Fire vs Ice [2]

After the fires clashed, creating a smokescreen, I used [ Passive - Barrier ]. But even after I had already received the red lizard’s attack, I fell to the ground and pretended to be dead.
To make it even more believable that I had died. I temporarily froze my heart, so my heartbeat can be barely heard, I controlled the temperature to be the same as always with some difficulty. But I still did it.
I laid on the ground with my eyes closed. I knew the red lizard was still there, and I was pretty sure that the smokescreen is already gone. It still hadn’t attacked me, so I guess that was a good thing.
I continued to do so for 10 more seconds, until I heard it move, it wasn’t going on my direction though. It was going towards Silesia.
My plan worked, now all I need to do is sneakily kill it. I didn’t get up until I felt the red lizard was far enough. After I got up I looked ahead towards Silesia, and I saw that the red lizard wasn’t really running, it was walking casually as it just won an important battle.
Cocky bastard.
I started going towards him with the lightest steps possible. When it made a step, I made three.
Like this I was able to catch up to it. I was only 6 meters (19ft) away from him.
I didn’t even make the slightest noise, every time it stepped I did, so even if I made a little bit of sound, it would think, its because of itself.
When I though I was close enough, I jumped at him, using [ Enhanced ], and at the last moment I used [ Mana Claws ] and made them as long as I could.
I was right behind him, The moment I used [ Mana Claws ] it turned its head in surprise.
“Hehehe, die motherfucker.” I said as I slashed my long mana claws at its neck.
What?
It dodged the claws at its neck and instead I cut his leg. It directly counterattacked me with a point-black fire breath.
I coated my arms with as much mana I could and crossed them before my chest. When the fire made impact with me, I could feel my skin burning, thankfully the fire didn’t explode on contact or otherwise my arms would have been annihilated.
I looked at the lizard in anger, but when I saw its state I felt relieved. It was only left with two legs and sharp teeth. Now that I look at the [ Dragon-Blood Lizard ], I see that its physique is similar to that of a t-rex just with longer arms, which I just cut right now. Not as big as a t-rex, only around 7ft (2.1m), but the lizard’s height was manageable.
Right now the red lizard was bleeding terribly, thankfully its arms weren’t growing up or I would have been pissed.
Not giving it much time to recuperate, I accelerated towards it. I still had [ Mana Claws ] activated. The lizard couldn’t dodge me at all, not only was it only in two legs, it was heavily bleeding. I made an uppercut clash towards its chin, barely reaching it because it tried to dodge. But I still caught it and drove my claws made of mana on its neck.
Instantly killing it.

I whistled when I saw the level ups. It was definitely a hard battle, I am feeling fatigued all over my body, I-I.

I closed my eyes and I felt drawn into a dream.
“Another Lucid dream?” I was confused.
I found myself standing on top of a mountain full of corpses. I looked up, seeing the sky turn from bright blue to purple.
After that eyes appeared on the clouds. The eyes were like they were colored by the galaxy itself.
From a pair of eyes, to ten, to twenty. Until the whole sky was filled with giant eyes. Red, black, purple and colors I could imagine.
Suddenly a voice entered my ears, No! More like thousands of voices saying the same things.

The voices got so loud they started giving me a tremendous headache, which jolted me awake.
*Huff * *Huff *
I panted crazily as I looked around. I didn’t know how much time had passed. Sweat was filling the ground around me.
“What was that?” I asked myself, what I saw was just simply unbelievable.
“Those existences, just who the hell are they?” I could help but gulp, I felt like I was just a mere ant in those eyes. An ant who is meant to do what they are told.
I knew I had to get even stronger. I need to be ready to face them, whoever they are.
I shook my head as I reminded myself. I swore to myself that I will reach the peak, those existences won’t change my vision. Not even the slightest.
Unknowingly, I grinned. I was exited. More so than ever. My heart was beating fast as I remembered that lucid dream. Was it even a lucid dream?, definitely not. I don’t know why is this happening to me, but I don’t care. I just know that I will have to get a lot more stronger.
I stood up, clenching my stomach. I looked and saw that the [ Dragon-Blood Lizard ] was on the ground dead.
I quickly placed it inside the [ Dimensional Storage ] and went towards the city. Right now I was directly at the borders, all there is is rocks and felt like untapped land.
I didn’t know if the adventurers had dealt with the other [ Mutated Lizards ], but whether they had died or won, it should have happened an hour ago. I still had no idea how much time has passed since I fell unconscious, but it shouldn’t have been more that half an hour.
I started walking while clenching my stomach. Only around 30 % of my mana had recovered, and I used it little by little to recover by using [ Lesser Gluttonous Regeneration ].
Three minutes later, I arrived at the site of the disaster. Blood was covering the ground all around. The corpses were only in half, there was also plenty of lizard corpses.
But it seems the adventurers had lost this battle. I sighed.
I didn’t know if it was the Silver Tigers who interfered with the information of the situation, but they are not going to get away with messing with me.
I decided to leave the scene and headed towards the guild. I killed the Lizard Boss, but I don’t know if it counts as quest completed. It’s not like I cared if I completed it or not. The rewards were either silver or gold. Something I didn’t need. I only accepted this quest because I was bored and wanted to level up.
My clothes were ragged and a lot of blood covered me. When I walked to the city, I noticed the gazes of the people. Some were looking at me with disgust and others with admiration. I didn’t exactly know why, but I had some ideas.
I finally arrived at the guild and entered it. Unlike the last times, this time the guild inside was full of people, some taking quests and some receiving rewards for completion of a quest.
I looked over and saw Beatrix, she was very busy with the others so I chose to not head over. But suddenly I heard someone shout.
“Hey! He’s the one who dealt with that Lizard Boss!”
Suddenly everyone looked at me. I spread my arms.
“What? You haven’t seen someone as handsome as me before?”
I smiled. Then an angry voice came towards me.
“It’s your fault adventurers died. If you helped them deal with the mutated lizards, you could have killed their boss together. Your just a greedy person.”
Greedy? That I am..
“And ? So what? I dealt with a monster nobody in this little city would have the guts to face, I don’t really care, I am a demon, your a human, those adventures weren’t my friends, neither are you, so I suggest you get out of my face before your head falls off.” I said all of this with a smile plastered on my face. Mere sheep’s opinion is none of my concern.
“You! I knew we shouldn’t have trusted demons” The angry man wanted to get closer to me, but he was pulled back by his teammates.
“Nice choice!”
My nerves were getting to me so I headed towards Beatrix. All made way for me, some looked at me in anger and some with fear. I didn’t pay any heed to that and said to Beatrix.
“How much do I gain if I show you the corpse of the Lizard Boss?”
Beatrix was also showing signs of fear when looking at me. Slowly she spoke while slightly stuttering.
“T-The quest would b-be considered complete, and you will gain a g-gold coin, but if you decide to sell t-the monster, the guild c-can give you 5 gold coins.”
Worthless. I didn’t know how much information they had about the Lizard Boss. But a lizard with Dragon Blood can give a man rains of gold. Dragons are rare creatures no matter how dangerous the world is.
But since I stopped one such creature, I might as well get rewarded for it no matter how little, afterall they owe me big.
I took the [ Dragon-Blood Lizard ] out of my [ Dimensional Storage ] and asked.
“Are you sure you’re only going to give me that much after killing such a creature.”
Everyone in the guild looked at the red-scaled lizard in shock.
“Level 58!”
“A-a dragon blood breed”
“What a monster”
They all looked at me in fear as after they saw its wounds. The monster still leaked an aura that made some shiver.
Dragons are dragons through and through, no matter how little of their blood is present in other creatures.
Beatrix quickly got out of the shocked state.
“I-I don’t think we have the money to buy the corpse, and we can only g-give you 10 gold coins for saving the city. I’m sorry!” She bowed.
“Alright then”
She proceeded to give me the gold. The people around me looked at me like I was a fat sheep, yet they couldn’t attack because I was a wolf in reality.
A wolf they won’t be able to even touch.
