Law is for everyone and so is bread

Law is for everyone and so is bread

The next morning there were around four Sonam tribesmen that had surrendered and were still alive. They were tied up and put on their knees with a few grey skin warriors and a single Gherseng guarding them.

Hailey had called out all the villagers to see what was about to happen. They all looked scared since there were still grey skins in their village. For them, it was hard to distinguish between the Sonam tribesman and normal grey skin.

"The kingdom of Fairfax is a kingdom of two races, grey skin, and human. Both races are equal in the eyes of law. Both races are to be respected and honored because. Both races will fight for the kingdom and nation. These four here broke the first and second law. As punishment, it will be........death."

The Gherseng standing behind them beheaded the four prisoners right in front of the crowd with just one swing of his glaive.

"This is the edict of our King and Raja. Rufus Fairfax of the kingdom of Fairfax. We came here to protect you and protect this law. The king could not come himself but he wishes to help you and serve you people and all of his people from grey skins to humans," Haley stated.

The grey skin warriors started to cheer. The villagers looked at the grey skins who started to cheer for the beheading of their own people. For them it was truly a strange sight.

The grey skins were about to leave the village. The villagers were still being wary of them. The grey skin warriors knew they were afraid of them and didn't bother to get any close to them. They knew that others of their kind had done wrong to them and decided it was just best to give them some space.

A little girl ran towards the grey skins. Her mother tried to stop her but she had already got to them.

The grey skin warriors looked confused as the girl just looked at them. She then smiled and gave Pema a small loaf of bread. Pema took the bread and then bowed to the villagers. The other grey skin including the Ghersengs also joined in on the bowing.

One little girl's gesture was all they needed. Soon a few other villagers joined in. They couldn't communicate with the grey skin, but they nonetheless wanted to show their gratitude. They gave flowers and food to the grey skins who all looked flabbergasted. One girl even placed a flower on the armor of one of the Ghersengs which made him blush eventually being made fun of by the other grey skins.

Hailey smiled and hoped many more humans would be as open as they were.

"Alright. One village down. Around many more hundred to go," Haley thought to herself.

Pema during the march back was just looking at the bread.

"You are supposed to eat it," Hailey said as a joke.

"Oh…. really? I didn't know that" Pema said and sounded serious.

"Wait you really didn't know what bread is?!"

"I was being sarcastic..."

"...You know you should really work on your people skills. Like when you're trying to be sarcastic you need to add a certain tone into your talking like this."

"Oh like this"

"Yeah, it's getting there, try it again."

"Like that. Was it good?"

"Not really…."
