CHAPTER 73. Clash with a High-Phase Tier-3 Monster. (EDITED)

----------------------------------------

The man in the Golden black suit… no, rather the Trial World’s No.1 Alpha Chosen, Jay patted the kneeling Hobgoblin’s head and lifted it up.

Then, he swept his gaze at all of us, pausing at Olivia, she instinctively took a step back and fear was evident in her eyes. But she managed to get a hold of herself and nodded at Jay, who nodded back at her.

Unlike the Hobgoblin’s Tier Suppression, Jay didn’t outright pressure us, but his posture and the way he looked at us gave me a bad feeling, almost as if I was no longer in control of my own life.

To those who might not know better, it might look like an act of dominance, but from his eyes, I could tell that it was his pure confidence; this was to the degree, that he wouldn’t care about us, even if we all teamed up on him at once.

After that, my attention turned towards the person who just got off the floating sword, and was coughing in an embarrassed manner for some unknown reason.

I used the skill on him, and found his name to be Dante, along with some other information on his .

But the most peculiar thing, was that he levelled up from Lv.12 to Lv.13 right in front of my eyes, even when Dante didn't do anything.

In the case of Jay, when I used on him, I couldn’t find anything other than his name.

While I was thinking, Jay approached Andrea, who was still in awe from learning that the man in front of her, was the master of the powerful Hobgoblin.

Then, Andrea showed a startled expression, as she looked at the empty air in front of her and lifted her head back towards Jay, to which he told Andrea to accept something called ‘a Party Invitation’ and that it would only be beneficial for her.

At first, Andrea hesitated, but when the Hobgoblin monster mentioned that she could gain some of the Life Energy that its Master would obtain, she accepted it.

Once Andrea accepted the so called ‘Party Invitation’, she immediately levelled up once, startling us.

Kasim was the most excited one and from his face, I could tell that he wanted to ask Jay for that ‘Party Invitation’ that he gave Andrea.

But, at the same time, Kasim was too afraid to ask that man whose presence itself was so domineering.

Then, Jay asked Olivia if she wanted the ‘Party Invitation,’ to which she shook her head.

For an Independent woman like her, it was understandable to reject help from others, but for some reason, she didn’t even dare to meet his eyes.

Even when Olivia rejected his offer, there wasn’t any change in Jay’s expression, almost as if he expected it.

He then asked Andrea and Dante to just focus on increasing their respective Innate Talent Masteries.

After instructing the Hobgoblin monster to protect them, Jay pointed his hand in the south direction and disappeared from his spot, leaving a set of after images in his path.

Just the speed at which he moved was an evidence of how vast the difference in our power levels was. I hoped there wouldn’t come a day where I had to fight against that man.

From there, the habitat’s location of the Aerial monster was 14 km away to the south and with the continuous use of , it took me a little over one minute to arrive.

The transparent dome that enveloped the habitat, was the upper half of a hollow sphere with a diameter of 500 meters.

The first thing I did was to absorb a few Spirit Crystals to replenish my Spirit Energy.

After that, I placed my hand on the Transparent Dome and felt the ‘Law of Rules’ ingrained in the Dome barrier.

Just like MJ had said, Using the Stage-2 , I was able to manipulate the System restricted Dome.

But still, the extent to which I could manipulate it was limited, as I was only able to create a door sized pathway into the Dome, which I walked in through.

As for the hole, it slowly started to repair itself and at that rate, it would atmost take a few more seconds before it would completely close up.

Right then, I heard a loud screech from the centre of the Habitat within the Transparent Dome.

The screech became louder and louder, and soon the Aerial type monster appeared in my vision, as it flew towards me at a fast speed.

As the monster got closer, it's appearance became clearer; it resembled an Eagle, but it's overwhelming size was comparable to a fighter jet as it's wings spanned 13 meters (42 ft) wide, and from head level to feet it was 5 meters tall (16 ft).

It's body was covered in sharp emerald-green feathers, that shone from the light reflecting off them.

When I used on it, the Skill’s level increased from Lv.2 to Lv.8 in one leap.

[Lv.48 Storm Eagle (Tier-3; High-Phase)]

Other than it's level and Tier, I couldn’t find anything else in it's .

With the speed at which that monster flew, it took just 5 seconds for it to close up on me.

Instead of attacking me, it tried to exit the Transparent Dome through the hole, which was halfway through the self-repairing process.

But with its huge body, that hole in the Dome Barrier wasn’t big enough to escape. So, it tried to claw at the hole to make it bigger but no matter what it did; it wasn't able to budge the Barrier.

The Storm Eagle could only watch as the Hole completely vanished from the Transparent Dome, and only then did the monster turn its attention towards me. (E/N (Yuno): Imagine if it had its head through the hole, then it’d have been an easy win, although I suspect that Jay won’t have gotten any exp from that)

Maybe because it couldn’t escape the Dome, or that it was like any other monster which goes berserk on seeing Alpha-Chosen, the Storm Eagle let out an angry screech, that resounded within the dome.

Following that, it attacked me with its right claw that had sharp talons, clearly intending to kill me with a single strike.

The Storm Eagle underestimated me, if it thought that it could kill me with such ease.

Instead of dodging the incoming talons, I enveloped the with and at the same time to attack it.

The Storm Eagle seemed to have sensed danger from my attack and tried to change the course of its claw.

Still, it wasn’t able to escape, as the Sword attack struck its claw, snapping away a single one of the four talons of Storm Eagle’s claw.

Instead of going berserk after being wounded, it acted cautiously and flew into air, from where it attacked me using ranged Wind Element attacks.

Compared to the Dire Wind Wolf, the Storm Eagle’s Wind element attack damage output and their speed were on another level.

Even the huge trees were sliced apart like butter. MJ analysed that the maximum speed of Storm Eagle reached 120 m/s, and the attacks it created while moving at such speeds even reached up to 150 m/s.

If not for using , I wouldn't be able to dodge those sharp Wind Blades, that the monster continued to shoot down at me.

I was taken back by the Intelligence level of a Tier-3 monster, as it devised a counter after observing my movement ability in just a short time span.

It then used countless sharp Wind Shards to attack 200 meters around me, leaving me no way to dodge them, even when I used the .

I had 625 overall Stats whereas the Storm Eagle should have around 800 overall Stats, since it was Lv.48.

If I were to use mode, my overall stats would become 1000, and with the defensive properties of Origin Energy, I would only receive 50% 0f its wind elemental attacks’ damage.

Killing it like that would be a piece of cake, but I didn’t want to always rely on mode.

The reason why I decided to fight head-on against the Storm Eagle, was to hone my battle senses and gain fighting experience.

Even without entering mode, I had a few trump cards of my own.

Before the Wind Shards could reach me, I morphed my Golden Black Suit back to the Full Body Armour form.

In an instant, a pitch-black armour with golden patterns covered every inch of my body except for my head, which was enveloped in a protective layer of transparent scales, improving my overall defence by a whole lot.

When I was hit by those high-speed wind shards, they only managed to leave a few scratches on the Full Body Armour, which recovered in the next second.

Other than the occasional knockbacks from the impact of those Wind Shards, I didn’t receive any damage whatsoever.

The new revelation seemed to puzzle the Storm Eagle, as it paused its barrage of attacks.

I took that chance to activate the Stage-3 perk of Sword mastery, , to shoot 4 meter long Sword Aura Projectiles at the flying monster.
