ALEKS
I tried to shake off how divine Leukas had looked in his all black two-piece suit sans tie, all the pieces expertly melded onto the body I had touched so intimately mere days ago. His hair's recently shorter cut drew attention to his more masculine features and drew attention to his chiseled cheekbones and his strong brow, but was still long enough to tie into a ponytail. I shook my head when I found myself biting my lip.
Stop it Aleksander. You saw his fiancée right besides him. She's back and you slept with her man. Have a little shame.
I sighed as I made my way to the main storage room. Atlas had sent someone with a request of my presence a while back, complete with the instructions on how to get there, and it would be best I focused on that and not anything else.
Maybe you should focus on Malarkee.
I smiled at the thought of the utterly charming man who had made it clear he was interested in me from the moment we met. He was also very good looking and witty, maybe he was just what I needed to stay in my lane.
My heels clicked on the golden tiled floor of the building I was fairly familiar with after the few visits I’d made with Lanthe and I frowned wondering what exactly Atlas needed of me. As I neared the storage room, I faltered in my steps, cursing myself for being so distracted and simply walking to such an abandoned area because some man I have never seen in my life came and told me to. I was about to turn back when I heard Atlas call for me.
“Lexi? Is that you?” his voice sounded from the room, making me breathe out in relief and hurry into the room. My smile disappeared however when I saw Atlas frowning into his cell phone before looking up at me inquisitively.
“Hey. What’s up?” I asked moving towards him worriedly.

He frowned further. “What do you mean what’s up? You called me here.” He said disbelievingly.
I gaped at him. “No I didn’t. you are the one who texted me to come….” My voice trailed off as realization dawned on both of us and we both turned toward the door, and like the horror show I was foreseeing this turning out to be, we both watched as the heavy door suddenly pulled itself shut and an ominous click sounded as it seemingly locked. We stared at each other dumbfounded for a second before hurrying to the door and pounding onto it, all to no avail.
“What the fuck.” Atlas said looking a little sick as he stared at me.
“Shit. I can’t believe I fell for that. But what…who…?” I muttered to no one in particular as I looked around the surprisingly well organized room. There was nothing I could see us using to get out of whatever this was.
“I need to make a speech in twenty minutes Aleks! If I don’t show up I’m so screwed. Everything I’ve worked for…. everything…. oh fuck. What the hell is this. Why is this happening? There’s no signal…” Atlas was panicking and looking to me as if I had the answers to his questions but I was too busy freaking out as well to answer. I had a bad feeling about whatever this was and luckily my version of freaking out entailed sweeping the room frantically for an exit or something to use to beat down the door. The windows were small and incredibly high and there was no way I was getting up there, not even if I stood on Atlas’ shoulders.
“Aleks…. something…” the urgency in his voice made me turn to Atlas and I took an involuntary step back when I saw his worried expression. He looked to be fighting himself but huge fangs grew out of his mouth despite his obvious resistance. “Something’s…something’s not right.” He panted out before he let out a scream, his shirt ripping audibly in the silent space as his bones cracked as they rearranged themselves and fur sprouted out all over his back and his face. His eyes were flashing between completely black and completely red and I could only stand there completely terrified as his upper body turned into that of a feral and very angry wolf that was looking at me with barely disguised anger, hunger and dark lust.
“Atlas?” I tried in a trembling voice, hoping that this was some kind of bad dream. But it wasn’t and I watched as the wolf lunged at me. Luckily my instincts kicked in and I rolled out of the way, watching as the wolf crushed into the door before turning and growling at me, somehow even angrier than before. I had a feeling I wouldn’t survive whatever this encounter was but I wouldn’t die laying down.
