Nemo raised an eyebrow at Dawn's question, he knew that Dawn wasn't a social person, he rarely talked with others or took the initiative himself.
Although a little surprised he answered Dawn's question with a smile," nothing just thinking about friends and family back home," cadets weren't allowed to talk to the outside world. So as a result of that some of them grew homesick.
Hearing Nemo answer, Dawn fell deep into thought,"family," Dawn muttered in barely audible voice. Dawn didn't miss his family from his past life, he wasn't really attached to anyone, Dawn only felt grateful toward his family for all the things that they have done for him, especially his father. Although he didn't like his old man, he wanted to do something for him that can make him proud of his son as repayment.
Sadly he wasn't able to achieve anything that could make his father proud.
Nemo looked at Dawn who was deep in thought with a look of mecholony on his face, Nemo didn't speak further, he also became lost in his memory of his family, remembering the shenanigans of his Little sister with a small smile on his lips.
Dawn shook his head and closed his eyes, he cleared his head of useless thoughts, it was better to let go of the past, Dawn slowly got up and started moving the empty room in the building to rest.
Nemo didn't look at him and was lost in his own thoughts.
He walked up to the gate of the room and registered the room under his name, his name appeared on the gate. Signalling from now on this room was his, the gate opened automatically, he walked inside and looked at the interior of the room, he was satisfied.
There were only three things in the room, a single comfy looking bed with a study table beside it and locker to keep his things.
Dawn removed his clothes and felt relaxed all of a sudden, without wasting any time he jumped toward his bed and closed his eyes to sleep. After 5 mins of twisting and turning from one side to another on the bed he wasn't able to fall asleep. Dawn thought about his family in this world, everytime he tried to think about them his head would start thinking, similar thinking also happened this time, he grabbed his head in pain. There seemed to be a hole in his memories, after trying to remember several times he didn't get any result, he fell asleep.
Dawn woke up the next morning at 6 a.m, he got up from his bed and drank a glass of water. After 15 min he freshened up, changed his clothes, wore a military uniform of the River Empire and headed out of his room.
Walking outside the building he was greeted by the sight of Nemo and Ellora cooking food while wearing aprons, Dawn wondered where they found it. Lucy was also helping them, surprising Dawn a little.

Ellora noticed Dawn's arrival, she smiled charmingly at his direction and said," Good morning Dawn," her smiling was enough to capture the heart of any young man, but not Dawn's.
Dawn returned the greeting with a small smile at the corner of his lips," I didn't know Ellora you could cook."
A small laugh escaped Ellora's lips, she looked at him in amusement and said," it is really not surprising that you didn't know about it."
Dawn was embarrassed for asking stupid questions and spoke hurriedly to change the topic," can I be of any help," Dawn asked if she wanted his help, although in reality he didn't want to help but he couldn't just sit there lazing around when all of them were working.
After hearing Dawn's offer for help, Ellora smiled broadly, she said," great, please arrange the plates on the table."
Dawn wordlessly moved in the direction of the table and started doing his thing, in 5 min he was done, Dawn grabbed a chair and sat down.
Dawn looked at everyone working, and thought about his next step, at that time Ajanta came back from his patrol.
As soon he came back, he started sniffing the air like a dog, as if he had found the the source of the smell in surrounding, suddenly his eyes shined with joy and he yelled at the top," sister is cooking food today," Ajanta's thought his sister was cooking something, just by thinking about it he started drooling.
Ajanta freshened up and sat beside Dawn, eagerly waiting for the food, after some time Nemo served the food to all five of them.
Currently everyone was sitting on the table eyeing the food greedily, Ajanta with his sheer willpower alone stopped himself from directly jumping into the food and finished it in one go. But he resisted the urge and waited for his sister to speak as she always liked to do whenever she cooked back home.
Ellora looked at everyone and spoke," today I have cooked the traditional dish of my hometown with help of Nemo, I hope everyone will enjoy it," she smiled after speaking.
After 5 min Dawn and the others were done with the food, Ajanta was rubbing his happily with a smile of satisfaction plastered on his face, sitting opposite to Ajanta, Nemo couldn't believe it, he never thought that this arrogant prick could behave like this.
Lucy goodheart too looked happy, suddenly Ajanta eyes turned serious, he sat up straight and spoke with a deep voice," there seems be something fishy going on here, during my patrol I didn't encounter a single monster, as if all of them had suddenly disappeared."
Everyone listened to his words seriously, Dawn frowned after listening to Ajanta's words, yesterday when he had gone to patrol all sorts of monsters were attacking him mindlessly. But now according to Ajanta all monsters have vanished.
Dawn gently tapped on the table to gather everyone attention, Dawn looked around to confirm that everyone's attention was on him then he said," contrary to what Ajanta had just said, I encountered numerous monsters yesterday, I would suggest everyone to be careful when going out on patrol.
Hearing Dawn words everyone fell into deep thought, something fishy was definitely going on but they just couldn't put their finger on it.
All of them were worried about their next patrol, Dawn looked in the direction of Lucy as it was her turn next to patrol, she didn't seem to be worried.
Dawn got up from his chair and walked back to his room. Once inside he sat in a meditative position on the floor. Dawn closed his eyes and started breathing slowly and glanced inside his own body, mana was flowing through his veins like a raging river, mixed with blood.
He looked at his heart slowly pumping all this mana around and wondered how it was holding on. His heart was slowly evolving just like his body to embrace mana.
Dawn started exerting his will onto mana and willed it to move out of his body a little, but it didn't budge. Dawn had an annoyed expression on his face, he thought, "What is the point of having so much mana if I can't use it?"
Dawn circulated the Starfall technique and mana started moving on its own and started gathering on his palm, making it glow with dark light.
Dawn couldn't understand why he was unable to move mana when he tried but when he used the technique it moved on its own.
Dawn sat in a meditative position for hours before slowly giving up, dawn grew tired and fell asleep.
Days passed just like that, with Dawn trying to move mana according to his will, 2 days later it was again Dawn turn to patrol.
