Without anything to put the chickens in Kit decided it would be better to make the vine bags first. “Let’s make the bags before we explore what else is in this room, my priority is getting live chickens first.”
Now that he had seen the white feathered birds, he wasn’t willing to let them go! Kit quickly went over to the vines and started to cut the long stems. With them all concentrated on the task they soon had a large pile of vines.
While they had been hacking at the vines the chickens were completely ignoring them as if they didn’t exist. This made Kit very happy he was worried that their disturbance might have made the chickens run away.
Grandpa stared at the chickens and smacked his lips, then turned to the waiting group. He quickly demonstrated how to make a simple bag and soon they all had a bunch of bags hanging from their waists.
“Kit, I think it will be easier to capture the chickens if we get the midnight guardians to round them up.” Kit thought Grandpa’s plan was worth a shot and agreed. The midnight guardians stalked into the cavern and soon herded a flock of chickens in their direction.
The white chickens where incredibly fast, Kit had already swiped twice and missed each time. He looked over at the others to see how they were faring. His eyes drooped when he realised, he was the only one that hadn’t captured a chicken.
A knock to his leg caused him to look down. Standing next to his leg was Snowball with a white chicken struggling to get out of the small dog’s mouth. Kit felt his mood sour even more, even Snowball could catch one of the white birds!
He looked at the size difference of the two animals and felt like crying. The bird was bigger than his companion, but he still managed to capture it. He quickly bent down and plucked the chicken from Snowballs mouth before it escaped.
He quickly stuffed it into his bag. “Thanks Snowball you’re a great help!” He pushed his sullen mood to the side. It didn’t matter if he was too slow to capture the birds, he had others to do the task for him! “Can you catch the birds for me buddy?” Kit pushed his useless pride to the side, it wouldn’t net him some chickens!
Snowball let out a delighted yip and dashed off to snap another bird in his jaws. Kit watched the bird struggle to no avail as Snowball dragged it back to his feet. Kit guessed that Snowballs jaws must be powerful with all the stones he consumed, the bird would have no chance of escaping!
Kit began to enjoy watching Snowball capture the chickens, it was comical seeing the small dog drag the struggling chickens to his side. The birds squawked with a crestfallen screech each time they were captured by such a small animal. Who knew chickens could display their feelings so well!
Once the bags were filled with the fluttering birds, they decided to hang the bags from a tree while they explored the rest of the cavern. So far, they had only ventured into the space in front of the entrance.
Before they all split up Kit gave the job of hunting the chickens to the midnight guardians. He instructed them to take the dead bodies of the chickens to the entrance of the cavern so he could collect the meat when they were leaving.
Snowball stuck to Kit’s side as he moved further into the cavern. Kit’s eyes roamed around the plants scattered all over the floor. Numerous flowers attracted his attention along the way, he collected samples of each as he went deeper into the room.
When he finally came across something that looked out of the ordinary from the lush surroundings, Kit became excited. A large patch of thin blue stems with small leaves sprouted from the ground, he walked up to the closest one and started digging at the earth beneath.
He soon pulled out something that resembled a blue carrot. It was fat at the top and tapered down to a thin tip. He placed the blue carrot in front of Snowball. “Do you think you can find Grandpa and bring him over to these plants.” Snowball gave a yip then darted off.
Kit pocketed the carrot then left to keep searching for other ingredients. He knew Snowball would catch up with him once he took Grandpa to the carrots. As Kit walked off, he started to hear a familiar sound, continuous sounds of splashing entered his ears.
When he finally arrived at the source of the noise, a beautiful water fall with a deep pool below entered his sight. The water was so clear he could see the distorted rocks behind the veil of water falling from the top. He stood still for a moment to just admire the view.

A crashing sound behind him took his attention from the picturesque scene. Snowball darted out of the brush and bound up to his side. As he was about to bend down to greet the small dog a growl left Snowballs lips.
Kit was momentarily shocked, Snowball rarely growled. Kit instantly became alert. A loud rumble sounded behind Kit, he quickly spun around to face the new threat. A creature that looked like a leopard sat atop the waterfall staring down at Snowball with a hungry gaze.
Instinct made Kit move to block the leopard’s sight of his small companion. He retrieved his sword, then decided it would be best to call for help. He didn’t know how dangerous this large cat would be.
“I NEED SOME HELP OVER HERE!” As soon as he finished shouting a frightening sight appeared. Seven more of the Leopards heads appeared over the top of the rockface of the waterfall. Kit felt his heat leap into his throat.
Eight animals and one human stared at each other. Kit froze in place at their eye’s focused on him, a chill coursed down his spine. Time stood still as the leopards didn’t move and just eerily stared at him.
The only thing that Kit could hear was his pulse beating like a drum with each passing second. The large cats and he were engaged in a stare off with neither side moving. That was until Snowball let out another growl.
The growl broke the standoff and one by one the cats leapt down the rockface of the waterfall. “Damn it Snowball read the room, we can’t fight all of those creatures!” Instead of taking a fighting stance, Kit swept up Snowball and hightailed it away from the approaching creatures.
He crashed through the brush at a break necked pace. Adrenaline pulsed around his body pushing him to move faster. He could practically feel the hot breath of the chasing animals hot on his heels.
As he rounded a particularly large bush his foot caught on a vine. He felt himself lurch forwards accelerating towards the ground. He threw Snowball softly to the side, he didn’t want to crush his companion underneath his body.
The ground rushed up to meet his face, he broke his fall with outstretched hands. He felt the skin on his palms tear as they scraped across the earth, his eyes began to water involuntarily from the pain.
He pushed the pain to the back of his mind and scrambled to his feet. He spun around to face the direction he had come from. As he went to enter a fighting stance, he noticed that his hands were empty.
He felt his chest tighten with fear. Three steps away lay his sword, unfortunately at the moment his eyes landed on his sword, three large leopards stalked through the greenery right were his sword lay. “Hi, nice kitty.” Kit lifted his bleeding hands in a surrendering pose.
A loud growl left the mouth of one of the leopards, he slowly started to back away. It looked like the leopards didn’t understand surrendering.
Three cats leapt towards him flashing sharp white teeth. Panic filled his heart and he braced himself for the upcoming pain.
Kit was knocked back onto the ground and pain exploded from the arm he held out to block the teeth of the closest Leopard.
- 500 health.
Blood ran down his arm and a cry of agony left his mouth. He could feel each of the cat’s teeth sunk into his flesh. Kit had to fight the urge to pass out from the pain, he started to curse. He knew he was moments away from dying.
As sharp pain in his leg alerted him to another of the leopards ripping into his flesh. A scream tore from his lips.
-500 health.
He hoped that he would die quickly, he didn’t want to experience being ripped apart by wild animals.
As he watched in horror as the cat opened it jaw releasing his arm, more blood spurted from his wound. He closed his eyes and waited for his final death blow. When he felt the warmth of the cats leave his body and no pain followed, his brow wrinkled in confusion.
He tentatively opened his eye to see what had happened. All three of the large cats had backed off and were staring off to the side. Each of the Leopards were nervously shuffling in agitation. Kit had an ominous feeling that something worse than the leopards was about to appear.
A rustling sound caught his attention, he turned his head in the direction the leopards were staring. A burst of pastel blue popped out of the green foliage, a tiny blue animal similar to a teacup pig screeched to a holt.
It stared at the three large cats and squealed. Kit felt like his ears might start to bleed from the high pitched noise. When the squealing stopped, silence descended for a moment, then a sound of frantic rushing steps headed his way.
Soon more of the pastel blue pigs burst out of the foliage surrounding him and the leopards. Kit couldn’t help but fawn over the adorable animals. He knew this was the wrong time for him to have one of his cuteness obsession attacks, but he couldn’t help it!
The little teacup pigs stood still for him to get a better look and they were even more adorable than regular tiny pigs. Not only were they pastel blue they had long floppy ears and a fluffy tail just like a rabbit!
Suddenly the little pigs started to glow with a soft blue light. He knew that something would happen soon if the pigs were glowing, he just didn’t know if it would be something good or bad for him.
As he watched the tiny pigs closely, he started to notice the skin of the tiny pigs begin to change. He started to become concerned when glittering sharp fragments started to protrude on the back of the animals. A frosty blue hue radiated of the tips.
Kit had seen something similar to this before, a flash of the spiritual bear in his pocket realm surfaced to the front of his mind. “Shit!” Kit clapped a hand over his mouth, but it was too late, the eyes of the teacup pigs centred on him.
If he had known that this cavern had spiritual beast inside, he would never have entered. Hindsight was a fantastic thing, Kit prayed that the rest of his friends could make it out of this cavern alive.
