Shingo’s Diary
At last, came the opportunity I and Gale
waited for a long time.
It was the audience with the Supreme Leader
of the Yakuza, Akiba Maeda himself.
However, what came next was quite unexpected.
We were given an impossible mission,
and we had to do it without Hayato Mori’s help.
Shingo and Gale, the two newly graduated officers for the Silver Skull Gang, stood before the imposing figure of Akiba Maeda, the Yakuza Godfather. They had come to pay their respects and thank their Supreme Leader. The Godfather nodded in acknowledgment, then turned his attention to Shingo.
“Good. Wait, Amiga, you say? Is your family name short of Amigaharu?” Akiba rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
Shingo nodded. “Yes, Godfather. My late foster father, Takashi Miura told me I’m a descendant of Shogun Amigaharu Munetori, although he couldn’t point out whether it’s direct or not.”
“This is most interesting,” Akiba mused. “Anyway, keep trying to live up to your name, as Shogun Munetori was one of the most prominent heroes of Shima. I expect great things from you, Shingo Amiga.”
Shingo bowed deeply. “Thank you for your kind and wise advice, Godfather.”
Next, it was Gale’s turn to speak. “I thank you deeply, Godfather. As you have already known, I, Gale Zhao was once in the Jade Phoenix Triad. I offended my ex-boss, Wang Zi, and even fought him. Now, only death awaits me in the Triad, so I seek asylum and swear my allegiance and loyalty to the Yakuza, and plead for forgiveness to the Jade Phoenix Triad.”

Ah, yes. They once invaded our territories and battled the Onigami Gang there,” Akiba said, remembering the conflict. “They retreated to Wushutown after Hayato repelled them with the reinforcements. However, that left us with two major problems.”
Gale listened intently. “What are those?”
“One, you, Gale joined us after you fought your godfather and left your Triad, fearing they would execute you. So, I still have doubts about your fidelity, no matter how pure your intentions are,” Akiba explained.
Gale shrugged, knowing that he couldn’t change his past actions. “That can’t be helped. So, is there a way for me to correct that? If not, I’ll leave the Yakuza willingly.”
“There is a way,” Akiba replied. “The second problem is, in protest to the attack, the Onigami Gang used that to rebel against the Yakuza. The Okabe Brothers planned to take revenge on the Jade Phoenix and add Wushutown to their territory without our consent.”
Gale’s eyes widened in surprise. “What did you say? I have to help Wang Zi!”
“Hum, it seems you still have some loyalty to your old boss, no matter how cruelly he will treat you if you return to the Triad,” Akiba observed. “Very well then, here’s your mission. Go to the Sujima Slums in Eastern Daitoshi. Break into the Onigami Gang’s hideout and force the Tsukabe Brothers to yield and seek my forgiveness. The rest is up to the Yakuza.”
Gale hesitated for a moment, then asked, “What if I succeed?”
“You’ll have my full trust, like I trust Hayato Mori,” Akiba promised.
“Then I’ll go there first thing in the morning,” Gale said resolutely.
Shingo spoke up. “I’ll go with you, Gale, as a brother to another.”
Hayato joined in. “I’ll go too, but more like a supervisor. As always, I fight alone.”
“I thank you, my brothers,” Gale said gratefully.
“Well, good luck. Just count this as your first mission from me. Go now, I expect good results from you,” said Akiba.
Shingo, Gale, and Hayato replied with a salute, “We won’t disappoint you, Godfather.”
