Three hours had passed and the evacuation process progressed smoothly. Even though dragons circled in the sky, most of them ignored the presence our presences and the civilians. As for the soldiers and some magicians, they were unfortunately targeted by the dragons.
As a result, most of them fled from the capital and had forsaken the civilians.
“Lumina-sama, Gen. Meyers had arrived. He has gathered his men near the borders of the capital.”
As I observed the surroundings, Emilia, who stood beside me, reported to me of Gen. Meyers arrival.
“Tell him not to attack the dragons and delegate his men to evacuating the civilians.”
“Yes.”
You may be wondering why I gave such an instruction. It was because a two hours ago, we discovered that the dragons we shot down from the sky were healed by its kin and flew up.
Their ability to heal their allies was really strong. Even when Shin slashed, stabbed, and cleaved ten dragons. They only needed one dragon to heal the ones he injured. What’s more, even when their wings were broken and their chest pierced, they were able to regenerate those parts.
This included getting beheaded.
As such, we shifted our focus to evacuating the residents.
Bang!!!
[Grrraaaaar!!!]
Boom!!!!
The roars and explosion reached up to us, even though we were far from the capital. I continued to give instructions and orders to my servants when Liza and Victoria landed near me.
“How was inside the castle?”
Earlier, I sent Liza, Victoria, Shin, Michelle and Eclara towards the Castle. Since Fate’s father was an Earl, so there may be a possibility that she was there.
“The situation inside the castle was quite messy.”
“Yes, the factions belonging to the different households fought amongst themselves.”
“...”
I became speechless by their report.
“They even declared that their houses won’t send any reinforcements.”
“Not until the King accepts their demands.”
“Demands?”
“Each house had different demands. But all of them had one thing in common. And that is the downfall of their enemies as well as reparations for the soldiers that may lose their lives.”
“...”
“Shin, Michelle and Eclara stayed there to protect the servants that were caught in the crossfire between differing factions.”
“What about Fate and her Father?”
“That’s also one of the reasons why Shin stayed there.”
“I see...”
My thoughts became full of questions and anger as I thought of the reason why the defenses of the royal capital were very thin.
“Liza... Are the servants and Fate still inside the castle?”
With a voice filled with fury, I asked Liza that question. I was really angry and frustrated right now. Who wouldn’t? The country was in a state of emergency and the top brass were inside the castle arguing with one another.
“Shin and Eclara are escorting the people who weren’t part of the commotion Lumina-sama.”
“I see...”
Answering her curtly, I flew towards the castle and left the commanding of the evacuation to Emilia and the rest.
A few moments later, I arrived near the gates and saw Eclara along with some soldiers that were coordinating with some servants.
“Where’s Fate and her Father?”
I approached her and asked her that question. Her eyes opened wide when she turned her head towards me.
“L-Lumina-sama?”
“Where’s Fate and her Father?”
I repeated my question. This time, my voice was colder than before.
“They're still inside and along with His Majesty and His Highness. They haven’t given up on pleading to the nobles inside.”
“Is that so?”
I nodded to her and walked inside the castle. As I entered the castle, I could hear some clattering sounds behind me. It seemed like Eclara followed after me.
Since some of the books I read from the ruined library in school featured the Royal Castle, I had a rough idea where the audience room was. As such, I didn’t get lost even though it was my first time here.
After a while, I stopped before a door with lots of engravings and designs.
Clink!
Kachink!!
“Uwaaa!”
“You Stupid Fool!!!”
The sound of metals and war cries could be heard. The atmosphere that could be felt here was very different from the atmosphere outside of the castle.
Even though we're in such a crisis, they're still fighting against each other!? This is just stupid! Can’t they see that this country may perish any time now?!
With intense anger, I opened the door of the audience room.
Bang!
Boom!
Swoosh!
Clank!
I saw some magicians fire spells towards a group of people. That group that was attacked made a barrier and retaliated against them.
“Were you the ones who sent that assassin to kill the King!? When the Ginsburg left your faction, you guys have resorted to dirty moves!”
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“Look who’s talking? Weren’t you the ones who wanted the King dead? You didn’t even sent a single soldier from you camp to the front lines!”
Two people that were positioned in front of their respective groups argued with one another. In a corner, a man with green hair was smirking as he observed the people who were arguing. Lastly, a young boy with blonde hair and blue eyes was crying on top of a person that sat on a luxurious looking chair. On top of that person’s head was a crown and on his chest was a knife.
“....”
I continued to look around and found Shin and Fate as well as the parents of Liza and the others near the corpse. Seeing them, I slowly approached towards them.
“Lumina-sama?”
“““Eh?”””
“Look out!”
Fate who was staring at me shouted with all her might. I ignored her warning and continued walking.
Fwoosh!
A lance that was made of fire flew towards my chest. The moment it drew close to me, the spear made out of fire stopped in mid air. I paid it no heed and continued walking towards Fate.
As I walked, different kinds of spells flew towards me and just like the fire lance, they all stopped in mid air the moment they flew near me.
“Weinberger-sama, Faustina-sama, Ginsburg-sama, Hurstorn-sama, Harlington-sama and Amethyst-sama. Let’s leave this place quickly. I need your help in evacuating the civilians.”
In a solemn voice, I spoke to the people who I knew. Well, it was only thanks to Emilia that I remembered them though.
“Is that your command?”
The moment he asked me that question, the people that were arguing became silent. Well, even if they raised their voice, I'd still ignore them though. It's because they're just a bunch of retarded idiots.
“Yes. As the leader of our faction, I want you to ignore this rabble and head out. Your powers are urgently needed.”
Although Fate’s father was the one who was acted here in the Royal Castle, I was still the leader of our faction. Actually, I held no right to speak to them in this manner because I was only the master of their children and not them. However, because I didn’t have anything else I could use to request for their help, I used that as a card here.
There may be other ways to request for their help though, but because I was quite angry, my mind wasn’t calm enough to think other ways.
“Then, we shall head out under your command... However, what of the Crowned Prince and the body of the dead king?”
Amethyst-sama made a big smile as he spoke to me in a respective way. It really felt strange and weird because of how he acted, but that doesn’t matter, a crisis was happening outside, so time wasn’t on our side.
“Drag him out. We’ll worry about the dead later. ”
“As you wish.”
Amethyst-sama and the others that were a part of my faction slowly made their exit. Each of them had a really big smile plastered on their faces. I really couldn’t understand why they smiled even though were in a state of emergency.
....
Don't tell me, they're also a bunch of idiots!?
Haaa, forget it. If they're also idiot then let them be idiots then! I don't care anymore! Just quickly go outside and save the civilians!
I shook my head to cut the thought and faced the people who were arguing earlier. By the way, the magic I stole from them were floating near me. Most of them were intermediate to high leveled spells. Well, as long as it's made out of mana, I can steal it even if I don't know what spell it was, Wahaha!
I showed the idiots a smile and said:
“Idiots.”
I snapped my fingers and made all the magic I stole fly to them. They then hastily made a lot of barriers and countered me with spells of their own. Their actions proved futile though because I could reflect it back.
In short, they would return back to their caster.
“Fate, let’s head out of here. It’s dangerous if we stay inside any longer.”
“Y-yes.”
I, along with Fate and Shin, exited the audience room amidst the curses and shouts from them. Some soldiers bowed to me and locked the audience room. It seemed like they were commanded somebody.
What’s more, the moment we reached outside of the castle, a Golden Dragon descended in front of us.
Haaa... First a sudden invasion now this!?
God! I’m really tired! I really want a cup of Darjeeling now!
I complained in my mind as I faced the Golden Dragon that was observing us.
