259. ALTER REALITY (Part-3)

CHAPTER 259: ALTER REALITY (Part-3)

----------------------------------------

“And there’s one more thing. Is there a function within the VIRTUAL SANCTUARY that can replicate the process of ingraining information into one’s brain, similar to how the System transfers knowledge to increase Mastery levels?”

MJ nodded, though with a hint of hesitation. “It’s not as advanced as the System’s capabilities, but it does have a similar function.”

"Then let's build on that," Qew said, her voice firm with determination. "We could categorize knowledge across various fields into different levels of Masteries, making them available for purchase with in-game currency. A mathematician could enhance his expertise, an artist could perfect their craft—all without the need to spend years in practice. They could achieve all this simply by playing the game, even while they sleep."

"Run the final simulation with these parameters," Qew suggested, her tone signaling the conclusion of their discussion. "This was the scarce resource I mentioned earlier."

The simulation ran for the last time, the complex systems coming together seamlessly. The survival rate soared, reaching an impressive 81%.

MJ’s eyes widened as the implications became clear. “And since we’re going to release the S.E.E.D technology on the global market, people will flock to the game, drawn by the trust they already have in Olivia’s FUTURE Inc. products. Not only will they earn real money, but they could also use in-game currency to buy real-world items and vast knowledge, helping them advance their careers.”

Qew’s gaze was intense, her vision sharp. “Exactly. Imagine the motivation—being able to progress in life and career just by playing a game. The game-diving helmet will be affordable, accessible to everyone. With this, we could revolutionize the world. People will be able to learn, earn, and grow—all while they sleep.”

The scale of her plan was awe-inspiring. Jay and Kay exchanged a glance, both realizing that Qew had an extraordinary talent for designing a game that could save humanity and shape the future.

“I think it’s best if Qew takes the lead on this,” Kay suggested. “Her approach has the greatest potential to save lives.”

Jay nodded in agreement. “She boosted the survival rate to 81% with just a simple brainstorming session. With more time and preparation, I wouldn’t be surprised if she pushes it past 90%.”

Qew beamed, reassuring her brothers, “I’m going to give it everything I’ve got. This will be the best VR game experience the world has ever seen!”

Kay smiled ruefully at his sister’s enthusiasm. Her motivation seemed to stem more from the thrill of creating a groundbreaking game than from the weight of saving humanity. It reminded him of their brother, who would go to any lengths—even letting the world burn—if it meant protecting his family.

His thoughts were interrupted by Jay’s final decision. “Qew, you’re in charge of this project. Dedicate a few hours each day to working with MJ in his AI space to create a prototype. Have it ready within 20 days. We’ll review it together and make any necessary adjustments before releasing it in the first two weeks of the Beta Program.”

Qew nodded enthusiastically, eager to dive into the project. But Kay suddenly paused, a thought crossing his mind. “Wait a minute. We’ve got the plan, but we don’t have the VIRTUAL SANCTUARY yet. How much would that even cost?”

MJ responded instantly, “It costs 100 Universe Points. To put it in perspective, millions of participants in a typical Trial Program would struggle to earn even a single Universe Point throughout the entire duration.”

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Kay and Qew were left stunned, their earlier excitement quickly draining away.

But MJ wasn’t done yet. With a proud grin, he added, “But Master alone possesses 14,800 of those.” He puffed out his chest, then pouted as if he had been the one to earn them.

Qew, both relieved and slightly annoyed, pinched his chubby cheeks, causing him to yelp in pain.

“Ow… owww, Grand Aunt, please—st-stop! My cheeks!” MJ stammered, his words slurring as Qew stretched his cheeks.

“You little punk, you should’ve led with that! You had us worried for nothing,” Qew scolded, finally releasing him.

She dusted off her hands, satisfied after dealing with the mischievous AI. Jay gave MJ a sympathetic glance before turning to his sister. “Qew, since you’re heading this project, why don’t you come up with a name for the virtual game?”

Qew paused, considering what name would best capture the game’s essence. After a moment of thought, she looked up with a confident smile. “Alter Reality,” she declared.

Jay tilted his head, curious. “Why ‘Alter Reality’?”

Qew’s eyes gleamed with excitement as she explained. “‘Alter Reality’ captures the essence of what this game is designed to do. It’s not just about playing—it’s about preparing humanity for future challenges. The game will simulate scenarios we might face, pushing players to think creatively and act decisively. By altering the virtual environment and testing their limits, players will learn to adapt, survive, and even thrive in situations that mirror real-world crises, ensuring their chances of survival.”

Jay nodded, clearly impressed by her thoughtful explanation.

“I’ll spend four to six hours daily on the game,” Qew continued, her determination evident. “But I’ll still need to keep up with my training, too.”

As she spoke, something came to mind. She glanced at Kay and noticed the slight smile tugging at the corner of his lips. It only took a moment for her to remember why.

“Oh, and I haven’t forgotten our daily competition,” she said, narrowing her eyes playfully at him.

Kay’s smile widened. “Good. I was worried you might use this project as an excuse to skip out.”

Qew grinned, her competitive spirit flaring up. “Not a chance. We’ll still see who’s progressing faster, in both close combat and our Innate Talents. Just because I’m leading this project doesn’t mean I’m going to slack off.”

Jay chuckled from the sidelines, their rivalry adding a sense of normalcy to the monumental changes the world would soon face because of the decisions made in that car.
