Midway from the library, I suddenly heard a voice calling me.
“Oi!”
At first I thought that I’d ignore it, but thinking that he’d only become more persistent if I did so. I reluctantly looked behind me. And as I had expected, the person who was calling me was Shin, the protagonist.
“Why did he follow us?”
“Who knows?”
“He’s been really rude to Lumina-sama for a while now.”
Victora, Mary, and Ant-something started talking amongst them. I spat out a sigh and sat on a mana chair as I waited for Shin and his companions to arrive.
“It’s quite breezy ain’t it. I wonder if it’s because of them.”
“Maybe it’s because they’re using wind magic to fly.”
“I think so too.”
I used mana to stop my skirt from flipping because of the wind. Victoria and Mary also did the same thing. The four of us continued talking as we wait for them.
A few seconds later, Shin arrived and stopped in front of us. Along with his arrival, a strong wind blew, making our hair disheveled and messy. As a result, I, Mary, and Victoria made mana brushes and started combing our hair.
“So, what do you want?”
I spoke to him in a cold tone as I brushed my hair. He was quiet for a while before suddenly bowing to me.
“Thank you very much for not punishing Eclara.”
“Is that all? If it is, then I’ll be going.”
I quickly tried to end our conversation there. It’s because I didn’t want to have anything to do with him. The reason is quite simple, it’s because he is the protagonist of the game I had played. Because of that, I know that getting acquainted with will only bring me troubles.
“Can I also come with you to the library?”
“….”
I didn’t answer him and faced my back to him. Since Shin’s companions hadn’t arrived yet, I decided to walk at a slower pace.
“… stop trying to disturb Lumina-sama.”
“Anthony, it’s fine.”
Anthony was about to start scolding Shin was stopped by Victoria. Thankfully he wasn’t stubborn and stopped. I became a bit happy because I finally remembered what his name was, as a result I thanked the two of them. A smile surfaced on their face as they heard my thanks.
A few seconds later, Shin’s companions had arrived. I wasn’t surprised to find out that it was Eclara and Michael.
Without facing Eclara, I told her:
“Since you’re already here, mind helping me gather suitable books for magic, Eclara.”
“Eh?”
“I’ve always wanted to read books about magic. However, I was stopped because I was a general studies students. I’d really be happy if you’d help me.”
“Yes.”
Even though, she didn’t express it with her face, her tone of voice sounded a bit more enthusiastic. As for Shin, he looked like he wanted to say something. But he was stopped by Michael before he could say anything.
* * *
The library became a pile of rubble. It used to have been really big. However, because of Shin’s magic explosion yesterday, it now looked like an earthquake had hit it. Not even one pillar stood there.
Using the mechanisms that were used by sonars, I made pings with mana to find out if the books were safe. However, I found out that there were 20 people under the rubble.
“Eclara, can your companions use earth magic?”
“Eh? Ah… Shin can…”
“Hmm?”
When I look at Shin, I started thinking if he was up for this job. He could use earth magic to spread the rubble apart, but because there were people under the rubble. He needed to be good at controlling the magic.
“Can he do delicate tasks?”
Eclara thought for a bit and shook her head.
“What’s do you want me to do?”
“….”
I observed him from head to toe and decided that he really wasn’t up for the task.
“Mary, you can use water magic right?”
“Yes. Victoria can wind magic while Anthony can use earth magic.”
“Nn. I want the three of you to make weapons. There are people inside the rubble, we need to remove the rubbles slowly so that those under it won’t be crushed.”
“““ Yes.”””
The four of us made swords and had it go through ethereal shift.

“No matter how many time I see it, it’s still really amazing.”
“Where’d those things come from? Did they summon their weapons?”
“That’s the new magic Lumina-sama developed.”
“Hmmm, so all students that wear black uniforms are martial artists?”
“…. Not exactly.”
Eclara, Shin, and Michael started talking to one another. Eclara had a really complicated face as she tried to tell them about us.
As for me and my servants, we started removing the rubble. I made a wakizashi while Mary made a standard broadsword. Anthony made a pair of gauntlets while Victoria made a wand. The reason for our different weapons is because each weapon that had been ethereal shifted displays a different effect.
Water shifted weapons can cut anything like butter. Fire shifted weapons can melt anything. Wind shifted weapons can pierce through defenses and have a longer range than other elements. And Earth shifted weapons can crush anything or become an impenetrable shield.
The more mana we feed the weapons the stronger they become. Also, the more mana they have, the harder they are to control. So the weapons we made don’t usually display such firepower. They’re a bit sharper and stronger than most weapons. This means that there are some weapons that still surpass ours.
Mary and I cut giant blocks of rubble. Anthony uses his hands to remove or crush them while Victoria blows away small obstructions. Eclara and her friends wanted to help. But because she judged that they weren’t useful, she reluctantly decided no to help. However Shin wanted to join us, but thanks to Eclara and Michael, he was stopped.
A few hours later, we managed to save the unconscious students. Thankfully, because the library had an emergency barriers set up on every chair, none of them were injured. I first thought that it would’ve been better to just make a big barrier for it. But when Eclara told me that the emergency barrier uses the host’s mana, it’d be inefficient to make it large.
“Emilia, send some students here. We’ve found some more unconscious students.”
“Yes.
I was talking to Emilia through a mana screen while Mary and the others laid the Magic Students on top of the mana beds we made.
“Hmm… what’s this? How come they’re floating? I don’t understand it. Are they using magic?”
“Yes. The magic they’re using is invisible to non-practitioners so they appear to be floating in your eyes. However for me, they’re currently resting on top of a bed.”
“Heeh, so that means you can also summon weapons, Eclara?”
“Wow, so Eclara-san can also do those?”
“Unfortunately I can’t. Those weapons they made seem to be an advanced form of their magic. I’d need somebody to teach that to me, However because all of them are quite busy. I can’t find the right time to find a teacher.”
(The three of them really are close huh.)
I was sitting under the shade of a tree while reading a book we had also recovered.
(Seeing them like that, I could guess that things are really gonna happen just like in the game. I already know that this kingdom will be invaded sooner or later. But the place where this kingdom will be attacked is still a mystery to me.)
I looked at Shin while covering my face with the book.
(Also, he doesn’t look guilty at all.)
A random question suddenly popped up in my mind as I observed Shin.
(I forgot why the girls in the game fell for him. He looks okay, however, he’s dumb and annoying. Hmm… he must’ve done something to make them fall in love with him. I wonder what it was.)
“Lumina-sama, here’s some more books we’ve recovered.”
“Ah, thanks.”
Mary carried five books to my table. She then sat beside me and picked one of them.
“I wonder what we’ll do once the magic students start waking up.”
I thought of those things as I looked up at the sky and saw that some students have already arrived.
