In the commons sector of Daimon Island, Kenta and Hibiki are walking on a busy street. The loud honking of cars and swarms of people are accompanied by a bright fire hot sun. Kenta and Hibiki head into a small restaurant named “Famous Burgers”. The restaurant has red and blue sofa seating with brown tables and a bar in the back.

“Alright, let's go find her and make her talk.”

“Whoa whoa Hibiki, you’re way too hot headed. How about we follow my lead on this okay. Just keep an eye on me and if anything goes wrong you step in.”

“We know what she’s done, what’s the point. Let’s just arrest her and get this over with.”

“Heh heh, seriously how were you even picked to be a detective? Look, it’s best for all of us if we don’t cause such a big commotion in this small restaurant. Besides, we don’t know her story. All we’ve done is put some pieces together and came to an estimated guess.”

“Fine, I’ll follow your lead.”

“There we go. All right, go have a seat somewhere and let me talk to her.”

Hibiki goes and sits at the bar seating of the restaurant. Kenta approaches a black haired girl with yellow eyes and sits down across from her.

“Excuse me ma’am, I don't mean to bother you. I’m detective Mayeda of the DIPD. I just wanted to ask you a couple questions regarding the murder of Tracy Jenner.”

“Oh-oh yes. She was my best friend.”

“Just to make sure, I am speaking to Rei Sawa correct?”

“Yes, that's me. Are you really a detective? You seem kinda young.”

“I’m a rookie detective, we’re all young. But back to the point, you were the last one to see her alive, yes?”

“Y-Yes that’s right, well there was a hour gap between that and her death so it’s not for certain.”

“Right, and an estimated hour later she was found dead and said to be a victim of the serial killings going around. She didn’t tell you where she was going?”

“N-no, I just thought she was going home.”

“I find that hard to believe. I mean her body wasn’t found even remotely close to her house. On top of that her mother said she never saw Tracy come home. She was worried sick. You were the last to see her and you’re her best friend as well. And she just… Didn’t tell you where she was going.”

“I-I don’t know what you want me to say! She came to my house to hang out. Then she left to go somewhere and I went to go see my boyfriend.”

“Oh I’m glad you brought that up, it was my next point. We talked to some of your other friends and they said ever since you got with your boyfriend Ryota Shima, you’ve been acting strange. You’re jumpy all the time as if you’re constantly in fear.”

“M-My f-friends like to… Over exaggerate things. They were probably being sarcastic.”

“Oh of course, I get that. However Mr.Shima here has previously been arrested for attempted murder. But the victim came out and said that the entire case was a lie... Now this is just speculation, but I think your boyfriend is the serial killer we’ve been looking for. He’s been murdering people and racking up a body count that’s hit seven and could keep going. For whatever reason, he killed your best friend Tracy Jenner. I also think you know about it, but he’s threatening you and forcing you to keep it a secret.”

Rei quickly gets up and slams her hands on the table making a sound loud enough to get the attention of everyone in the restaurant.

“ENOUGH! YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT! YOU SOUND CRAZY! I DON’T HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS!”

Rei storms over to the restaurant doors. Kenta gets up and quickly follows her. Hibiki gets out of his seat and gets ready to stop Rei. Before he could make a move, Kenta signals him to stop as he follows Rei outside.

“Ms.Sawa please wait! We can help you. Don’t you want to be free from him?”

Rei stops walking and turns around to Kenta with a nervous look.

“I-I can’t be free of him. He’ll kill my family.”

“Ms.Sawa, I promise you nothing will happen to your family. We just need you to come with us to the precinct.”

“Us?”

Rei notices Hibiki standing in the distance observing the conversation.

“Is he one of your detective buddies as well?”

Hibiki approaches Rei and stands next to Kenta.

“Ma’am I’m detective Hattori. Look he’s right, all you need to do is go to the precinct with us. You’ll be safe there. Then give us Ryota’s location and we’ll handle it.”

Rei pauses and thinks about the offer. After a while, tears suddenly begin to stream out of her eyes.

“P-Please, Please help me. I’ll do whatever you want. Just please get rid of him.”

Kenta puts his arm around Rei’s shoulder to comfort her.

“You have our word ma’am.”

Afternoon arrives in Daimon Island. The sun is beginning to set as the temperature gets cooler. The terror of the night slowly approaches accompanied with a warm mild breeze. After an exhausting day, Yamato and Kiara approach the police station. Kiara snaps her finger in front of Yamato who appears to be lost in a deep thought.

“Yamato! Yamato! HELLOOO!”

“Oh! Sorry Kiara, I was just thinking about something.”

“Thinking about?...”

“When me and Kiria first got this case, we were told that this drug dealer was taking away business because of his high end drugs. But I doubt drugs that kill you in ten minutes would make a lot of money.”

“What are you saying?”

“I’m not sure myself. But something tells me we were too late to the investigation. Whatever he’s trying to do, he’s close. And we’re too late to the party. I think if I try to look more into encounters further back instead of more recently I can find something.”

Yamato and Kiara open the door to the station and walk in. Inside, all the rookie detectives are gearing up and getting ready for something big.

“You’re late Yamato. We almost started without y’all.”

“Kenta? What’s going on?”

“Me and Hibiki were investigating a lead on the serial killer. We think we have the killer's next target. All rookie detectives have been tasked with the capture of the murder suspect Ryota Shima. This is our first big test by the senior detectives.”

Captain Sanders walks into the main area with the senior detectives behind him. The rookies stop what they’re doing and focus their attention on the captain.

“Listen up, rookies! This will be your first of many tests to come. You’re to arrest the murder suspect Ryota Shima and prevent the murder of his next target, Kory Grove. Yamato, Kiara, I understand y’all arrived late but I expect both of y’all to be ready.”

“YES SIR!” They both yelled.

“Good, best of luck rookies. LET JUSTICE PREVAIL!”

“YES SIR!!”
