Mayadenava felt a sudden jerk as he was ejected from Everna and sent back to the Black Hole Doorway, the same accursed place where he had been imprisoned before.
As soon as his new body, Shingo’s, entered the coordinate facing perfectly at the center of the all-black doorway, chains of light emerged and surrounded him like a ball-shaped cage.
There went the Demon of the Universe’s freedom.
He cursed himself for his foolishness, for believing that possessing a body in Everna would restore his whole power and make him invincible. But he was not only defeated once, but twice, and now he was back where he started.
As he stood there, defeated and helpless, an old man approached him. Mayadenava recognized him immediately. It was Alistair Kane, the Avatar of the Source, the All-powerful inter-realms pilgrim.
“Well, I can’t say I’m glad to see you again here,” said Alistair, “But, I’m truly glad that you’re not out there making a mess in Everna, the Core of the Universe.”
Mayadenava scoffed. “Just laugh if you want to,” he said. “We’ll see who will have the last laugh.”
“For your information,” said Alistair, “There’s nothing laughable about what happened recently, my old friend.”
“That’s right,” Mayadenava replied. “What happened was, I don’t belong here. I don’t like it, it’s so boring and lonely up here. My hunger and thirst for domination must be satiated and quenched. If not now, I won’t be able to withstand the overwhelming force of the Black Hole.”
“I know,” said Alistair. “That’s why I allowed you to take a sip and have a taste of that ambition, using Styrx’s brain. My twin brother, Merlin Azrabel, and his company, Votech transported the brain to JinCorp. By separating and reuniting the Amiga Twins, who also united powerful heroes. By Hannya who collected hostages to gather immense energy. It was all planned carefully, so whatever the result was, you would be able to see the truth.”
“What truth?” Mayadenava asked.
“That your destiny is not to be the Patron of Everna and Omnia Universe, but to keep Black Hole, the Universal Doomsday away for as long as possible, probably, and hopefully, forever,” Alistair said.
“Let me get this clear,” Mayadenava said. “What’s a Black Hole? And why must I be the one to keep it at a safe distance?”
“Before I answer your question,” Alistair replied, “I must explain the origin of all things. When Supernova, the Big Bang broke my crust and gave birth to me, two things were created from it. The positive side of the force yielded the Omnia Universe. While the negative side produced an unlimited mass of void called the Black Hole. And then, I, the Source created countless beings from both the positive and negative sides of the force. And one of the most powerful beings from the Dark Side is you, Mayadenava.”
“So, you deliberately let the negative and dark beings exist to keep the universe in balance, wasn’t it?” Mayadenava asked.
“Yes,” Alistair replied. “Without balance, the universe will collapse. The spirit realms, Aethera and Nethera will also collapse. I will be the only one to exist, and the cycle will begin anew. In short, I must create the universe and the Black Hole again, only to see them all destroyed again and again in the end.”

“So, to prolong the life span of this old universe, the Black Hole must be suppressed at all times, right?” Mayadenava asked.
In the vast expanse of the Omnia Universe, Mayadenava found himself in a predicament. The responsibility of prolonging the life span of the old universe fell upon his shoulders. To achieve this, he must suppress the Black Hole at all times, a daunting task indeed. As Mayadenava pondered over the complexity of the situation, he voiced his thoughts to Alistair Kane, the most senior and experienced entity in the universe.
“So, to prolong the life span of this old universe, the Black Hole must be suppressed at all times, right?” Mayadenava asked, seeking confirmation from Alistair.
“That’s correct. Since the Black Hole and you were both created from the Dark Side, there is no other being more powerful than you to control and ‘rule’ over the Black Hole, the anti-universe,” Alistair replied with an air of certainty.
Mayadenava was relieved to know that he had a purpose in the Omnia Universe.
“I and the entire Omnia Universe need you. And for that reason, you’re a far greater hero than I have been and will ever be,” Alistair said, praising Mayadenava sincerely.
However, Alistair warned Mayadenava not to misuse his powers. “You surely won’t waste that privilege for a measly patronage over the galaxy or even replace me to take care of this complex universe, right?” Alistair cautioned.
“I won’t. As boring and lonely as it might be, keeping the Black Hole away is much simpler than a universe,” Mayadenava replied, assuring Alistair that he understood the gravity of the situation.
Alistair nodded and said his goodbyes. “There, you finally understand and know your place. Well, I must be off. I have a universe to take care of,” he said, flashing and disappearing.
Mayadenava was left alone with his thoughts, contemplating the enormity of his task. However, Alistair’s last words had put a bit of relief in his heart. He would be the guardian of the universe, and although it would be a long, boring, and monotonous job, he wouldn’t be lonely anymore.
“It’s always nice to have somebody to keep me company.” Mayadenava turned to his left, where he sensed a presence. “Isn’t that right… Shiori Amiga?” he said, calling out to the mysterious entity that had been lurking in the shadows.
Shiori Amiga’s spirit stepped forward, revealing itself to Mayadenava. “You got that right,” it replied, a mischievous glint in its eyes. Mayadenava couldn’t help but feel intrigued by Shiori, who seemed to hold secrets that he was yet to uncover.
Mayadenava smiled, remembering from now on and always that he had a vital role to play in the survival of the Omnia Universe.
