Two days have passed since I thanked Fate for sponsoring me. This morning, when I woke up, Emilia suddenly came to my room and told me that the preparations were now done. According to her, the invitations have now been sent, the decorations for the venue had been done, and the musicians had now arrived.
Hearing the things that were done, I was crushed by a heavy sense of guilt. Why? Well, it’s cause for the past two days, all I’ve been doing was lazing around in my room. From time to time, Fate, Liza, and some others would come to my room. We would then have a tea party and would talk about things. As a result, I was now duty bound to attend the party.
It was now late afternoon, and while I was changing my clothes for the party, I was pondering about something.
“Hmm….”
“Is there something wrong, Lumina-sama?”
“I feel like I’m forgetting something really important right now…”
“?”
Because Emilia was very stubborn about helping me changes my clothes, I gave up resisting and had her help me.
“Hmmm…”
I continued pondering while she dressed me up and while she was doing that, all I did was stretch my arms apart. It would’ve been better if I dressed myself though.
“It seems like almost all of the parents from the high-ranked nobles are coming to the party. As for the low-ranked nobles, some have said that their parents couldn’t make it. They say their homes were really far. According to them, just traveling from there to here would take at least a week. What’s more—”
“That’s it!”
“Eh?”
Emilia’s hands stopped moving when I interrupted her with a shout.
“I forgot to invite my parents!!!”
“Is that it?”
“What do you mean by that’s it! They’re my parents! How am I gonna face them if they knew I threw a party! Though I’m not using our money, but still! What should I do!”
Despite how panicked I became, Emilia remained calm and moved her hands.
“Don’t worry about that, Lumina-sama. They were included in the invitations.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes.”
“That’s good… haaa~”
Breathing out a sigh of relief, I then remembered another important thing.
“It’s not good at all!”
“What is it this time?”
Emilia’s tone had a tinge of irritation mixed in it. It’s cause whenever I exclaimed, I would move my body and interrupt her work.
“How am I gonna explain to my mother that I now have 200 hundred servants!”
“…”
“What should I do? Maybe, it’s better if I don’t go… but if I don’t, I’d be rude to Fate… however, I don’t know how to face my mother when she comes… argggh!”
“Please stay still, Lumina-sama.”
Emilia held both of my arms and strengthened her grip. She then bounded them with two chains that were made out of mana.
“But… but…”
“You can’t get away from the party anymore. The preparations have already been done. While you’re changing here, Fate had already told me that some of the guests have arrived.”
“Urk…”
“So please stop moving around Lumina-sama. If you don’t, then I’ll even bound your feet and head to stop you from moving.”
Though Emilia was smiling cutely, but the things she said didn’t match her expression. As a result, I became quiet.
“And done…”
After Emilia placed a brooch on my chest, she observed me again from head to toe. She made a few nods before she made a satisfied smile.
“Here, take a look Lumina-sama.”
She made a mirror of mana in front of me. And I was quite surprised by what I saw. The fancy hairclips that were on my hair had dark blue gemstones and were a great matched the black color of my hair. She even braided some parts to further emphasize the clips.
The formal dress, that was only worn when I had arrived in school, was given some improvements. She mixed some blue laces on some parts. She added more frills on my cuffs and shortened my skirt to above my knees. She replaced my dark stockings with white knee socks. What’s more, she even placed a small top hat on the side of my head.
Just looking at my present figure, I was really… cute.
Emilia really did a good job in using my peiti—
“Hmm… thanks, Emilia… it looks really good.”
“You’re welcome. Then, shall we go now?”
“Hmm… wait a minute… I think I just forgot something really important.”
“Nope, it’s just your imagination, Lumina-sama.”
While smiling, Emilia was emitting a really dangerous aura. Because it felt really threatening, I stopped trying to remember what the important thing was.
* * * *
I walked out from the room and was surprised to meet Liza, Mary, Victoria and three other boys.
If I’m right, the one with red hair is Axe? The one with blue hair is Mark? And the one with white hair is Antoinette?
Hmm… I somehow feel that Antoinette is a dogs names…
“In case you forgot, the one with red is Achil, the one with blue hair is Frank and the one with white hair is Anthony.”
While I was tilting my head as I looked at the three boys, Emilia whispered their names to me.
“Cough* It’s been a while Achil, Frank, and Anthony. I haven’t seen you for about three days now.”
When I mentioned their names, the three boys heaved a sigh of relief.
I wonder why. Well, that’s not important thought.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
“Why are the six of you here? And were’s Fate?”
Because we’ve been having tea parties together, the site of her being next to Liza had become normal to my eyes. It’s cause Liza had twin tails that were styled into drills while Fate had straight twin tails.
“She’s already gone ahead, Lumina-sama.”
“Is that so? Then why are you guys here? Wouldn’t it be better if you guys went ahead.”
Liza bowed in front of me as she said:
“We’re gonna act as your escort for the party, Lumina-sama.”
“Why would I need escorts? I’m only gonna say hi to your parents, right?”
Emilia and the six of them simultaneously made wry smiles.
“Well, that is true…”
“Then let’s get going, I don’t wanna get there late.”
I wanted to go there quickly cause the sweets may have already been served. Since Fate’s father is rich, I think there’ll tons of sweets I’ve never eaten before.
“….”
Emilia knitted her brow as she observed my face. It seemed like she knew what I was thinking.
“Come on, let’s hurry.”
I spoke while I covered my red face with a fan I was forced to carry. I covered my body with mana and started flying north.
“Ahh, Lumina-sama, Fate’s castle is south of here.”
“….”
Changing my direction, I then flew towards the south. Since I didn’t want them to see my embarrassed face, I flew rather fast.
Also, what did Emilia mean by castle? No matter how rich Fate’s father was, I don’t think they’re rich enough to own a castle.
….
Right?
* * * *
When we arrived in front of a mansion, I was awed by how large it was. Fate’s house was made out of stone. It was surrounded with walls and ramparts. It had tall towers, that I refuse to call watchtowers, around it. It was my first time seeing a mansion that looked like a castle.
Since Fate’s father was a merchant, he was able to make his mansion like this. It’s not like he was an Earl or something… right? Right?
Yeah, the place where Fate lives in isn’t a castle. They’re just rich,
“Haa… sometimes, it’s really hard to convince myself something…”
“Hmm? Did you say something?”
Geh!
“Ah, it’s nothing.”
“Is that so?”
As Liza returned her gaze to the gate, I patted my chest in relief.
By the way, as we were standing in front of Fate’s mansion, Emilia showed the people who guarded the gate our invitations. They wore a fully plated body armor and held a spear on their right hand. They really looked like soldiers. It seemed like they dressed up for this occasion.
Because of how great they looked, I would sometimes see illusions of some soldiers patrolling the ramparts. Yeah, those were just an illusion.
“Un, we have certainly received your invitation… Lower the drawbridge!”
The guard made a loud shout. With this, the gate slowly opened. That drawbridge in front of me is only an illusion…
Who am I kidding?
With the real thing in front of me, I think it’s better if I don’t force myself anymore.
Right now, in front of me, was a large castle. That had lots of soldiers patrolling on its ramparts. And right now, we were walking on top of a draw bridge.
However, I still refuse to accept Fate’s social status. Why? It’s cause it’s basically impossible for me, a lower-ranked noble, to have a high-ranked noble serve me. The only reason why they were able to rent this castle was because her father was rich. I don’t want to admit that this was were she lived.
“It’s quite huge huh…”
“It’s as expected of an Earl.”
Lalala~ I didn’t hear anything.
“Lumina Chis Chem has arrived!”
As we walked along the road that was connected from the drawbridge, a soldier announced my name and blew their trumpets. Though this was my first time experiencing this kind of welcome, I couldn’t help but jump in surprise.
“…. That was quite sudden… Hmmm? You seem quite calm, Emilia. Weren’t you surprised?”
“Well, her Father has a rank in the royal court, so they’re bound to have this kind of welcome.”
….
Erase
Since I have now been welcomed, this meant that the people inside the castle were now aware that I had arrived. I quickly straightened my back and narrowed my eyes. I watched my step and walked in a straight line.
Because I was gonna meet a lot of parents, it's best if I showed them my best face. First impressions last, so I better give them a very good impression of me, an impression that doesn’t stain my family name.
We stopped in front of a large door with intricate designs.
Looking around, I started to wonder. There were some other nobles that were mixed in the general students. If Fate’s father, who was a rich merchant, has enough fortune to rent out this castle, I wonder why he allowed her only daughter to be discriminated in school.
Or was he aware?
Well, I’m not really good at reading into people, so let’s stop thinking about that.
For now, let’s focus on maintaining my posture and walk with dignity. Let’s get this done. I wanna eat some delicious high classed food.

Hmm... I'm gonna try to post a second chapter... I won't promise I can though~
