CHAPTER 215: Death and Despair
----------------------------------------
The greatest advantage the Fiends had over any other race in the entire Universe was their unparalleled Regeneration ability.
Although the subsidiary bloodlines among the Fiend Race couldn't be compared to their superior counterparts, they could still put most races at shame in terms of regeneration ability.
A monster with a subsidiary bloodline of such calibre stood terrified as it bled through the slashes left by the blade of Silver Energy.
The regeneration Plasma Predator has heavily relied on didn't show its effectiveness as the injuries remained open with no signs of recovery.
Even the sturdy defence of the scales all over its body proved less effective against the blade made of Silver Energy.
The impact was nowhere near explosive as the attacks Jay dealt through combining Pseudo-Speed Force and Thunder Miasma, but the piercing ability of the materialised Origin Energy was off the charts despite the strength behind each swing just reaching Tier-4 Low-Phase.
While in
As disappointing as it sounded, he could only make do with access to Origin Energy and skills like
However, the hidden effects of Origin Energy made up for the lack of overall stats, especially the effect of hindering regeneration in the damage-inflicted area.
Jay caught onto that minute detail and spammed a barrage of attacks using the materialised Origin Energy.
Each slash left a foot-deep injury on the monster's body but was not fatal enough to bring it down.
Other than slowing down the monster's movements, that didn't leave much impact on it just yet.
Any attempt to instinctively defend using Plasma Energy was met with an utter failure as it dissolved into nothing upon contact with Origin Energy.
Plasma Predator pulled itself together in the face of terror and tried rationalising the situation as it distanced itself.
It decisively ripped apart a chunk of its own flesh where it was slashed with a Silver Energy blade, and just as it had hoped, the Fiendish Regeneration kicked in and recovered the missing flesh in the blink of an eye.
While moving away from Jay, it repeated the same process with the other parts of its body and, one after another removed all the chunks of flesh that lost the ability to regenerate.
Jay chased after it but wasn't able to catch up to his target. The gigantic monster noticed Jay wasn't able to move as fast as he did prior to using Silver Energy and suspected he couldn't do that anymore.

Soon, it became obvious that if Jay really had the capability, he could have outpowered it rather than futilely chasing after it.
Every now and then, the monster's gaze landed on Olivia, who stood with her eyes closed while undergoing the enlightenment for a higher Tier Mastery.
It wished nothing more than to take out the immobile Omega Chosen, but going after her would present an opportunity for Jay to close in and once again strike with the momentarily materialised Origin Energy.
To make up for that, the Plasma Predator shot a beam of Plasma Energy from afar, directed at Olivia, but its long-range attacks proved ineffective against Olivia, who had the invisible forcefield to divert the trajectory of incoming projectiles.
The gigantic monster didn't give up even after its efforts failed.
A glint of cold light flashed in its eyes as Plasma Energy began to converge into a dozen orbs the size of an adult fist before being launched in several directions.
But none of those targeted Olivia or Jay. They went after the strongest bunch among the Alpha Chosen.
Among the fifty or so Tier-3 Alpha Chosen, the twelve most powerful ones became the target, with most of them being the Earth's Alpha Chosen.
It was so quick that they had little time to dodge those attacks. Only those with movement-based abilities were able to come out unscathed.
Rex, Seath and Min-soo had it the easiest as they moved out of the way in the nick of time.
Rex swished to the side with his high movement speed and even pushed his fellow Lycanthrope, Raul, out of harm's way.
Min-soo teleported himself out of danger, and Seath glitched his existence as the attack passed through him.
Brandon could be tied together with them since he threw his Spear and activated its inbuilt skill,
But he didn't come out unharmed, as the Spear he switched positions with was broken apart by the orb of Plasma Energy.
His spirit bond with the weapon broke, causing a backlash from the sudden loss of stats.
However, it wasn't anything serious as the side effects were just temporary and could be elevated over time or by forming a bond with another Spirit Weapon.
Kensei brought out his most powerful attack, using his Sword Intent to counter the Plasma Energy orb thrown at him.
Although that didn't nullify the incoming attack, that slowed it down, providing enough window to move himself out of the attack's trajectory path.
Akor did the same as he quickly manifested a hard shell made of Volatile Aqua to buy himself an extra split second to evade the deadly attack.
Sergei reacted as quickly as possible but still lost half of his left arm; everything beneath his elbow blasted into smithereens.
He wasn't the only one with missing limbs. Vral, the female Centaur, lost both her hind legs from that attack and lay helpless on the ground.
The ones in an even worse shape were Henry and Kasim, as each lost half of their waist, leaving a semi-circular gaping hole in them.
Pompa was in an even worse condition, with half of his body missing. Anyone would have died from such fatal damage, but he still hung on his last breath with his high Vitality.
With both his 2nd and 3rd Innate Skills in cooldown, he could only rely on his superior regeneration to recover.
Two of his race members weren't as lucky as him and died without leaving an intact corpse.
Tears trickled down Pompa's deformed face as he helplessly watched what was left of their corpses.
At the corner of his eye, he could see another similar attack making its way towards him. If it were to land on him, he would die with no doubt.
He refused to die without avenging his fellow Horned Beetles, but he was powerless to even move in that state, much less kill such a terrifying monster.
Pompa wished for another miracle, like how Jay saved him from the monster's attack during their bout. But deep down, he knew miracles wouldn't happen twice.
A second has passed, and the expected death didn't greet him. He opened his eyes only to see the miracle in the form of an Earth's Alpha Chosen. However, it wasn't Jay but one of the weaker ones among the Earth Team.
