Before Kit could work himself up into pure panic mode, Bai yue returned with one of the pastel blue pigs trotting behind. Snowball let out a happy yip, Kit’s brow went up when he realised Snowball wasn’t growling at the creature like last time.
Although Snowball looked like he wasn’t going to react badly to the little pigs, Kit’s muscles were still tense. He still remembered the leopards that had been frozen to death by the tiny creatures. A shiver of fear ran down his spine.
Kit watched as the pastel blue teacup pig and Bai yue came to a stop in front of him. “Friend Kit, this is Hue.” Bai yue pointed a white paw at the blue pig. Kit nervously sucked in a breath then greeted the pig.
“Hello Hue, I am Kit and this is Snowball.” The tiny blue pig let out a delighted squeal and suddenly dashed at Snowball, completely ignoring Kit. He watched as the tiny pig started to dance happily around Snowball letting out soft grunts as it tried to entice Snowball to play.
Kit’s jaw dropped. What the hell was happening! Out of all the scenarios that had gone through his head on how this negotiation would play out, this scene had never entered his mind. As Kit stared dumbly at the pair of animals happily greeting each other Bai yue spoke to Kit.
“Friend Kit, the Piabbits are quite intelligent and can understand your speech. You can just ask it directly your questions.” Although Bai yue said they were intelligent, the cat still threw the blue pig a disgusted look.
Then Kit realised Bai yue had said intelligent, not friendly. Kit felt his knees go weak at having to converse with the scary teacup pig.
“Ah Hue, can I ask you why you are here instead of at the cave where we originally met?” The little Piabbit paid no attention to Kit whatsoever and continued to squeal at Snowball. He turned helpless eyes to Bai yue, how was he going to negotiate if the other party acted as if he didn’t exist?
Bai yue let out a heavy sigh. “Snowball tell that annoying creature to listen to Kit please. I want to go home sooner rather than later.” Snowball turned to Kit blinked his big round eyes then yipped at the Piabbit.
Finally, Kit had the attention of the small pig and asked his question once again. A series of noises left Hue’s mouth as if replying to Kit’s question. He stood there frozen waiting for the little pig to finish.
Bai yue let out a lazy yawn and when the pig finally stopped, he wrinkled his nose then spoke. “To sum all that up, the hoarder of precious things has entranced the Piabbits, and they decided to move their home to Spartan Fire. Because you are Snowball’s companion, they decided to claim the unused portion of your land.”
Kit felt his eye twitch. Fuck, Snowball cuteness had struck again! His damn companion was really collecting creatures! Kit wanted to wipe the cuteness overload skill from Snowball’s stats, then he wouldn’t have these problems crop up!
Thanks to Snowball he had no clue how many of the Piabbits were currently running around on his land! A headache started to develop behind his eyes, he rubbed his temples to help alleviate the pain.
Kit’s anger momentarily overcame his common sense. “Hue I’m sorry but you can’t stay here. I run a business on that land and lots of strangers will come and go on it all day. I can’t have you attacking any of them.”
A frosted snort left Hue’s nose and his hide started to glow. Kit took an involuntary step backwards and realised his mistake. Before he could turn tail and run Snowball let out a growl. To Kit’s utter amazement Hue wilted right in front of his eyes at Snowball’s reprimand.
The tiny Piabbit drooped his head and covered his eyes with his floppy ears. The corner of Kit’s mouth twitched from holding back a smile at the adorable actions of the Piabbit. All his fear was forgotten at the little pig’s actions.
Kit felt his heart being swayed to let the little pig stay. Ahh, why was he so soft hearted when it came to cute creatures!
The Piabbit lifted one ear revealing one of it’s eyes, it stared at Snowball tentatively. When Snowball no longer growled it started to make small noises once again. Bai yue snorted and rolled his eyes.
Kit wanted to laugh at the sphinx’s actions but held himself back, he still needed the cat to help with the negotiations. He thought if he laughed at the white cat it might become offended.
He raised and enquiring brow at the sphinx instead. “The little blue demon is saying that he will not cause any trouble.”
A snort of his own almost sounded. He didn’t believe a word that the Piabbit was saying, it’s actions moments ago said it all as far as Kit was concerned. Although he was almost caught in the cuteness trap of the adorable creature, he wasn’t silly, his restaurant came first!
Kit looked at the small Piabbit, then thought about it’s reaction to Snowball. A crazy idea popped into his head. “Hue it might be possible for you to stay, but there are conditions.” The little pig swung its head towards Kit and perked up an ear.

The cute action caused Kit to pause, he really wanted to squeeze a hug from the little animal! He calmed himself down with the thought of becoming frozen to death before he did something he would regret.
Now that he had the full attention of the Piabbit, Kit decided it was time to negotiate properly. He glanced down at his ace in the sleeve and bent down to give the fluff ball a pat. “If you sign a contract stating that you will not interfere with the running of my business and will protect the safety of all employees of the restaurant then you can stay.”
Kit glanced over to the lush greenery surrounding his restaurant then decided to tack on one more demand. Since they left the Twisted tunnels, Kit had been regretful that they hadn’t even snagged a single chicken before they left.
Now he had a chance to get those arrogant chickens! “I also require the collection of ingredients for my restaurant from the your environment. This includes the chickens that you have brought with you.” He didn’t know if the Piabbits would be offended if he killed the chickens, so he especially made sure to say the chickens just then to see what the reaction would be.
A nervous tension spread as he waited for the reply. Kit’s hands started to twitch wanting to go and grab one of the white birds straight away.
Recipes started to swirl in his mind, he became lost in his thoughts until he felt a chill in the air. His eyes automatically swept to the creature that could cause such a dramatic change in the environment.
A swirl of frost was surrounding the Piabbit. Kit guessed that Hue wasn’t impressed with his idea. Snowball came to his rescue once again with a soft growl, the frost disappeared in the blink of his eyes.
Kit felt his legs almost give out, that frost was super scary! He sucked in a deep breath, fear would not get him anywhere. He decided he needed to be bold to get this negotiation over. The Piabbits obviously loved Snowball so he was going to use this to get what he wanted.
“If you don’t like it, then you can all leave!” Kit swept Snowball up into his arms with trembling hands, then started to walk off in a show of defiance. Snowball happily sat in his arms and nuzzled against his neck as if going along with his performance.
It only took a few steps from Kit for the Piabbit to react. It quickly dashed in front of Kit blocking his path. Soft squeals left it’s tiny mouth. Kit turned his head back to Bai yue for interpretation. “It’s asking you to wait. It will go and talk with the other Piabbits.”
Kit held back a grin and arranged his face into a fierce stare, if the Piabbit had looked closely at him it would have noticed his shaking limbs. “Be quick, I have other things to do!” He held his breath hoping that he hadn’t gone too far.
When he saw Hue scurry off, he let out a delighted laugh then almost collapsed from the fear coursing through his body.
Bai yue tilted his head and examined Kit. “Friend Kit has improved in negotiating.” Kit was momentarily shocked at the compliment from the sphinx. The unexpected praise made his mood soar.
The wait for the Piabbit to return didn’t take long. When Hue returned, a trail of Piabbits accompanied him. Kit couldn’t help a shudder roll down his spine from the sight of so many of the tiny pastel blue pigs, he counted 16 in total.
All 16 pairs of eyes locked onto Snowball in his arms. Then a chorus of delighted squeals erupted from the gathering of tiny pigs. Kit winced at the noise and wanted to turn tail and run. Instead he straightened his back and thought about his restaurant.
“Snowball can you get them to quieten down?” Snowball complied with his request and let out a soft yip, the pigs settled down instantly.
Kit turned to Bai yue. “Have they agreed?” The white cat nodded his head in reply. As if Bai yue’s nod was the acceptance of the deal, golden threads shot towards the gathering of Piabbit’s. What made Kit surprised was the multiple golden threads that raced towards the tropical paradise on his land.
Did that mean more Piabbits where still in the tropical forest?
Ding!
[Piabbits]
Contract bind successful.
Piabbits will not interfere with the running of Snowball’s companion’s business and will protect the safety of all employees of the restaurant. Piabbits will allow collection of ingredients from their domain.
Piabbits will protect Snowball and his companion with their lives.
A smile broke out on Kit’s lips, the last sentence was a pleasant surprise. He was so happy with the outcome he couldn’t help planting a kiss on Snowball’s head. He then placed his companion on the ground. The Piabbits swarmed the small dog then herded him into the forest that now took over his land.
Now that he had a binding contract with the Piabbits, he no longer had the overwhelming fear towards them. He knew it would take him awhile to get used to the small pigs with out a flicker of fear spreading over his body each time he saw one. He consoled himself that soon it wouldn’t happen, they just had to get used to each other.
With Snowball being hijacked by the Piabbits, he guessed the fluff ball wouldn’t be accompanying him today. His gaze turn to the only other friendly face left, Bai yue noticed Kits attention then stood and bowed his head.
“Friend Kit I will take my leave. Before I go, I will give you some advice.” The weight of Bai yue gaze changed to a heavy feeling with the white sphinxes words.
“You do not have to accept every creature that Snowball will bring home. It is in his nature to attract creatures that will want to protect him. Some of the creatures will be more trouble than you can possibly imagine if you let them stay. Do you understand friend Kit?”
An ominous feeling settled on Kit’s shoulders. He nodded his head in understanding, he hoped the Piabbits were the last creatures to be entranced by Snowball. He really didn’t want to end up with a zoo!
As Bai yue started to walk off Kit realised he was the only one left. He then remembered that his employees were missing. “Bai yue.” He quickly caught the cat before it left. “Do you know where my employees are by any chance?”
“Ah, I seem to have forgot to pass on a message from the lovely Snickers. They are all at the cemetery. I apologise for the delay in communication.” Now that they had finished their discussion Kit let Bai yue go.
He then turned towards the town and frowned, it seemed he didn’t know where the cemetery was. As he was standing there contemplating what to do, he realised what Bai yue words meant. The others were at the cemetery! Then Spartan Fire could possibly be promoted today!
A thrill of excitement rushed through his veins. He looked around for the closest person, he saw a middle aged man with brown hair not far from him. He quickly dashed over hoping the man was a Spartan Fire resident and would be able to tell him where the cemetery might be.
He hit the jackpot! The man directed him to the forest north of Spartan Fire. The man heard the cemetery was being built next to the lake. All Kit had to do was follow the edge of the lake north and he would find his employees!
With swift steps Kit rushed north, after 30minutes he finally set his sights on a construction zone.
