MC POV
”I’m the regressor..”
Ynnihlas spoke with a stern tone.
I blinked. “Eh?”
I was not expecting that in anyway. However I’m not so easily trusting to eat those words right away.
“How do I know this isn’t all a lie?” I asked him.
Ynnihlas sighed and put the journal down.
“I don’t know how can I prove it to you.”
I thought for a moment. What he said is indeed right. Time regression isn’t something you can easily prove, but I had a though in mind.
“How about telling me something that’ll happen very soon, and if it does indeed happen, I might believe you.”
If it was just somebody random regressing in time I wouldn’t care, but that journal has a lot of things about me, and if they are indeed true and will actually happen in the future, I would be curious.
Ynnihlas hearing my words looked happy ..but then sad.
He looked at me and said wirily, “Assassination of Princess Rebecca, it’s a month later and you’re supposed to save her.”
“How do I know you won’t just send assassins at her?.” I knew that was slightly unreasonable, but I don’t want to be tricked.
“I have no reason to do that, and even if I wanted to, I don’t have the power to bypass her guards in the slightest. However the assassins that will go after her will be able to kill her guards and then fight with an elder of the Mystic Cat Clan, while the cat fought with several assassins, one of them managed to slip and attacked the princess, luckily the assassin wasn’t as strong as the others and you were able to barely kill him. This was how the princess described the battle, if it’s entirely true or not, I don’t know..”
“Where will this situation be carried?”
”I will be in between Bylmind and Ojorr.” he answered immediately.
There was a name I was familiar with.
“Isn’t Bylmind the city near Silesia?” I asked him.
“Yes, it’s also a city that is parallel with Silesia and both are near the border. The princess will leave tomorrow for The Sun Kingdom, and when she comes back, it will be through Bylmind, when she crosses the border of The Sun Kingdom and enters the Caio Kingdom, she’ll be attacked.”
I nodded, but something is off.
“Why would I be at the borders?”
“Eh?” Ynnihlas looked spooked.
“I said why would I be at the borders a month from now, if anything, I would already be on my way to the Mayr Kingdom.”
Ynnihlas sheepishly scratched the back of his head.
“It’s a butterfly effect that I unknowingly created.”
I sighed. “What did you do?”
“I might have helped you heal…”
I blinked once again..
“And… when’s that?”
“When you were fighting the [ Dragon-Blood Lizard ]” He looked away as he spoke with uncertainty.
Aghh.
My head is hurting from this situation. Helping me heal is certainly something that would cause a butterfly effect. As a control freak, I won’t do go to an unknown kingdom without completely being in top shape.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
If It wasn’t for the stat points I used, I don’t think I would be completely healed even after all this time.
But there was only one mystery question left to ask.
“What is you motive, why is your grandfather so obsessed with me, as to write information about me?”
I went straight to the chase.
Ynnihlas was also wearing a serious expression on his face. He took a deep breath and finally spoke.
“It’s because you hold something that can save my sister from dying.”
….
“I thought you’re sister is dead.” I spoke without giving it much thought.
He nodded, “indeed, in the future she will die, but now she’s alive.”
I understood the situation.
But I still don’t know what he was talking about.
“How am I supposed to save her?”
This time it was Ynnihlas’ turn to blink. “Well, I don’t know, but it was mentioned that dragon-blood was needed and something else, something only you have. That’s all my grandpa told me.”
I still haven’t devoured that damned lizard, so I do indeed have its blood in my [ Dimensional Storage ], but I have no idea about the other thing.
Well firstly I need to confirm if what he’s saying is true and then I’ll return the favor. So I made a proposal.
“Okay then, how about this, as long as that journal indeed has written down events that’ll happen and you give It to me, I’ll try to save your sister.”
“Deal!”
He swayed his hand forward almost immediately.
I smiled, “you’re quite trusting, aren’t you?”
He also chuckled, “Maybe I just know you more than you think.”
We shook hands.
I’ve seen a lot of stories about people refusing to look at their future, refusing to know things they would go through. But not me. Reality will tell you that’s a lie, in this world you need to use every card you’re dealt and use them to your advantage, and knowing bits of the future is a big ace to have up your sleeve.
Minutes later, somebody knocked at the door.
“Come in.” Ynnihlas spoke.
The door opened and the maid named Anna came in.
She bowed slightly towards both of us and spoke in a respectful tone, “The room is already prepared, you can use it at any moment.”
“Oh, thank you Anna, why don’t you escort Leonidas to his room while I pay a quick visit to Amelia.”
“I shall do that young lord, I hope your excellency follows me.”
She bowed to Ynnihlas and then she turned towards me.
I nodded and followed her, while Ynnihlas also left for somewhere else, to his sister’s room perhaps, I had no idea what’s her name, so I just made an assumption.
The maid led me to a big room. A king-sized bed, large wardrobe and a bathroom inside the room.
Pretty cozy. I nodded in satisfaction.
“Thank you Anna.” I looked at the maid.
“Happy to be of help, your excellency.” She bowed and left after closing the door.
Leaving me behind as I pondered about every single detail about the previous conversation I had with Ynnihlas.
Zerrian Family. If that journal is accurate, it means that they’ll be my enemies. But for now I have no reason to hate them, there is no bad blood across timelines. But if they do indeed target me they’ll suffer at my bloody grip and pay the price for standing in my way.
Right now I was about 70% sure that Ynnihlas wasn’t lying, as for the rest of the percentage I’m unsure of is because I’m dealing with an unknown force ..time.
Just like Space, Time is also a singularity, one that can’t be predicted easily not even for an old soul like me, not yet anyway.
Because time has been the topic that has been spoken today, my mind went to space.
When I gained the [ Ice Crow Bloodline ] I also awakened the Space Affinity.
It was rather weird that the grade of the affinity didn’t show and there were only question marks instead.
I’m not sure whether that’s a good or a bad thing. My instincts say that it’s a good thing, but I have yet to taste the wonders of the affinity.
I had no way of obtaining Space-related magic, I also didn’t know where to start. It wasn’t as simple as training mana, or creating skills based on what I already have. It’s one of the strongest elements, a singularity just like time.
I had spent a lot of time in that shitty void, but that only gives me imagination of what space looks like, not how to manipulate it.
The old man mentioned a friend of his with the space affinity.
His name was …Damien Vaan if I’m not mistaken, if I ever see him, I’ll use my connection to the old man to secure me some space related spell. I’m sure the old man won’t mind me using his connection for me to get stronger right?
But before I start learning spells, I needed to learn space conversion. Just like turning attribute-less mana into Ice mana, I need to do the same with Space mana. If Ice was a hard-difficult element to grasp, Space is ultimate hell-difficulty.
I suddenly had a yearning for knowledge for elements so I found a book from the old man’s collection that talked about Elements, and certainly, slowly but surely I found one.
‘Elements’
A simple name, but a lot of words written into it.
The Three basic Elements:
Fire Element -
Water Element-
Earth Element -
Lighting Element-
After the basic came the mutant elements:
Mud Element
Nature Element
Ice Element
Lava Element
Wood Element
Metal Element
Poison ..
…..
…
…….
There were a lot of mutant elements, the book told that some rate them, but some don’t. Because each mutant element has their own specialization and can only shine when the wielder uses the elements’ full potential, so one can’t judge the mutant elements’ strength. As I read through the important information I ended with the last category. The two singularities…
The Time and Space Element.
I have the Space Affinity…
And I have no idea of how to begin with it…
I just let myself be engulfed by the darkness..
I might think of how when I wake up..
