Paramisia Auction I

40. Paramisia Auction I

Next day. I woke up in the morning and as soon as I did, I heard a knock on the door.

“The Young lord has invited you to breakfast, your excellency.” A female voice sounded behind the door, making me believe it’s Ynnihlas’ maid Anna.

“I’ll be there in a second.” I said lazily. I picked up a few clothes from my [ Dimensional Storage ] and wore them.

I went to the toilet, where everything looked nice. An unused brush and a towel.

I did something I haven’t done in a while, brush my teeth that is. I didn’t need to because I could just cool my mouth with ice, but the craving for nostalgia was still there. I brushed my sharp teeth and sprayed some water on my face and used the towel to dry it.

Only then did I leave the room.

The maid was just outside the room, standing near the door, she looked at me and bowed slightly.

“Follow me your excellency.”

I nodded and followed her to the dining room.

We entered a room with a huge table in the middle and various shiny designs on all corners of the room.

I saw Ynnihlas sitting near the top spot on the table, while an elf who had pitch black hair and blue eyes sat on the top of the table, the elf excluded a strong mana fluctuation around him. I’m sure that’s not on purpose, but that just shows that the elf before me is very strong. Strong to kill me without much difficulty.

“Good morning Leo.” Ynnihlas broke the tension in the room by greeting me.

“Good morning.” I also greeted back and the sat in the opposite direction of Ynnihlas.

The elf, who I assumed was Ynnihlas’ father spoke.

“So you’re the friend Ynni spoke about, my name is Frenhil, sorry if my son is a pain sometimes, I hope you get used to it.”

“Father!” Ynnihlas looked mad at his father’s comments as he pouted.

I thought his father would be the serious type, but I was wrong. He was rather carefree, unlike his serious appearance.

The breakfast was served. It was simple eggs, tomatoes and cheese. Quite an ordinary breakfast, yet it was delicious.

After we were done eating Ynnihlas spoke with a grin as he looked at me, “Did you like the food, Leo?”

I just simply nodded.

“Tsk.”

Ynnihlas clicked his tongue, probably because he didn’t get a whole confession of me, even after all he’s been through …he is still very childish..

Frenhil was the first to stand up, but before he left he said something.

“I hear there will be an auction tonight in why don’t you two take a look?”

I was clueless about what this ‘Paramisia’ is and didn’t speak and let Ynnihlas talk.

“I didn’t know it was tonight.. Do you want to go Leo?”

He looked at me.

Since I had nothing to do I agreed.

“Why not?”

Ynnihlas smiled, “Okay, but the auction doesn’t start until 11:00 PM, so we still have time. Make sure you take something good to wear from my clothes.”

“Okay..”

By the time me and Ynnihlas finished the conversation, his father had already left.

I didn’t even sense him leave..

The night came, and I spent it doing mostly nothing, Ynnihlas gave me some of his clothes to try.

After trying them on I just chose a black noble looking.

At the moment I was wearing leather shoes on my feet. Black pants with a leather belt holding them in place and black shirt followed by a black furred black overcoat.

After time came to go to the auction, we left with a carriage. Apparently the auction house only accepted nobility as the bidders and didn’t allow commoners, and if they did allow them, it would mean they were invited or were with a noble.

Not long after, we arrived before a large building, purple lights were allover the building, giving a magnificent glow to it.

At the entrance there was a red carpet, where all kinds of people were walking, all of them were wearing luxurious clothes.

The carriage at some point stopped and we stepped out.

As soon as we did, a lot of eyes were looking towards us, especially ladies.

Me and Ynnihlas were indeed beyond handsome men, with me taking the crown of course, I wasn’t only handsome, my blood-red eyes made me devilishly handsome after all my other features compare. So in the end I can’t blame the ladies for falling for me.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

Ynnihlas was also drawing a lot of eyes. He took a long time to pick clothes and in the end he came up with a white and blue combination, which went well with his blonde hair and blue eyes.

There were murmurs from the people there, I was too lazy to hear what they were saying so I turned to Ynnihlas.

“This seems more like a showing off party than an auction.”

Ynnihlas chuckled, “Nobles tend to make everything a competition, and it seems we are the clear winners.”

“Indeed we are.” I joined the statement.

As we were lavishing in our narcissistic thoughts, somebody else came.

“Well Well, I didn’t take you for a demon liker Ynnihlas.”

I looked towards where the rather arrogant voice came.

A red head with an above average face.. Around level 17..

I didn’t say anything and instead let Ynnihlas deal with the brat.

“Aren’t you tired of picking your nose? Airen..” Ynnihlas asked with an annoyed tone.

The red head, Airen scoffed.

“I was just asking a question, but it seems you are trying to change the topic. Are you hiding something?”

Ynnihlas just sighed, “And what’s there to hide?”

The red head just tapped his chin with a finger as he made a pondering look and then as if an idea came up , he spoke, “Like bringing dressed demon slaves with you..”

Slave?

If I don’t teach him a lesson, I won’t call myself a demon anymore.

I went towards him with light steps, my boots made a sound each step.

He raised an eyebrow arrogantly as he watched me get closer.

“What? Are you going to act without you owner’s permission? Slave?”

I just slapped him with a backhand.

*Paw*

I didn’t use much force, he didn’t move much from his spot, but I made sure it stung by making my hand a bit colder.

He held his left cheek in pain, “How dare you hit me!”

His voice was rather loud, so everyone heard and had their eyes towards us.

After a deathly silence I finally spoke.

“You should be careful of who you call a slave, trash.”

He was shocked as he spoke.

“Y-You! Do you know who I am, m-my father is a Marquis, I can have your head for laying a hand on me.”

“You sure like to forget my family name don’t you Airen.” This time it was Ynnihlas who spoke.

The red head brat just grit his teeth and left while muttering some words.

“Just you wait.”

Everyone around went to chatting between themselves as if nothing happened.

“Shall we enter.” Ynnihlas looked excited

“I’m already tired…”

But sure enough he started walking through the red carpet as if he didn’t hear me. Having no other choice I followed. Right before the entrance were two

guards, Ynnihlas just showed them a card and we were allowed through. Inside two girls welcomed us, “follow us to the vip room, young lords.”

“Vip?” I looked at Ynnihlas for an answer.

“From Count and upper ranks, they will get a vip room.”

I understood. The higher your position, the more lavish your stay is going to be.

We followed the two girls and we were led to a luxurious room. Foods of all kinds in various tables could be seen.

There were also red couches in the middle of the room and in front of the couches was a huge window, beyond the window was a big stage.

We were on a higher floor level, so I had to look down to see the stage and the row seats.

I assumed the glasses made it so you can only see one way.

It appeared that the auction hadn’t started yet. I could see people started to sit on the row seats, and soon the seats were filled.

Me and Ynnihlas were already sitting on the couch, we both had our knees crossed, he appeared to look into the rows down, while I just tossed fruits on my mouth free of worry.

“The auction will start in Ten minutes!”

A countdown appeared on the stage.

09:58

09:57

“Another ten minutes….”

I sighed. I‘ve always hated waiting. Thankfully I had food.

“The auction will start now!”

The voice sounded once again, I was chewing a green apple.

“Finally.” I was curious about the things that are going to be auctioned.

A young woman appeared on the stage. She had long red hair that reached below her waist, a sharp gaze came from orange colored eyes. Her proportions were definitely above average. Overall, she was the kind of woman who gets you excited. She spoke with a clear tone.

“Welcome to the Paramisia Auction. I’m sure most of you know the rules, if you want to bid speak with a clear voice. Now let’s start with the first item of the night. It’s a piece of antique found in the Peru Waterfall.”

She clapped her hands and two people proceeded to come to the stage carrying a …flute.

The hot woman proceeded to explain the details of the flute and people started bidding one by one.

I wasn’t interested in a flute..

The flute was sold for a thousand gold coins. Which surprised me a bit. The nobles went as far as purchasing a useless item just so they can flaunt their wealth.

How petty..

The next item was a Mid-Grade bow, which was sold for 1500 gold coins.

However the next item surprised me a bit, I say only surprise because I had my predictions on the topic.

Skill cards..

At first I thought only the Snake Devouring Ring could make them. But it turns out these skill cards can be dropped by monster. Not only monsters but also humans, demons, elves you name it.

And the only reason I know these things right now is because I made Ynnihlas explain it to me.

After hearing his explanation, I focused my attention on the woman.

“The skill card, when integrated gives you the ability Blitz. A lighting spell that summons a chains of lighting and pierces the opponent with its pointy tip. Starting price is 6000 gold coins, can only be increased by a 100 gold coins. Let the bidding begin.”

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone started bidding. For the first time since the auction started someone from another vip room bid. It was a male voice.

12.000 gold coins. Another womanly voice came from another vip room.

I started to get excited.

I had tons of money, so not joining in the fun would be a waste.

”17.000 gold coins!” I spoke with a clear tone.

”18.000..”

“20.000….”

”25.000……”

”40.000..” I spoke once again, but this time silence met the entire auction’s halls.

Only Vip members were on the bid right now.

“Going once, going twice. Sold to Vip Room number 7.” Spoke the woman, announcing that I had won the bid.

“Why are you wasting so much money on a skill card? Where did you get so much money anyway?”

Ynnihlas on my left side was shocked as he looked at me.

“Someone gave it to me.” I just causally replied, which left him without words.

The next moment, a person came into the room with a box.

He was wearing an outfit similar to those of butlers.

He put the box on the table and spoke,

“Here’s your item, your excellency. Do you wish to pay now, or will you wait until the end?”

“I’ll pay in the end.” I said and the butler left.

I opened the box, and a black card revealed itself to me.

It was exactly like the previous ones I had seen. I might have been to hasty buying this, but my curiosity got the better of me.

I don’t have a lighting affinity, so I didn’t exactly know if I could learn the spell. So I turned towards a person who might know.

“Just a quick question, can I learn a lighting related skill if I don’t have a lighting affinity?”

Ynnihlas just looked at me weirdly and then sighed,

“Yes, however a person who has the lighting affinity will have increased potency when he acquires a lighting related skill.”

I was glad to find out that I could integrate the skill. But I didn’t know if this skill was considered good or not.

“So is this skill considered good?” Once again I asked away.

“It’s a very good skill. It probably came from a creature that had already surpassed the 100th level. But not many people would use a skill like that due to the mana required to use it. If it’s somebody higher than Level 80 they would be able to use it with no problem, but most who have surpassed level 80 already have found their own way of advancing and won’t purchase skills that are out of their affinity or don’t match with their class.”

I heard his explanation with an open mind, but then he chuckled, for reasons unknown to me.

“I was surprised she let you get away with that though.”

His words made me curious, “who?”

He smiled, “The Third Princess….”
