Battle of river Ins part 2

Battle of river Ins part 2

"Kill! Kill! Kill!" The grey skins chanted as they advanced.

The grey skin warrior charge struck the royal army front line like a hammer. A regular grey skin was at least 2 meters tall and had lived a hard life in the mountains making them ferocious warriors. The grey skin warriors were easily outclassing the tired royal soldiers but the knights of the black sun were a different scenario. Joan and the rest of the knights killed rows and rows of grey skin warriors. The knights of the black sun were all partly divine with years of battle experience against grey skin and humans fought in numerous wars.

Joan herself also was an experienced warrior who wielded her greatsword like a fencing sword. Her footsteps looked like she was dancing amidst a battle.

Soon the initial charge was stopped. Tashi looked around and saw what needed to be done. He ordered the grey skins to retreat.

Joan was in the front lines and saw the enemy crumble and retreat. She then felt like victory was in their grasp. She commanded the soldiers to keep moving forward up the hill.

"Dirty and cowardly animals. Took only fifteen minutes for them to retreat," Joan thought thinking they had already won.

The royal army started to run after the grey skin warriors up the hill. The royal soldiers believed that they had just won the battle. The grey skins were easily able to shake off the enemy as they were retreating. The chase made the royal army lose their cohesion and made royal army lines scrambled.

Soon cries of war and battle drums were being heard again. Running steps were being heard and the enemy came crashing down on the enemy. This time it was not the ferocious grey skins, but the unrelenting rebel soldiers.

As the soldiers were about to reach the hill the rebel infantry charged them down the hill. The retreat was organized to make them think they had won and make the infantry lose their cohesion and discipline.

Again the royal army was being pushed back, but again no one was able to break or stop the knights of the black sun. Each knight was at least worth ten regular soldiers easily.

Joan was leading the advance of the knights of the black sun when suddenly someone attacked her with just his fists. Joan was able to defend with her sword but was pushed back. Pema had entered the battlefield with a handful of grey skin warriors.

The battle raged one with nobles fighting the rebelling nobles. Divine powers were released that defied nature that wreaked havoc among the regular soldiers and warriors. Count Hunyadi attacked with her thorn vines and stopped the enemy from moving. Pema was fighting off against Joan with fists hard as diamonds. Joan herself moved like a ballerina with a huge sword.

"HHHHOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Horn was being heard from the east. It was a flanking force that was coming from the opposite direction of the river. This was bad news for the royal army. Rikard took command and started yelling out orders.

"Soldiers! Move now!" he yelled.

He ordered the soldiers the move towards the direction where the battle horns were being heard. They ran and started to form lines to embrace the charge.

"Arrow fire!" a soldier yelled.

A hard stone arrow almost hit Rikard, but was reflected by him and rickoshed into a nobleman behind him killing him instantly.

Arrows were being fired that made the soldiers lift up their shields and get into a tight formation towards the east. Among them were precise and deadly stone arrows that always hit and killed their targets. One stone arrow went through a soldier's shield killing him and the man behind him.

The arrow fire didn't do much damage and the soldiers were in place. They formed a thick wall of spears and shields ready to take the enemy head-on.

The earth started to rumble. Rikard knew this was the sound of black yak charge. He was not worried and knew his lines would hold.

Rikard was startled. A large crash and cries of royal soldiers were heard from behind him. He looked towards the west towards the river. He saw grey skin warriors mounted on black yaks that had just attacked the opposite side where he believed they would have been attacked from.

"Damn animals!" Rikard yelled.

Rikard saw a small squadron of grey skins with arrows with a large horn on top of a standard. He realized he had just been fooled and the enemy had successfully flanked them.

The black yaks were hiding on the other side of the river using a hidden bridge to cross the river. They started their charge against the enemy's flank that was completely open and damaged by the hail of arrows. The charge hit a completely blind enemy.

Edward himself was riding at the front with a monstrous shine in his eyes.

The black yak cavalry struck the western flank of the enemy with huge devastating and was carving up the regular enemy soldiers.

"Move towards the west NOW!" Rikard yelled and ordered the soldiers to attack the enemy that had flanked them.

The hail of arrows continued. The royal soldiers were now easy pickings to the arrow fire as they were running towards the opposite direction, with their backs towards them.

The black yaks were trampling the enemy soldiers with ease and the royal soldiers started to flee. As the retreating soldiers fled they made the reinforcing soldiers advance even harder. The royal army had become a huge mess.

"What the hell is going on? Every move I made. Every choice I made. It is like I was dancing on the palm of my enemy," Rikard thought to himself.

Only the knights of the black sun were able to fight on while all the rest of the soldiers were being folded like a carpet.

"Get back to the fight you cowards," yelled Joan to her regular soldiers who were starting to rout.

The soldier started to run towards Rikard in terror of the black yaks.

When Rikard realized his own soldiers started to flee he started to cut his own men who tried to retreat past him. They stopped when Rikard killed at least twenty men with just one swing of his giant great sword. They looked terrified at their commander.

"The only way out of this battle is if you are able to fight your way out. This way is definitely an impassable route," Rikard stated to his fleeing soldiers.

"My lord. Our lines have broken. We have to retreat if we want to save our army," A nobleman who also was retreating yelled in horror to Rikard.

Rikard then cut off the head of the nobleman shocking everyone.

"I will only say this once. The only way out is if you are able to fight your way out," Rikard said and pointed his sword at the retreating men.

The soldiers realized they had no other choice than to fight. They started desperately pushing the enemy back. Rikard joined in the battle and was cutting through the black yak cavalry with ease. Soon the momentum of the battle had stabled.

Nothing is more fearsome than an animal that has been driven into a corner and has to claw its way out.

Edward saw the momentum change and knew that the black yak cavalry can not be stopped or they would be slaughtered.

Edward saw his father in the midst of battle. Edward saw this and started to cut his way through the enemy soldiers. He then was standing in front of his father. Edward didn't say a word and just went with huge rage to cut his father down.

Rikard was able to block the attack. Father and son stared at each other. Both just stood silently in front of each other. None of the other soldiers from any side wanted to disturb any one of them.

"Why won't you just die. You have already caused enough harm," Rikard said angrily at his own son.

"Heh. You haven't seen the half of the problems I will cause you," Edward said back and attacked his father.

Edward and Rikard started a brutal battle amidst the battle. Swords were clashing at an astonishing rate with Edward being able to hold his own against his father. Soldiers and warriors from both sides were being killed when they got too close to their fight.
