CHAPTER 222: Aftermath (2)
----------------------------------------
Jay's evaluation of Felarial rose to a point where he granted one of the remaining 7 Major ORIGIN SIGILS, the Jupiter ORIGIN SIGIL.
Upon exiting his mind, Jay noticed an exquisite silver pattern forming on Felarial's glabella.
With
Brandon and Gabriel each carried Henry and Kasim, who had a semi-circular gaping hole in their waists.
Andrea walked alongside whilst stabilising their conditions but could do nothing to regenerate their lost body parts.
Her healing abilities had to be atleast at Stage-4 before she could recover lost body parts.
Andrea pleaded with a pale face, "Mr Jay, I can't hold out much longer; please save them."
When Jay came closer and placed his leftover hand over Henry, and closed his eyes without as much as a word, Brandon guessed his actions and stood still.
Before long, a silver pattern began forming the Roman number 'XIV' between Henry's eyebrows, and the lost half of his waist and chest began to recover from the continuous influx of Looted Stats he received from Jay.
Jay repeated the same with Kasim as he entered the bodybuilder's mind to seek approval. He granted the 'XV' Minor ORIGIN SIGIL upon the other party's agreement.
Not only did both their Innate Talents go up from Grade-8 to Grade-9, but they would gain 25% worth of Jay's overall stats. With 250 stats being ingested over time, they both would soon be in a much better state.
Jay turned to the five monsters approaching him; neither he nor the ones near him feared those monsters.
They were MJ's new corpse-integrate monsters, who took care of the remaining monster horde after Plasma Monster's death.
Against MJ, who could take over dead monster corpses at the expense of Looted Stats, the remaining hundreds of monsters didn't stand a chance and were wiped out within 10 minutes.
Jay sent three of MJ's monsters to protect Olivia, who was still undergoing her enlightenment. Sergei stood by her and was on the lookout without even attending to the remaining half of his left arm.
Jay had two of MJ's monsters guard near the unconscious, Dante and Felarial.
There were less than five minutes left for Dante's buff to wear off, and his Innate Exclusive skill,
If only Jay could use an ORIGIN SIGIL on Dante, he would have done so already, but his 2% mastery over Origin Energy was not high enough for him to provide one to a Unique Innate Talent user.
If it wasn't for the Fire and Wood Innate Talents, Felarial would have been considered a Unique Innate Talent user, and Jay wouldn't have been able to give him an ORIGIN SIGIL.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
Even the one he granted took effect only on his Elemental Innate Talents and not on the Unique Innate Talent,
While he was worrying for Dante, several different groups approached him. Among them, three were the Atlans, Lycanthropes and Magmoids. Atlans lost one of them in the battle, while the Magmoids lost two.
Lycanthropes were lucky enough to survive without any casualties. Their high regeneration abilities played a key role in survival.
The Horned Beetles, Owlites, Silephians and Tilephians gathered not far from him.
Jay passed by Akor and Halbor as he patted their shoulders, giving them his condolences for the losses.
Even with an arm missing, Jay's presence didn't lessen even one bit as everyone gave way for Jay to pass through them and reach the Horned Beetles.
His eyes landed on the one the Tier-2 Horned Beetles carried over their shoulders. Looking at Pompa, who had more than half of his body missing and remained conscious, Jay couldn't help but admire his Innate Talent.
Not only did Pompa's high Vitality manage to keep him alive, but it also passively regenerated the lost half of his body, albeit slowly.
If it wasn't for his exclusive skills in cooldown, recovering his lost body would have been just a matter of seconds.
Even without those skills, Pompa would only take less than a day to return to normal.
Pompa could not even speak for himself with most of his face deformed. Seeing Jay do something to Felarial, Henry and Kasim before their bodies start recovering, he deduced that Jay could heal others and make them stronger.
Atlans, Lycanthropes and Magmoids were the best examples of that. Compared to the beginning of the Tournament, they had grown considerably stronger by the end and took the stage by storm.
Linking all those pieces together, anyone could conclude it had to do with Jay, the strongest Earth's Alpha Chosen and undeniably the strongest individual on the entire Tournament Island.
Knowing that Jay could hear his voice, Pompa conveyed his heart out while shedding tears, 'Pontu and Pochi died right before me. I couldn't do anything when I was supposed to protect them. Plea….Please, make me stronger; I want to protect my fellow race members.'
Jay remained silent as he watched the little Beetle grieve. His genuine and heartfelt words for his race members, whom he had known for less than ten days, reminded him of Kay.
The emotional pain of losing two comrades was more for Pompa than the physical pain.
Jay couldn't help but wonder about himself and how three individuals under his protection lost their lives.
Before the monster invasion, Jay believed he had everything in control, and his words stemmed from that confidence.
He gave his best even under such an unpredictable and disastrous situation, saving as many lives as possible, especially those under his protection.
From the head count MJ gave him, 837 died among the entire 9196 Alpha Chosen on the Tournament Island.
The losses would have been overwhelming if not for Jay spearheading the entire way and MJ's strategising from start to end with the strongest bunch leading in the front.
However, out of those 837, 102 Alpha Chosen died due to the massive attack that destroyed one-fifth of the Tournament Island.
If Jay had known the attack range of the prehistoric skill beforehand, he would have planned accordingly so that no lives would have been lost unnecessarily.
Albeit unintentional, their blood was still on Jay's hands, regardless of how much he wanted to deny that.
He could only make sure not to repeat the same blunder; a blunder that cost a hundred innocent lives.
The invasion opened Jay's eyes, and he realised how naive of him to think he had everything under control. If something similar happens when his siblings enter the Trial World during the Beta Program, he will never be able to forgive himself. At such thought, his thirst for power grew even further.
Jay's gaze grew sharper as he looked at the individual who slowly approached not far from him.
