The Great Highway Chase - Part 2

The Great Highway Chase - Part 2

Shiori’s heart pounded in her chest as she saw Gale and the Silver Skull thugs charging at her team and the GI agents. The air crackled with tension, and the flickering lights cast eerie shadows on the concrete walls. She unsheathed Mikazuki-Munechika, the katana she borrowed from Fuwa. Her eyes locked onto Gale, the formidable leader of the thugs.

Gale’s muscles rippled beneath his shirt as he unleashed his fury upon Shiori and her team. His movements were swift and powerful, each strike resonating with an intimidating force.

Nishi also jumped into action with her karate moves. Keiji, the agile agent, rotated the naginata he borrowed from Fuwa with speedier, fiercer moves than when he wielded the weighty steel bo stick.

Ryonoken, the silent ninja, moved like a shadow, his double kodachi gleaming in the dim light. With each step, he exuded a sense of deadly grace and calm, his shurikens at the ready. His presence alone sent a chill down Shiori’s spine, knowing that his skills were unmatched.

The battle erupted with explosive force. Shiori lunged forward, her katana slicing through the air, meeting Gale’s relentless attacks with calculated precision. Each clash resonated in a symphony of blows, as they danced with deadly grace.

Nishi’s karate skills, honed through years of training, allowed her to engage in close combat, her strikes swift and efficient.

Ryonoken moved with the grace of a phantom, his two kodachis slicing through the air, deflecting blows, and striking with lethal accuracy. His shurikens darted through the chaos, finding their targets with uncanny precision. With each move, Ryonoken seemed to merge with the shadows, an enigma of stealth and skill.

Gale fought ferociously, his strength and speed unmatched. He unleashed his ultimate attack, Tiger Dance Flurry, a whirlwind of strikes that overwhelmed Shiori and her team.

But Ryonoken, ever vigilant, saw an opening and struck with lightning speed. Gale’s eyes rolled back, and he crumpled to the ground, unconscious.

Sensing defeat, the Skull Mask thugs faltered, their morale shattered. Keiji seized the opportunity, his voice ringing out with authority.

“Drop your weapons! Surrender!” he commanded, his words filled with a potent mix of determination and confidence.

Slowly, the thugs lowered their weapons, their faces etched with defeat. The battle had taken its toll, injuries littering the ground, a testament to the fierce struggle that had unfolded.

Despite their superior numbers, Gale’s troops surrendered, their shoulders slumped in resignation. Shiori’s team had emerged victorious, their combined strength and unwavering determination prevailing against all odds. The tunnel echoed with the silence of the aftermath, broken only by the sound of heavy breaths and the occasional groan of pain.

“That was intense,” Nishi panted, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

“But, what are we going to do with that one?” Shiori pointed at the spread-eagled Gale, who then recovered and got up on his feet quickly, although he was still groggy.

However, Keiji’s gun was already on Gale’s neck. “What are you doing in Inazuma Integrated?” he snarled. “You should’ve outgunned us back then and gone to someplace we don’t know.”

“Look, We’re going to Inazuma to catch up with the Hannya-masked man who abducted Fuwa Mizutani. Since Fuwa is your boss, it would be best for me to volunteer and inform you, the GI agents about it to prevent misunderstandings.”

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

Nishi facepalmed. “The problem was, your way of doing it has sparked more misunderstandings already.”

Gale only grinned sheepishly, as though pointing out that anyone in his shoes would resort to that dim-witted action under immense pressure.

However, all attention shifted to a greater crisis at hand. Shiori’s heart raced at the news of Hannay’s presence. The Hannya-masked man, the one responsible for so much chaos and destruction, was here, and she couldn’t stand by and let him win.

She turned to Gale and exclaimed, “You said the Hannya-masked man is here? We must join in and fight him!”

Gale turned to her in surprise. “H-huh? You know Hannya too? What’s your problem with him?”

Ryonoken stepped forward, his face solemn. “Shiori and Shingo Amiga are magnets, catalysts to help Hannya reap the powers of supernatural beings and demons. I don’t know what his ultimate goal is. Hannya defeated me and threatened me to keep silent before the time has come to reunite the twins.”

Keiji gasped. “Holy Shin Kamui! So all that has happened were arranged by Hannya and whoever backing him up!”

Ryonoken nodded gravely. “Yes, it seems so. I don’t know if this is the right time to tell you or not, but Shingo and his friends will perish in Hannya’s death trap if I don’t tell you about it now.”

Nishi’s voice trembled as she spoke up. “A-and we will perish there as well?”

Ryonoken nodded. “Yes, but I have one way to prevent that.”

Shiori’s heart was pounding in her chest. “What is it? Please tell us, Ryo-san!”

“The GI and the Yakuza must work together,” Ryonoken declared. “You must put your enmity and vengeance aside and fight our common enemy, Hannya. After that, it’s up to you.”

Keiji nodded, his face set in determination. “You’re right. We know that it was Hannya who abducted Director Fuwa and killed Todo. We’re coming here to fight him as well.”

Nishi hesitated, his gaze flickering. “But we can’t overlook what the Silver Skulls did. Somebody has to pay for that.”

Gale stepped forward, his blue jacket slung over his shoulder. “Look, I’m glad you guys see things the way we do, and you want to fight Hannya. But let’s settle things with Hayato Mori after that, okay? I’ll help you to catch up with Mori’s team, so we can do what Ryonoken said and avoid ‘total annihilation’ or sorts.”

Keiji nodded, his eyes bright. “I agree. Welcome aboard, Gale. Well, let’s take a five-minute rest, and we’ll move on by foot, as our vehicles aren’t of much use now.”

Gale apologized, and Nishi warned him not to try anything funny or suffer the consequences.

As the group prepared to move out, Shiori approached Gale with a question. “Is it true, Shingo is around here with the Yakuza?”

Gale nodded. “Yes, he is. But he’s not a criminal.”

Shiori gasped. “Brother Shin…! So, Shin Kamui, who controls destiny, is going to reunite us in his strange, unthinkable way.”

Gale’s expression was serious. “The question is, are you ready to face him now? You might get disappointed with what you’ll find.”

Shiori’s heart skipped a beat. “Ready or not, I must face it nonetheless. I hope he feels the same way too.”

Gale nodded. “I hope so too, for everyone’s sake.”

With that, the group set out towards Inazuma, determined to put an end to Hannya’s chain of terror once and for all.
