far from here you know. If you look at the map you’ll see that.” Cockroach had no idea what Angelina was thinking. Did she want to put their plan to jeopardy?
“To hell with the others! They're taking too damn long to get here.” Saying this, Angelina rode off in an unexplored location.

Sometime later, Hard Steel and Rooster arrived at the border of the Sanctuary of Pinnacles. “Where is everyone?” they looked at their map and saw where Angelina was heading.
“Let’s follow them.” Rooster and Hard Steel didn’t bother to check out the pyramid on their own because they feared to get ambush by other Tomb Riders. So they did the logical thing and followed the trail Cockroach left behind.
After riding around the desert aimlessly while amassing Ghoul Souls by killing Field Monsters, Angelina along with Cockroach finally came across something interesting.
“Could that be what I think it is?” Looking into the distance where there was a giant pit of skulls, they saw 2 Grace of Pinnacles stock on each other and some Rack-C Field Monsters wailing about.
Cockroach wiped out his eyes. “Am I hallucinating or is that an artefact?”
“You’re not hallucinating and they are two of them.” Angelina reassured Cockroach. “We need to approach with caution because they could be one of those gory monsters lurking about.”
“I know but we can’t take up too much time getting there. I think I hear some motors approaching from way behind us.”
Angelina heard the sounds of motors approaching as well so she decided to be less cautious and more pressing. “Come on, we got to get to those artefacts before anyone else.”
Angelina increased her speed as she rode towards the positions of the artefacts. The sounds of skulls cracking served as an alarm for a mysterious foe that was close by. Of course, Angelina wasn’t aware of this fact, she continued to shorten the distance between her and the artefacts all the while slaughtering the Rank-C Field Monsters that were blocking her path.
Some distance away from the artefacts, a group of dark silhouettes were smiling evilly while maintaining their disguise. “Kukuku, it appears that someone has taken the bait.”
“We’re almost there.” Reaching closer toward the artefacts, Angelina sensed that something was amiss but she didn’t consider the possibility of an ambush for long because of the constant roaring noises of motors that were approaching from behind her.
“Hurry and pair up with their tags.” Angelina and Cockroach dismounted their motors, additionally, they rushed towards the artefacts with bated breaths. Uncovering the artefact’s tag, Angelina placed her palm on the object.
“No, this is…?” Angelina was taken to the rear when she noticed that the artefact’s tag began giving off a reddish glow. “Someone is already in possession of this artefact. Cockroach! Step away from that artefact now!”
“Too late!” While Angelina and Cockroach were rushing back to their motors, they heard a course voice holler out behind them.
“Surround them!” As the mysterious voice spoke out, over fifty-thousand critters began bursting out of the desert and cordoned off Angelina’s escape route.
“What is this? Where are all these creatures coming from?” Cockroach found it unbelievable that so many Field Monsters were crawling out of nowhere all of a sudden. He hurriedly activated his Sapphire Soul Insignia and began attacking indiscriminatingly.
“Ocean Revolver!” Cockroach’s Soul Insignia transformed into a gigantic water gun which he held with all his might. Setting his balance, he began unloading his infinite bullets in the surrounding creatures. His bullets were tearing through their targets like butter but even so, the monsters kept on coming.
“There’s no end to these bastards!” Cockroach was getting peeved at the never-ending creatures.
Reaching on her motorbike, Angelina roused her Crimson Soul Insignia and unleashed a dreadful storm of fire around herself. Over 20,000 creatures got vaporized instantly.
“Cockroach it’s time for us to go!” After creating a path for them to escape, Angelina wasted no time going for it, she and Cockroach were almost out of the monstrous encasement when suddenly they felt a compelling force pulling them back in.
“Get over here!” Another member of the mysterious silhouettes used a gravitational Soul Insignia to pull Angelina and Cockroach in. “Ultimate Pressure!” Angelina and Cockroach felt a mountain on their shoulders, they were pressed so deeply into the sand that a massive crater appeared in the desert.
“Boss I have them pin down.”
“I can see that.” Somebody’s feet slowly came into view, they belonged to none other than…
