Ynnihlas POV
“So tell me exactly what happened, don’t miss any information.”
I calmed down.
“We were following those two adventurers. The adventurers seemed to have left the forest and were heading here, in Silesia. But as they were heading towards here, the demon stopped them midway. He appeared out of nowhere and then they started fighting.”
“As we said earlier, the demon just overpowered the two of them, and i-in the end he f-froze them.”
I raised an eyebrow, “What do you mean?”
“Seconds after he touched them, they turned into ice statues.”
Ice…?
“Did he leave them like that?” I asked.
The two shook their head.
“No, just after turning them into ice statues, t-they were destroyed into little crystals and were swayed by the wind.”
Hearing this, I massaged my temple. Turning them to statues by touch.. I can’t think of an ice spell that could do that.
I sighed in frustration. “Good job. But since the demon is very near, stay around the gate entrance, he might be coming any day now.”
If he already hasn’t.

At this time, Leonidas was already in Silesia, pranking Claus on a whim.

The next day I was informed that a horde of lizards was coming towards the city. It wasn’t exactly a city threat but I chose to sent the two to investigate just incase there was something we missed.
And it turned out there was a monster boss leading the horde
There were 30 people dispatched by the
“Young lord, after the guildmembers that were taking the quest of annihilating the horde caught sight of the monster boss which in this case was a Lizard Boss, they immediately dispatched some to get help from the guild, but they were found dead in an alley.”
It was an interesting piece of information. Somebody was playing games from the shadows and I wanted to figure out who.
“Did you Identify the killers?”
“We can’t be sure, but we believe it was someone from the
The other one asked me, ”Should we notify the
“No. Let’s go and go and see what’s going on first.”
I was tired of waiting in the room and receive information. So I took the liberty of going myself. Seeing for yourself is better than hearing it from somebody else.
That’s one of the lessons my father taught me when I was younger.
You can always trust your eyes more than the ears and mouths of others. It’s obvious but many tend to not follow the obvious. Arrogance, pride, and missjudgment.
The traits that most mediocre nobles have. To not become like that I was especially trained. A tiring journey might I say. I had already gone through that in my past timeline, and I had to go through all of that once again in this timeline.
Quitting my off the topic thoughts, I looked at my bodyguards.
“What are we waiting for? Let’s go.”
They looked at me awkwardly.
“Aren’t you going to enter the carriage?”
I sighed, “You guys are trained and all, but do you really think of me as a prideful brat who doesn’t want to dirty my shoes? Also FYI, we are going to spy on the situation. Going around with a giant carriage would defeat the point, wouldn’t it?”
They were speechless.
“You’re right young Lord, forgive our incompetence.”
“It’s fine, let’s go. Lead the way.”
We were at the center of the city right now, It would take sometime to reach our destination.
After an hour of walking and running we reached our destination.
The land before us was rather bland. Rocks and a flat land covered with ancient dust.
Thirty or so humans were on the highground just in front of the flat land.
“My lord, are you sure you’re not going to fall down?”
The reason of such a weird question being asked is because I was on top of a tree with binoculars in my hand. Looking exactly 300 meters away.
“I’ll be fine.” I grunted.
I sat there for an hour, but to no avail. The adventurers were like sitting ducks probably hoping somebody will come. Poor them.
Until somebody else actually came.

I focused on the newcomer and my heart thumped.
The newcomer had black pointy horns sprouting from his head. He had a black-furred coat reaching the middle of his back.
White hair… It was probably him.
The one who is capable of saving my dear sister. I focused more than ever and followed every move of his.
He seemed to be talking to the adventurers. I couldn’t lip read so I didn’t understand anything they said.
“Young lord! The horde of lizards are coming. A-and the Lizard Boss is also with them.” Said one of the bodyguards while also looking through binoculars in his hand.
“What?” I focused my binoculars toward where he was pointing and saw the horde. After I confirmed what I was seeing I changed my direction and once again my eyes landed at the adventurers, who started putting on a formation and were ready for battle.
At first I believed the situation wasn’t that bad. But when I looked at the the situation I immediately understood that the situation was serious. If the horde of lizards bypasses the demon. The guildmembers would be left to be ruthlessly butchered and a lot of people in the city would die. Their deaths would be in my hands, afterall— I’m the one who chose not to share information.
I looked at one of my bodyguards and put a serious expression on my face.
“Remis, I want you to go and warn the city about what’s happening, now.”
Remis was surprised, but he knew I was serious, I didn’t say their names out loud unless I’m serious.
I looked at the other one and gave another command.
“Murio, You stay here with me, if any lizard comes this way slay it.”
“Yes, young lord” both of them nodded. Remis left, while Murio resumed to get in a defensive position with a spear on his hands.
Once again I put the binoculars in my eyes and focused on the battle that’s about to begin. Especially the demon’s movement.
As the horde got closer, the demon made his first movement.
He jumped down from the highground and ran towards the horde.
“What’s he doing?” I was confused.
‘Don’t tell me he wants to go by himself’
I felt goosebumps. Seeing his craziness in person is a lot more different than reading through a journal.
I watched as the demon ran forward.
I looked at the horde and saw the Lizard Boss releasing its aura.
I felt disgusted. I wanted to puke my inwards out.
“Such a vile aura!” Murio muttered in shock.
I looked at him for a moment and asked, “Do you think you could beat it?”
Murio narrowed his eyes.
“If I fight that monster, I would be able to injure it, but I’ll have to die to do so.”
I felt my world shake. Murio was level 55 with a special class. Yet he couldn’t defeat the Lizard Boss.
Suddenly another aura appeared on the battlefield.
“This demon you’re so curious about is also a monster. Young lord!”
I gulped. “Yea..”
☆ ☆ ☆
Both auras crashed with each-other. The Red-Scaled Lizard Boss screeched and the other lizards split in two groups and changed directions to left and right. Making way for the two monsters to battle it away.
Suddenly black ice spears appeared around the demon as he ran towards the lizard.
In a split second, the lizard accelerated and slashed towards the demon which luckily was able to dodge in the last second.
The demon shot the Ice spears, but they didn’t manage to land a single hit.
Both entered close combat. I didn’t know how, but once again Ice appeared on the demon’s hand, only this time it was a sword.
As they fought, I could tell the demon wasn’t used to swords, but as they battled, he was getting the hang of it. The longsword was coated with mana.
The demon couldn’t get the advantage, but the mana around the longsword changed from blue to white.
Once again, he slashed towards the lizard. The Lizard while in close combat, opened its mouth and flames came out, shooting towards the demon at point-blank range.

I panicked at the thought of the demon dying. Luckily a golden barrier surrounded him and he was able to survive the attack without a scratch.
“It seems he has some high-grade artifact, young lord.” It was Murio who voiced out.
“It seems so.” I sighed in relief and continued to observe the battle.
The lizard once again used the same attack, but this time around the demon dodged and used an attack of his own.
A magic missile shot towards the red lizard who couldn’t completely defend. The missile shot its shoulder and ice appeared on the wound.
“Have you ever seen a missile that’s white?” I asked Murio.
“I’m afraid not.” He replied.
The battle continued and the demon summoned another sword after his previous one broke and another round started.
However another shocking event happened. The red lizard’s shoulder was healed and the ice was gone.
“With such potent regeneration, I’m afraid the demon is going to have a tough time. The other lizards have already gone in another direction, so you’re safe young lord. If you want, I can go and help him, even though limited, I’m sure the chances of winning will be higher.”
I was surprised at Murio’s boldness. He was suggesting that he stops protecting me and go help the demon, but he probably understood that the health of the demon was important to me, otherwise he wouldn’t have suggested such a bizarre idea.
However I still denied, “No need.”
He understood my decision and we both focused our attention on the battle ahead.
◇ ◇ ◇
The demon let go of his sword and claws made of mana shaped around his hands.
Another round of fighting began. Both had wounds on their body.
But both were regenerating however the lizard had slightly faster regeneration.
The Lizard’s claws were covered in fire while the demon had ice in his claws which emitted white mana.
The Red lizard had a slight advantage in physical terms.
The demon stepped back up and placed his hands on the ground.
Suddenly Ice emerged from the underground engulfing the Lizard.
I could see the demon panting as he sat down in a lotus position.
“He is siting…” It was absurd.
“His mana is limited, sometimes attacking is not the best move, young lord.” Murio said with a thoughtful expression.
“How much mana do you think he can recover before the lizard manages to break out?” I asked curiously.
“I don’t know young lord.”
I looked through the binoculars and noticed he had something in his hands.
“High-grade potions..” I muttered in disbelief.
High-grade potions could only be concocted by a potion master. Yet he was chugging a few of them like they were nothing.
After he drank some of them, he continued to stay in that position.
“And now he is meditating…” I had no words. The nerve to meditate when the enemy is in front of you is really admirable.
“A warrior’s spirit is rare in such youngsters.” Murio agreed with me.
Five minutes later the black ice started to crack. A screech could be heard as the Ice completely shattered.
The demon realized this and sat up immediately.
They fought for another 30 minutes.
Their bodies consisted of wounds, scratches, scars and blood. The demon could no longer regenerate while the lizard’s regeneration has slowed down massively.
The demon started to run in circle around the lizard. As we watched the scene unfold we were confused. The Lizard was swaying his arms left and right, apparently slashing the air.
“What is going on?”
“It’s threads.” Murio narrowed his eyes and continued, “He is using threads to try to trap the lizard, but the lizard’s sharp claws that are slightly emitting fire are a deadly counterattack.
“Isn’t it pointless to do that then?” I was confused, but I didn’t miss a single moment of the battle.
The demon continued the same pattern, however this time as the Lizard slashed left and right he had some difficulties.
Without waiting for me to ask him, Murio spoke, “It seems he is coating the threads with Ice mana, I can see the threads glow a bit.
Murio had much better eyesight than me, I’m lucky he’s here otherwise I would be confused more than I already am.
I felt that the end of the battle is here so I put all of my focus in the fight.
The lizard started screeching and opened its mouth once again releasing flames towards the demon.
Unexpectedly the demon also moved his hand forward and a fireball formed. He released the fireball and it crashed with the lizard’s flames.
The lizard’s flames continued to head towards the demon, but they were stopped once again by a golden barrier.
Weirdly enough the demon made another fireball and slammed it to his stomach. After he did so, he fell on the ground.
“What is he doing ?” My eyes were widened. “Quick Murio, let’s save him.
“Just wait young lord.”
I looked at Murio with a furious expression, “what does that mean?”
He looked at me and said calmly, “At our point of view we can see everything, but it’s not the same for the lizard. When the fires crashed, it created a smoke screen of dust between the two. That demon is probably trying to trick it letting it think that he’s dead.”
I widened my eyes in realization. “Isn’t that a big risk?”
In response, Murio nodded, “That’s true, if he doesn’t have a way of stopping his hearbeat, the lizard will notice.”
I sighed at my shortsightedness
I looked at the scene. The smokescreen was totally gone. The lizard was looking at the demon and carefully went near him. After a few seconds, it was standing on top of the demon. I closed one of my eyes in anxiousness.
“Please don’t die.”
