Adrian looked at the skill book, it was a skill called [Animate Plants], it allowed the plants that Adrian cast it on to move around freely. It pretty much just made it so plants can uproot themselves and walk around.
This skill was quite useful for his dungeon! He could even command the plants he animated, and although the skill only worked for as long as he could supply mana, it was still very useful.
He opened his stats page
Name: Adrian
Species: Human
Skills: [Inspect] [Bestow Intellect] [Animate Plants]
Combat Power: ☆☆☆☆☆④
The skill had even made his combat power go up by one rank! Although this was not a large increase it was still progress.
Adrian decided to use his skill, he turned to World as he activated the skill all his mana getting sapped instantly as his vision blacked falling to the ground.
Adrian woke up a few moments later with a massive migraine and a weakness that spread throughout his entire body, he was barely able to move. He struggled to a seated position as he began to meditate and recover his mana.
Slowly he regained his rosy complexion as he said "Maybe testing my skill on World was not a great idea", World was a massive plant, and required an equally massive amount of mana to animate.
He headed down the tree and walked up to a smaller plant as he activated his skill. The plant uprooted itself as Adrian began to control it, making it walk around and attack some nearby trees as practice.
Although the plant had a very weak attack power, due to it being just a regular plant. Adrian confirmed through this that if he animated an even stronger plant his attack power would increase accordingly
Thinking along these lines Adrian teleported into the forest area of his dungeon. He was able to place himself, or any monsters he controlled anywhere he wanted inside of the dungeon with a thought. It was very convenient.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
He used [Animate Plants] on a Bruiseberry bush that was in front of him. The bush stood up and Adrian controlled it as he made it walk around. He punched out a few times and felt the strength difference between the two plants.
Oddly enough though he noticed that his mana was not being drained, he tried to sense the mana in the area and noticed that the dungeon was still feeding the plant mana. It wasn't using his mana in order to animate the plant!
He had just found an exploit! He laughed slightly as he began to walk around the forest casting [Animate Plants] on all the plants and flowers inside of his dungeon.
After he did all this he realized now that although he was able to control every plant in his dungeon, he had to be the one to do it manually which would be very taxing on him when there were more intruders. He was only one person after all.
He thought for a bit before his eyes lit up and he walked to the nearest plant.
"[Bestow Intellect]" he pointed his hand towards one of the plants as mana left his body.
The plant then moved up one of its branches as it saluted at him. Adrian looked at this odd scene as he did not expect the plant to salute him with one of its branches.
"Can you understand me?" Adrian asked the plant to which the plant began to bend back and forth as if shaking its head yes.
Adrian marveled at this before he left the plant to do its plant things, whatever those were and began to slowly bestow intelligence to all the plants inside the dungeon.
He noticed that the mana cost for using this skill on plants was drastically smaller than the cost to use it on the goblins and verdant wolves from before. Most likely because they were much simpler creatures.
Eventually he finished all the plants, and he watched as a few of them walked about the dungeon, just roaming about their business. Others were still planted in the ground opting not to use their new mobility as they were comfortable where they were.
He just gave them the basic command to stay within this room and defend it before he walked into the hedge maze.
He cast both animate plants and bestow intellect on the Hedge Maze, the bestow intellect sapped all of his mana as he sat on the floor gasping for breath. This Hedge Maze was much larger than the other plants after all.
Technically this entire Hedge Maze was considered one plant. So it was no wonder that it cost a lot of mana to give it intelligence.
He replenished his mana before he stood up and looked at the Hedge Maze who was still standing there. "Go ahead and continuously move your passageways. Make sure that at random intervals the exit at the center changes positions"
His hedge maze was now a moving hedge maze, it would be much harder for intruders to pass through a maze that had its routes change constantly.
He watched as a section of the Hedge Maze opened up before him and another side to his left closed, the hedge leaves growing over to the side in order to fill the gap.
The worst part for intruders was that if you got caught by the hedge while it was moving and it felt threatened then it would shoot its thorns at you!
Adrian left the dungeon after he checked out the dungeon fully satisfied with the new skill he had obtained.
