Chapter 76 Bluedragon sisters
Under the golden heaven with it's purple clouds the sound of explosions came closer and closer bringing them back to reality. Once again tension rose across the faces of the defenders, but now there was also determination in them. The will to defend themselves, their homes and their future.
Now there was a certain coldness in their eyes as they looked at the advancing army that now covered the whole horizon before them turning it into a sea of white armours and banners. This were their enemies, the men they would kill. The ones standing between them and their future. And for many of them, the last things they would ever see in life.
Nevertheless now there was no one willing to let go of his weapon, no one that had even the thought of giving up and surrendering. Instead fighting spirit, the will to kill as many as possible before going down themselves shone in their eyes. As the army closed in, the fighting spirit slowly turned into killing intent and when the army finally reached the walls the fighting spirit already rocked to the heavens, making the fortress seem even bigger then it already was.
The killing intent was fiercer enough to in still fear in thus crazed maniacs charging towards him causing them to hesitate for a moment. In this moment of hesitation multiple formations activated. Huge balls of fire and showers of arrows formed out of ice or metal rained down onto them causing horrible causalities.
Nevertheless in the next moment the followers of the church once again started to chant.
"Kill the humans, kill the heretics. Offer them to the gods!"
"Kill the humans, kill the heretics. Offer them to the gods!"
Their voices got louder and louder and as they continued on chanting a red mist started to appear in their eyes. A fiercer aura started to emit and they did not care about their comrades that were blasted apart next to them. They only saw one goal.
To kill everything before their eyes.
As they chanted their words, on the other side of the wall the soldiers and even normal civilians that had originally hid inside of their houses, but now came out started to chant their own sentences. Two sides, separated by a single wall with it's countless formations chanted with all their might, pouring everything into their words.
But strangely as the two chants were compared, one was completely empty, only some words they said to encourage themselves. There was no real emotion, no real desire inside of their words. The other one, even though it's called one chant was composed of thousands of chants, of the sentences different people in the city. There were thousands of desires, thousands of believes coupled to this chants. And all together they formed what came over the walls and entered the church's followers ears.
Then it happened quickly.
The demons on the outer side of the wall began to charge towards the wall of formations between them and the actual city wall. Techniques were activated and light beams filled the sky as the followers of the church used their cultivations. Thousands of spears, swords, light beams, lightnings made of qi slammed into the semitranslucent blue wall causing it to shake a bit. Tiny cracks appeared at it's surface, but as soon as they appeared they already closed again.
This was one of the other benefits of formations formed out of qi, as long as they are not destroyed, they could repair themselves if given enough qi.
Relieve was flooding Reis face as she saw that the formations were holding. She had not been sure if they were enough es she never had done something like this before, but now it seemed that the formations would cold a bit. At the same time Reis gave the order to attack.
Legions of soldiers on and behind the walls started to condensate their techniques. A moment later swords, light beams and arrows rained down on the demons before the wall causing even more deaths. After this some man on the walls took their swords into their hands and with a yell they jumped down the wall engaging into the enemies.
This were exactly the people that swore to the heavenly daos before, causing the sky to become golden. They were not afraid of death, nor were they of pain. They knew that this would decide their future and their countries fate.

Soon the sound of blades crushing against each other mixed with the pained yells of the dying filled the area. The soldiers of Sword Bird city charged into the enemy troops, instantly killing three or four men. After that they madly attacked anything in front of them, slicing the enemies into small pieces. There were no qi techniques involved, in fact there wasn't even much of a sword technique. It was the pure clash of man against man.
They killed, killed and slaughtered anything they could while still chanting their own chant. it was as if they were death angels praying for the ones that would die under their sword.
But even if they engaged furious and killed many of the enemies, at one point they were just surrounded and killed with numbers. Their death bodies fell to the ground, but as if they were zombies, they once again stood up and carried on fighting. It was as if something would hold them in their place, something that did not allow them to die.
Soon there were warriors fighting with only one arm, only the lover half running around and kicking the enemies, while the upper half was swinging a sword. A middle aged man, with a long brown beard that was just cut into two halves suddenly moved his hand and gripped a sword. Then with one yell he rammed it into a enemies leg.
In the next moment his skull was crushed.
But then suddenly a green light appeared everywhere on the battle ground. It flowed towards the soldiers struggling to continue their fight, the warriors that were lying on the ground cut into pieces, but still continuing their slaughter.
It flew to the middle aged man who's skull was just crushed. And as it touched their bodies, they suddenly rapidly started to heal.
Before the wide eyes of the church's followers, the wounds on the soldiers bodies closed and even the crushed skull of the middle aged man regenerated. In the next moment he was up on his legs again. On the whole battle field the soldiers that were hacked into pieces quickly reassembled themselves.
They looked down their bodies and then started to laugh. A crazed laughing causing their enemies blood to freeze.
"Ya wanna kill us? Stop dreaming and bring it on."
Yelling they once again engaged into fighting, killing their way through the masses.
Three times they were healed in this fashion until:
"All man retreat to the walls."
As they heard the command they immediately rushed back to the wall. the formations that blocked the enemies of the church from entering was just letting them through as if nothing would happen.
On the wall they saw Reis that was tiredly sitting down onto a chair. Beads of sweat were running down her body.
She had been the one healing all the men three times in succession. It had been her dao of Jerna that allowed her to do so. After all the dao of Jerna was a natural dao. A dao that influenced the nature. In fact the dao of Jerna was nothing more then the regenerative power of Nature. And now, four years after she received it from Zes, Reis had already completely comprehended the dao of Jerna. It was because of this that the was able to heal a few thousand men three times just like this.
For any normal person, this would be completely impossible! It was only because she had completely mastered the dao and the dao of Jerna was a creationstage dao that she was able to heal all of them.
But even with her comprehension and the powerful ability of the dao of Jerna, she could not sustain it too long and now after three healing even Reis had hit her limit.
But it was really worth it. In this fight they had literally lost not a single man while causing thousands of deaths within their enemies troops. Considering the total situation a drop on the hot stone.
But now that their men were back in the castle it was the Bluedragon sisters time to act.
Les and Zoe had just arrived at the watchtower.
"Now it's our time to shine isn't it?"
The two of them smiled.
"Well then."
Les said.
"Let's show them what we can, right?"
Zoe said.
