Inside some sort of lab with a bunch of tools and bottles of unknown liquids a man with longer hair and a shaggy beard was seen.
"I think I am going to need some more Dreek Weed to synthesize this correctly" Adrian said as he looked at the beaker inside his hand.
He swirled it around a bit before he set it down and pulled out some crushed powder from seemingly nowhere and sprinkled it into the beaker.
The concoction started to bubble violently before it settled and changed colors from brown to green.
Adrian picked it up as he laughed in delight "HAHA success! I concocted my first Dreary potion!"
---
Sitting in the lotus position Adrian was seen meditating as fluxes of energies swirled around him forming a whirlpool above his head. He breathed in deeply as the mana surrounding him entered into his body.
He exhaled a deep breath as contentment filled his face "Finally advanced to Grand Magus" he said as he let a fire flicked on his palm.
He was inside of a tower that was a few stories tall, sitting in the room at the summit.
"Now to find that bastard and get my revenge! Who told that dog to challenge me!" he left the room in a hurry.
---
Bent over a table Adrian was scratching his head as he tossed a paper into the air. "This is wrong again! These runes are just too complex!"
"There must be more information from the ruins I got them from! I must go back" he said as he walked out of the room
---
"aha! I found it" he said as he looked at a wall with depictions of runic symbols on it. He began to transcribe them to take them back so he could research them later.
Knowledge was the biggest thirst of man after all. Nothing could stop their pursuit for it.
---
"I can place these here like this" he said looking back and forth at the runes he had transcribed and the new one he was making. Drawing lines as he filled them with magical power.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"If I can make a new rune I will become a legend!" Adrian laughed as he began to finish up his rune, his hand steady so he did not make a mistake.
He finished up his rune and it began to glow as he filled it with magical power. He stepped back with a look of anticipation. "The life rune! It will be able to prolong one's life! All those old fogies who are on their deathbed will kill to get this rune template!"
The rune flashed and Adrian grabbed it as he slapped it onto his chest, he knew the rune had activated so he wanted to use it, no one would turn down extra years to live after all.
"What the hell?!" Adrian gasped as he felt a pain in his chest, his vision spinning.
"NO!" Adrian screamed as he tried to take the rune off his chest, but it was too late. The rune has stuck to his chest draining his magic power as it continued to power itself.
"What have I done?!" Adrian said weakly as he collapsed to the floor.
---
Adrian woke up with a gasp "A dream?!" he looked around and he was sitting on top of World, the same place he went to sleep at.
"No it can't be a dream! It was too realistic" he felt his face, there was no beard there. "My past life? I remember it?"
"No, only parts of it" he said as the scenes flashed through his brain.
"I was a magus" Adrian said as he looked through his memories.
He began to slowly piece together what this all meant and he realized that in the past he had somehow drawn a rune in order to increase lifespan and accidentally made a rune that makes one reincarnate.
"An unfortunate accident for sure" Adrian said as he sighed.
However, Adrian considered this as an absolute win for his current situation. He now knew how to practice magic! He just had to follow in the footsteps of his past life and he too would one day become a Grand Magus!
From what he understood, he from his past life would be able to easily wipe the floor with multiple Raushan's put together, so he was unquestionably strong.
He decided to sit down as he began to meditate, just like in his previous life. He felt the mana in the atmosphere as he began to draw it into his body. He began to condense the atmosphere into a liquid state inside of his body.
He knew the first step on his journey would be condensing a mana pool inside of his stomach from which he could withdraw reserves of mana from. And because he had already done this once before he was able to progress very fast.
Within one day he had finished this step and entered the first level of being a magus. "Easy enough" said as he began to start on the next step, noticing his combat power had gone up two ranks just from condensing a mana pool.
He had to condense spell runes into his bones that he could use to cast spells. The more runes he had condensed the more spells he could cast instantaneously. The runes had to be of a certain rank, because if they were too strong he might die.
He could also cast spells from runes written on paper, or even drawn using mana in mid air, but the cast time was not instantaneous and a magus' power was determined by the number of runes he had condensed inside of his body.
Adrian got to work as he periodically listened to the reports of the goblin riders who were scouting for the enemies Adrian knew would soon come.
Quickly four days passed as Adrian continued to meditate.
